Chapter 2: Final prep

Danny wasn't sure, but he had a feeling that Pandora was almost like the doting mother of the ghost zone. Despite how she was a warrior and her intimidating stature, she made sure he was all set for the next part of this excursion. Checking if he had eaten, made sure his hair wasn't as messy as usual, checked to see if he knew the way to his next stop, and told him to check in with her whenever he could. Even told him that he should think of getting new clothes since all he wears is the hazmat suit.

Danny was glad they were the only ones there as he was embarrassed as she fixed his hair, though he smiled as he could only imagine how she would be when she finally met Dani.

And he couldn't do anything about the hazmat suit since it was always what he wore when he transformed into Phantom.

He made it to the area that he needed to be at and stopped in place before looking at all the doors that were floating around him. "Ok, now, where is- there it is!" He spotted the door that he was looking for and floated to it.

The door had a sign in the shape of a sitting cat with a biker helmet on its head and sitting on a sign that said [Biker Cat].

Danny chuckled as the sign was a gift he got her during her Death day.

She was in a bad mood that day since Johnny forgot it was her Death day and she was stomping around Amity Park just to get away from him. Danny ended up finding her and she chose to spend the day with him, partly to get back at Johnny, and cause she knew Danny would make her feel better. He ended up taking her to the mall as she went on a shopping spree, which was when he got her that little sign as a Death Day gift. It was afterward that Johnny showed up trying to apologize for forgetting it was her Death Day.

One thing a lot of people got wrong about the two was that they didn't die on the same day. They were in an accident, true, but they ended up in the hospital and died on different days. Kitty was the first to go, but Johnny lasted a couple of weeks longer.

Still no excuse, really, but it does explain why he doesn't celebrate his Death Day with hers.

Danny came back to what he was doing and lifted his hand to knock on the door. After rapping it three times, he waited for Kitty to open the door, what he wasn't expecting was Johnny to be the one to open up.

Johnny's bored look turned into a scowl when he saw who it was at the door. "What do you want, punk?"

Danny frowned back at Johnny as he crossed his arms. "I'm not here for a fight, Johnny, I'm just here to see Kitty."

Johnny leaned against the doorframe as he crossed his own arms, blocking the entrance to the realm. "She ain't here, buzz off."

Danny raised an eyebrow at this as he knew for a fact that if Kitty wasn't here, Johnny wouldn't be able to get in. Kitty never let anyone in unless she wanted them in. She told him as such and he still hasn't been invited in, for obvious reasons as Johnny was the only one she would invite in. And she made sure to emphasize the word invite. "Johnny, I know she's here. All I want is to tell her something so I can head out."

Johnny scowled harder but didn't move. "Tell me and I'll tell her."

Danny rolled his eyes as Johnny was being difficult just to be a pest. "Johnny, if I trusted you to tell her, I would, but I know you would either forget or just not tell her in general. Just let me talk to her so we can go do something else."

Johnny pushed off the frame and stood in the middle of the doorway. "Not happening." He summoned Shadow behind him as a threat to Danny.

Danny uncrossed his arms as he took a step back, not out of fear but out of readiness. "You really don't want to fight me, Johnny, you know you're gonna lose." He flexed his hands as they lit up in green energy.

The two stared at each other ready for the other to make a move.

"Johnny!"

Johnny flinched at the shout and turned around to see Kitty standing there with her arms crossed and tapping her foot. He chuckled nervously as he withdrew Shadow. "Hey, Kitten."

Kitty walked forward and pulled on his ear to move him away from the doorway. "I thought I told you to stop picking a fight with Danny!"

Johnny was wincing from the ear pull and was crouching to be at level with her hand. "But, Kitten, I was just - ow!"

Kitty pulled harder as she wasn't gonna listen to whatever excuse her boyfriend was gonna give. "Johnny, you were about to fight against Danny, someone who can wipe the floor with you and not even break a sweat."

Johnny frowned at the idea of him losing to the punk and was about to protest but another yank on his ear shut him up.

"And don't try to argue! Everyone knows that Danny already has more power than a lot of us. The ones that still fight with him are crazy."

Danny smirked as he looked at her. "You really want to say that? I can spread the word about what you said and who knows, it might reach the ear of a certain rockstar."

