Mia was folding herself on a side of the bed when Alex walked in.
He let out a sigh and dropped on the bed. It was tiring trying to do a lot of things at once, and he couldn't help but wonder how Damien had made it work.
The whole facade was tiring and he couldn't wait to go back to his usual lifestyle.
His eyes dropped at Mia and he sighed. "Are you still beating yourself over that failure?"
Mia whimpered.
She had tried twice to sabotage Audrey and both had failed woefully.
She didn't say a word, but Alex continued. "This is how the royal household works, and it's only the strongest that can survive it. If you try a method and it fails, all you have to do was switch the method."
Mia sat down. This was the first time Alex was addressing her in a way like he cared about her feelings, and it was more touching than the words he was saying.
She felt since she had failed him twice, he would no sooner push her aside and find another way to achieve his goal.
