The little one still had tear droplets clinging to her long black lashes, but she'd already stopped crying. Her pair of golden eyes were curiously observing the man in front of her, and her two hands were waving in the air.
"Do you want some candy?"
Phoebe brought the lollipop plush close to her little hand. The little one touched it but didn't grab it.
"Don't want it?" Phoebe put the plush aside and looked at the toys around her crib, "So, what does our little princess want?"
Noticing the cotton ball box on the table, he turned around, took out a cotton ball, and gently helped her wipe away the tears hanging at the corners of her eyes. Just as he was about to move his hand away, there was a soft touch on his fingers—her tiny hand had reached over to hold onto one of his fingers.
Then, she pulled it toward her mouth.
"Uncle's hands are dirty, you can't eat them!" Phoebe said with a gentle voice, "Are you hungry? Let's get mommy to feed you some milk, alright?"