Kitty's eyes widened before she scowled at Danny. "Don't you dare, Danny, unless you want me to blow you a kiss."

Danny held up his hands in surrender as he was not gonna step on that landmine.

Sure he can dodge all of her attacks and stop her if he wanted, but he doesn't fight Kitty.

Kitty pulled harder on Johnny's ear to get him to fall to his knees. That wasn't what she was aiming for but she will take that as it will keep him from doing something dumb. She looked at Danny and dropped her scowl. "So, what's up, Danny? You usually don't come to see me at my realm unless there is something going on."

Danny held in his laughter at the sight of Kitty acting normal while she held onto Johnny's ear. He cleared his throat before he began to tell her about his upcoming absence.

Kitty had a big smile on her face, not because he was leaving, but because he was going to a location she wanted to go to when she was alive. She squealed as she brought her hands up to her chest. "Oh, Danny, you're so lucky! I've always wanted to go to Japan but I never got the chance. And here you are, telling me you are gonna go to school over there."

Danny leaned back at her excitement as it was not what he was expecting from her. Not only that, she still had Johnny's ear in her hands … and he could see the silent scream coming from the male biker.

Kitty stopped her excitement after a couple of minutes and looked at Danny with slight confusion, though her excitement was still present. "So did you come here just to brag? Cuz if you did, I'm gonna blow you a kiss anyway." She frowned at him as she readied her hand to follow up with the threat.

Danny held up his hands once more but explained why he came here. "No, I didn't come to brag. I came here to ask if you could tell Johnny not to cause too much trouble for my cousin since she is gonna take up my job while I'm away."

Kitty raised an eyebrow as she put the back of her wrists on her hips. "Your cousin? I didn't know you had a cousin."

Danny ran his hand through his hair and down his neck. It was hard to call Dani his cousin for a few reasons but it was how she introduced herself when they first met and they just stuck with that general explanation. "She's been away for a while but she said she would take up my job while I'm away."

Kitty gushed at how Danny's cousin was willing to look out for things while he was away. 'They must be close if she is gonna take up where Danny left off.' She nodded as she was not gonna do anything that would be any trouble, and she was gonna make sure Johnny didn't do anything too bad. "You don't have to worry about anything, Danny, we won't cause any trouble for her while she is doing your job. I'll make sure of it."

Danny smiled gratefully at her. "Thanks, Kitty, I'll make sure to get you a souvenir when I get the chance to come back."

Kitty put her hands on her hips again as she glared at him. "You better." She waved at Danny as he began to float away before something came to mind. "Oh, wait, how will we know she is your cousin?"

Danny turned around and couldn't help but find it amusing at the question. Thinking of a way to be vague but obvious at the same time, he pointed at his chest. "She will have my logo on her chest." He began to float away before he looked over his shoulder. "And I think you should let go of Johnny's ear. I don't think he can take it anymore."

Kitty blinked a few times before she looked down at her right hand to see that Johnny's ear was still in it and he looked to be in the worst pain ever. "Oh, my ancients! Johnny, I'm sorry!" She let go of his ear and he fell to the ground, almost unconscious.

Danny chuckled as he flew away, to the other side of the area. He didn't need to fly far since the next person lived pretty close to Kitty. Once he landed on the small rock platform in front of the realm door, he could still hear and see Kitty in the distance. Smirking at how Johnny had to go through all that, he knocked on the door since he didn't hear any loud noises coming from inside so she should still be able to hear him. He heard some grumbling from inside as the footsteps told him she was coming toward the door.

"Damn it, Kitty,...what did Johnny do this time?" was heard behind the door before it was opened.

Danny heard her start to complain before opening the door, but when she did, his eyes went wide and his face went green with a blush.

Ember Mclain stood at the door with a glare on her face but that wasn't what caught Danny so off guard. She wasn't wearing her usual attire. Her hair wasn't in its usual ponytail and flowed down her back, she didn't have any of her makeup on, and she was wearing a loose black tank top and black panties with blue trimming, with the left strap hanging off her arm, showing a bit of her nipple as it was clear she wasn't wearing a bra.

Danny was frozen stiff at the sight as this was not what he was expecting when he came here.

