Hearing the subtle flattery in her tone, she could only smile and say:
"Thanks, but you're a guest. How could I keep asking you to cook for me?"
Upon hearing Laura Jones' tone, Selim knew she wasn't upset and secretly breathed a sigh of relief, chuckling:
"I'm happy that you enjoy my cooking."
She held Laura Jones' hand and said:
"If you feel bad about it, just come to the kitchen and help me a bit."
"Sure."
After cleaning up the table, Laura Jones followed Selim to the kitchen.
Selim was quick at cooking, washing and cutting the ingredients in no time, setting them aside for later use.
Although Laura Jones came in to help, she was actually just standing by.
While waiting for the pot, both of them were pretty idle.
Laura Jones picked up a freshly washed cherry tomato nearby, handed one to Selim, and started eating.
Selim took a bite and, thinking about how she was mocked by Hannah Taylor, still felt a bit unwilling.
