Audrey frowned at the pile Agnes had dropped in front of her. The topics were unfamiliar to her and they didn't look like they were going to be interesting in any way.
They were both settled on her bed, and Agnes had placed numerous books on the table. The books she thought might help in their case.
"Do you really read all of this?"Audrey asked, scrunching her nose up at Agnes.
She had no idea Agnes was such a bookworm. Just because she had always seen her at the infirmary, she never thought Agnes had a life beyond treating others.
"Of course not." Agnes chuckled. "They're just here in case something like this happened. Healers are supposed to know a lot about the human body and creations."
Audrey listened to her as if she were in a class.
"If you know the origin of something, it would be easier to treat it. We have no origin of those things, and that's what we're trying to find out."