Ember's glare turned into shocked confusion as Phantom was not who she was expecting to come knocking at her door. Kitty was the only one who would knock on her door as no one else visited her. "Babypop?" Her confusion grew as she saw the blush on his face and wondered what it was he was blushing at. It was then she remembered her state of dress and looked down to see her appearance. Her confusion turned into horror as she realized Danny Phantom was standing in front of her and she was barely dressed at all. She looked back up to see him still frozen before her anger came to her and she punched him in the face and slammed the door shut.

Danny was knocked off his feet and floating into the air from the hit. He held his face in pain as a bruise appeared there. He lowered his hand to look to see if he was bleeding and was glad to see he wasn't. His mind then remembered the sight he had just seen and felt his face burn from his blush. "Ok, I probably deserve that." He then slapped his hand over his face and winced, not only from the slap he did but from the bruise Ember gave him. He whimpered out. "Ow."

After a few minutes, Ember opened her door once more, wearing her usual outfit but without makeup and a hair tie. She didn't have time to put any makeup on and she couldn't find her hair tie.

She saw that he was still floating nearby and spoke, with clear anger in her voice. "Alright, Dipstick, you better tell me what the hell you are doing here and why I shouldn't roast your ass."

Danny slowly floated back towards her but kept a few feet distance. "I um…." He cleared his throat as he still had a blush on his face. "I came- *ahem*" his voice broke as he was starting to wish he wasn't here. He was glad he was in his hazmat since they don't go intangible alone when he was embarrassed. "I came here to tell you that I'm gonna be leaving town for a while so I won't be here to do our usual back and forth when you come to Amity Park." He was glad he was able to say that in a single go as he wasn't sure his voice was going to work.

Ember crossed her arms as she raised an eyebrow. "Where the hell are you going, and why the hell are you telling me this? You should've known I would go there the second you're gone."

Danny nodded as he knew Ember would. "I know, I came to tell you because my cousin is gonna take over for me but she is still a bit green when it comes to fighting. I'm here to ask you to take it easy on her."

This caught Ember's attention. "Your cousin is gonna take over? She any good, cause you got a lot of heavy hitters that come to have some fun."

Danny gave her a hard look as he put his left hand on his hip and waved his right hand at his side. "Which is why I am asking you to take it easy on her. If I had to give her a comparison, she would be close to my fourth, maybe fifth, month of when I got my powers. Though she has a lot of power, she doesn't have the experience."

Ember pursed her lips at the explanation. "What are we, a training course for her?"

"I just don't want her to get hurt that badly. You remember how I was at the start. I kept making mistakes and got hit by a lot of sucker punches. I couldn't even beat you when we first met and only won thanks to some dumb luck."

Ember scowled at the reminder of her failed concert and the horrible singing from the tech geek. "I'm still pissed off about that." she huffed before looking at him. "Where are you going anyway?"

Danny took in a breath. "Japan."

"JAPAN?" she was shocked about the distance before she looked at him critically. "Alright, spill. What's going on?"

Danny then explained what happened and what he was doing with all these visits.

Ember put her hands on her hips as she had to ask. "If you have all these guys guarding the portal, why are you asking me to ease up? From what I can tell, you don't want any ghosts in town while you're gone."

Danny leaned in to look her in the eyes. "Because I know you have the ability to teleport from the Ghost zone to the human world. And with how Kitty spends time with you, I'm sure you would bring her along. Johnny is just in case."

Ember gave him a cheeky smirk. "Good catch, Babypop." She sighed before nodding. "Alright, I won't be too hard on the newbie but I'm not gonna just roll over for her." Her smirk then became mischievous. "But I expect something from you in return for not beating the replacement the first time we meet."

Danny frowned as he crossed his arms. "What do you want?"

Ember turned her back to him. "I think I'll keep that to myself for now. I'll let you know what it is when I want it."

Danny frowned harder. "You really think I'm gonna just give you a blank check?"

Ember looked over her shoulder with a cocky smirk on her face. "Trust me, Babypop, it won't be that bad and I promise I won't go that hard on your cousin until she gets better."

Danny let out a sigh as he knew that Ember had him. Ember Mclain will do many things but she will never lie. Hell, she almost likes a fanfare of what she is doing. Like when she did the fake spa thing she did with YoungBlood and the name of the cruise being: M. Bersback.

Seriously, how did they not notice that?

He nodded begrudgingly at the rocker. "Fine, but that is gonna have to wait till I come back." He smiled as she was at least gonna do what he asked. "Thanks, Ember."

Ember turned sharply to face him once more and jabbed a finger in his face. "You better forget what you saw earlier or else I will go all out on your cuz!"

Danny leaned back as he nodded rapidly.

Ember smirked at how she had some form of control over this Dipstick. Nodding, she eased up and turned back to re-enter her realm. Before closing the door, she looked over her shoulder. "When are you leaving?"

"Tomorrow." He didn't know why she asked but he had no reason to keep this from her.

Ember nodded. "Alright, I'll see you whenever you come back to bug the hell out of us."

Before she closed the door, Danny called out once more.

"Oh, Ember, can I ask you to spread the word to most of the other ghosts? It would be easier if you do it since you don't have a problem with most of them."

Ember groaned before turning to give him a side look. "You're really pushing it, Babypop."

Danny nodded. "I know, but I really only have time to meet with Kitty, you, and one more."

Ember shrugged. "Fine, but I'm adding this to the bill."

Danny gave her a flat expression. "Of course you would." He turned around to begin his last journey before heading home. "Catch ya later, Ember."

She nodded at that. "Enjoy your trip, Babypop." She finally closed the door before heading back to what she was doing earlier. Lazing about.

Danny began to fly off to his last destination with a frown on his face. "One last visit." This time, he went full speed as this one was gonna be different from the previous two visits.

Danny saw the skull island of the ghost zone and moved to land in the middle of the forest that took up most of the lair. He looked around at the heavy foliage before nodding. "Alright, let's get this over with." He transformed back into a human before walking deeper into the woods.

After a few steps, a set of dart turrets popped out of a bush before firing a rapid volley of hunting darts.

Danny paid them no mind as he kept walking, allowing the darts to just phase through him. This was how it went for the next half hour. Traps would activate, either trying to capture or injure him.

He just walked through the bars of a cage that fell on him.

The snare trap just went through his leg and into the tree.

The net just went through his body and hit the ground.

Bolas went through his ankles.

He did fall into a few pitfalls but he would just phase through the ground and back onto the surface.

All of which he ignored as he continued to head toward the center of the realm. He finally made it to the entrance and just walked through. He made it to a trophy hallway, with several of the trophies lining the wall and in cases. He frowned as he looked around for any sign of movement. Not seeing anything, he shoved his hands in his pockets and looked down the hall. "Skulker! I know you're here and I am not here to mess around."

Floating down behind the boy was the mechanical hunter with his arm cannon out and pointing at the boy. "My prey has come to finally be mounted on my wall."

Danny looked over his shoulder at Skulker. "If I came here for that, I would be mentally insane." He fully turned to face the hunter as he spoke in a serious tone. "I wouldn't really want to tell you this since I know you would cause more trouble the moment you find out."

Skulker blinked at how serious the Welp was being but stayed silent in order to find out what he was there for.

Danny took a breath as he stood up straighter. "I'm leaving Amity Park for a while and I have someone coming in to cover for me while I'm gone. I came here to tell you that you are not allowed to hunt her in the same way that you do to me."

Skulker was a bit taken aback by what the Welp said but shifted his arm as he focused on the boy. "What makes you think I would listen to you to withhold my hunt? If you are here to tell me not to, that means that this new prey is something worth the hunt."

"See that's why I am telling you not to." Danny began to walk with a purpose toward the hunter, not caring about the canon pointing at him. "Cause if I find out that you ended up hunting her down and capture her to be a trophy, I promise you, Skulker,..." Once he was close enough, he transformed into Phantom and grabbed the arm cannon before shifting it out of the way. "The only thing left of your realm after I am done will be the pebbles for you to put back together."

Skulker could not believe that the welp was threatening him in such a way. "You will destroy me if I were to hunt this new prey?"

Danny floated to be eye to eye with the hunter. "Skulker, you can hunt me all you want and we can go back and forth until we call it a day and do it all over again, but you are not to even think about hunting her. I'm not gonna destroy you-" He jabbed his thumb at the trophies that lined the wall. "But I will go after your trophies. Trust me, Skulker, I wouldn't want to do it, so please…" He landed back onto the ground and began to walk back down the hall from where he came from. "...don't make me."

Skulker withdrew his canon and watched the boy leave. "Hmm, I never would have thought he would threaten me in such a way." He put his hand on his chin as he grew curious. "Who is the one taking his place?"

Danny was now leaving the hunter's realm and flew a few miles before he paused and looked over his shoulder. He looked around in case there was anyone before he placed a hand on his chest. "Phew, ok, I didn't think I would be able to do all that without breaking."

Despite how he was making the threat to protect Dani from Skulker, he was nervous the entire time cause he had never done anything like that before.

After he was able to catch his breath, he straightened up before slacking his arms as he felt relieved that he was able to do what he wanted to do. The others in his rogues gallery would be told about it from the three he informed and they would most likely wait till he gets back. And he didn't tell Skulker about the guards cause he wanted him to at least get a scare from seeing how protected the Fenton Portal is.

The only one that he chose not to talk to was Vlad. The reason for that is that he didn't want to let the Fruitloop know about his leaving. If he went to talk to the man, Vlad would just come up with some way to irritate him to the point that they would fight and it would just cause him a headache for some reason or another.

He will keep it a secret until his dad probably blabs about it.

He took a breath before he looked around to get his bearings and rotated about seventy degrees so he would be upright and get a better idea of where he was. Once he knew which direction to go, he flew off at top speed towards the Portal. "I really hope Dani isn't early so I can make it before she does.

It didn't take long for Danny to make it to the portal and he flew into the lab before he phased through the ceiling and into the air. He didn't see his parents so that told him they were either out getting fudge, out trying to catch ghosts, or in some corner of the house doing something.

It is weird how despite how large his dad was, he could hide very easily.

Danny flew off toward the clock tower which was the closest landmark to his house. Once he arrived, he flipped upside down and looked toward the clock face. "Hmm, three forty-five, looks like I made it earlier than I thought I would." He righted himself and crossed his legs as he sat in the air. "I guess I'll just wait for her to show up."

Unseen by Danny, a hooded figure poked from around the side of the tower and a pair of green eyes stared at Danny's back. A pair of lips curled into a smile with Dani floating out from behind the tower and making herself small before she kicked off the air and flew at Danny. "Gotcha!"

Danny, however, instantly flipped backward over Dani, causing her to tumble in the air. He floated horizontally, tilting his head up to look at her, and smirked as he crossed his arms. "Nice try, but you have to do better to catch me off guard."

Dani was able to right herself and looked up at Danny. "I thought I had you this time."

Danny chuckled as he lowered himself to be level with her. "You almost had me that time." His smirk became a soft smile. "It's good to see you, Dani. Even though you still use your hood when you are trying to be sneaky."

Dani nodded as she pulled her hood off. "Same to you, Danny."

Dani, Danny's clone made by Vlad when the Fruitloop was trying to make the perfect son. Unfortunately, for Vlad, in one of his attempts to make the clone stable, he messed with something and this clone came out female and younger by several years, physically. After saving her from the Fruitloop, Dani stuck around Danny and helped him out in his fights. It was when her core began to cause her trouble that they went to Frostbite in order to figure out what was wrong and fix her. With the Yeti tribe leader's help, they extracted Danny's Mid Morph DNA to save her.

It did have an interesting side effect though.

It aged her up to be fourteen, the same age as Danny. That was an awkward moment as the growth was almost instant and her clothing did not survive. And it seemed that she got Maddie's genetics when it came to her figure. Maybe a bit more or less, but they never checked. Her face had lost its roundness, her eyes becoming slightly sharper, her lips becoming fuller, and her hair had gotten long enough to reach her rear.

For her new outfit, she now wore a form-fitting sleeveless top that showed her midriff which had a white collar that wrapped around her neck and went down the center of her chest that splashed into a wave-like design at the bottom as the black of it started from the trim of her shoulder straps and down the side of her chest and torso. In the dead center of the chest was a black oval with the white DP logo. Attached to the back of her shoulders was a black hoodie with some ecto green trimming. She kept her gloves from before but were now both black with a green circle on the back of her hand. Around her waist was a belt that had a DP buckle that held up an ecto green waist cape that had white cushioned edges while her pants were similar to her previous ones but with the colors inverted, while around her feet she kept white boots that had green soles.

Danny pointed at her as he said. "I think you got shorter."

Dani pouted as she flew closer and smacked his hand. "Jerk, you're supposed to say I got taller."

"I would say that if it were true." His smirk became cheeky as she pouted at him. After a few seconds, they both laughed before hugging each other. "So, your trip here ok?"

Dani rolled her eyes before nodding. "This isn't the first time I went from some random place to here. It went fine." She floated over to the tower and sat on the shorthand of the clock as she gave him a look. "So, what's really going through your head?"

Danny raised an eyebrow at the question. "What do you-"

"Danny, I may not be that old but I am smart enough to know that you are hiding all of your real thoughts so you don't bug anyone. Come on, just …..I don't know, vent?"

Danny stared at her for a minute before he slumped with his arms dangling. "I just don't get it, Dani." He began to walk back and forth in front of Dani and waving his arms around. "I didn't do anything to sign up for this stupid program that is gonna take me away from my home to a random location that is so far away that I can't even fly back fast enough to hang out with everyone, I was told only a week before I had to go, my parents are all for it, my sister is whining at not being the one to be offered this, AND I WISH THINGS WOULD SLOW DOWN SO I CAN CATCH MY BREATH AND GET A FRIGGIN BREAK!" He threw his arms in the air as he breathed heavily.

"Feel better?"

Danny took in a deep breath before he floated over to sit next to Dani. "Yeah, normally I would have taken this out in a fight but my usuals are busy and Vlad is a no-go for anything."

Dani frowned at the sight of Danny looking so defeated and figured that she should make him feel better. Remembering something she had seen before, she reached over and grabbed his head before bringing it to her chest.

Danny was surprised by the action and blushed. "Dani, what-?"

"I heard this can help out and these things should be good for something." She gestured to her chest as she patted Danny on the head.

Danny had no idea where she would learn something like this but he figured that he should just let her do this since she thought it would help. He let out a sigh and just laid his head there.

For the next few minutes, the two just sat on the clock hand, not saying anything.

Suddenly, Danny's phone rang and the two jumped in shock.

Danny reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone to see who it was. He saw it was Sam and wondered what she had to say. He looked at Dani and told her. "It's Sam."

Dani gestured to the phone. "Well, you gonna answer it?"

Danny looked back at the phone and answered it. "Hey, Sam, what's up?"

{Danny! Where are you?! I got an idea that could fix all this!}

"Woah, woah, easy, Sam. Where are you? We can talk in person."

{Amity Park park. There is no one around so get over here so we can go over the plan.}

Danny nodded despite knowing she couldn't see him. "Got it, we'll head over now." He then hung up the phone before looking at Dani. "Sam's got an idea. She wants to meet so she can tell us."

Dani slipped off the hand before floating in front of him. "Race ya." Before Danny could say anything, she bolted away.

Danny watched her go before following. "Hey, wait! You don't even know where Amity Park Park is!" He figured that her super hearing allowed her to hear the conversation, but it wasn't that important.

Sam was pacing back and forth as she waited for Danny to show up. "Where is he?" she said in frustration as she was being impatient.

Tucker was fiddling with his PDA as he leaned on one of the trees. "Take it easy, Sam. He hasn't left yet, that's tomorrow."

Sam scowled at him as she wanted to punch him in the arm for bringing that up. "Well, that's why we are waiting for him to show up. So we can tell him the plan and he can drop that floozy school." During her time looking the school up, she caught sight of the uniforms and how short the skirts were. She knew in that instant, she had to stop Danny from going to that school. For no other reason than to protect him. No other reason

"Hey~! We're here."

Sam looked up and saw Danny coming down for a landing. What she wasn't expecting was the sight of Dani floating next to him. She frowned at the sight of her but she shook it off as there were other matters to think about. "What took you?"

Danny shrugged as he walked toward them. "I was busy. Anyway, what's this plan you guys came up with?"

Tucker pushed off the tree and gestured to Sam. "This was mostly her idea but I think it will work."

Sam nodded as she began to lay out her plan. "So, what I'm thinking is that when you go over to that school-" she growled out the word but this went unnoticed by Danny. "- is that once you're there, you can overshadow the people in the school to throw this program in the trash and never think about it again."

Danny frowned at the plan as he thought about it.

Before he could say anything, Dani spoke up. "That sounds like he would be the bad guy."

Sam rolled her eyes. "He isn't the bad guy, he is doing this in order to stay where he is needed."

Dani crossed her arms and shifted her hips to the side. "That's what I am here for. While he's gone, I deal with the ghosts, put them in the thermos, and send them back into the ghost zone. He even has a bunch of backup that will make things easier. Even when he comes back, I'm sure that they will stick around to make his town safe."

Sam pointed at Danny while keeping her eyes on Dani. "If he does this, he won't have to leave. This whole thing can be brushed aside if he just overshadows them and gets the transfer canceled!"

Danny spoke up in a serious tone. "Sam, I'm not gonna do that."

Sam turned to look at him as if he had said something stupid. "Why not?" she was incredulous about his answer since they had a way to get out of this so easily.

Danny crossed his arms as he gave her a stern expression. "Because it would be no different than what Vlad did."

Tucker heard this and winced as he could see where he was coming from.

Dani stuck out her tongue in disgust and was glad that Danny was not going to mimic the Frutiloop. She heard the others call Vlad that and it stuck.

Sam frowned hard at what he said. "How is this anything like what that Fruitloop did?!"

"You're telling me to overshadow some stranger and force them to do something I want."

"This is different!" She threw her arms to the side as if it was obvious.

He asked incredulously. "How?"

Sam rolled her eyes. "Because he is a Fruitloop that overshadowed people to get rich."

Dani frowned as she stepped forward. "I'm with Danny on this. It sounds exactly like what Vlad did."

Sam turned to glare at Dani. "Stay out of this, you're not helping."

Danny stepped in front of Dani and glared at Sam. "Hey, backoff!"

Sam got into his face. "Are you so excited to go to that school? To go see all those girls in short skirts and tight shirts!" this was one of the things that she really didn't want Danny to go to. With all the girls that are in the school, she worried that Danny would just think with his hormones and fall into the clutches of another Paulina floozy.

Danny leaned forward to meet her glare. "The hell is wrong with you, Sam?! I thought you wanted to give me an idea to avoid all this but now you are telling me to act like the Fruitloop just because you don't want me to go to the school. You know for a fact that I wouldn't just jump at the chance of going to the school because of the skirt thing! I! don't! Want! to go! We've been trying to think of ways to get out of this but we ran out of time! I'm leaving tomorrow and everything is already set for it, it's over!"

Sam didn't back down from this. "So you've given up."

Danny threw his hands in the air. "Oh for crying out loud, Sam!"

Dani stepped up and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Danny, calm down." Knowing that he needed something to calm his nerves, she tugged his shoulder and spoke. "How about we get out of here and go for a flight?" She glared at Sam as she did not appreciate how she was acting and being accusatory toward Danny. She understood that the goth didn't want Danny to go but she was suggesting that Danny stoop to Vlad's level just because she didn't want him to leave. She didn't want to be around the goth right now and it was obvious that Danny needed to be away as well.

Danny inhaled deeply before he looked at her and nodded. "Let's go."

He and Dani floated up into the air before flying off somewhere.

Tucker stepped forward and frowned at Sam. "You really stepped in it there, Sam."

Sam grit her teeth as she stared at Danny leaving. She held in as much frustration she could before turning around and stomping away.

Tucker shook his head as Sam's choice of keeping her feelings to herself just kept causing problems. Danny never figured it out as Sam would always indicate that it was nothing but Danny's misinterpretation. It lasted up to the point that Tucker began to question if there was ever a chance. He followed Sam as he knew that Danny was not gonna be in the mood for anything to do with them. He even thought about the request that Sam had and could see Danny's point, it was way too much like Vlad, and Danny would want to avoid any sort of comparison to that man as possible. 'Sam really messed up this time.'

~That night~

Danny and Dani were sitting on the roof of one of the tall buildings as they were looking up at the stars

Dani looked to her left at Danny. "Feeling better?"

Danny took a breath before nodding. He knew that she wasn't just referring to Sam. "Yeah. I'm still hesitant about the whole thing but there's no stopping it now."

Dani wrapped her arm around his shoulder and hugged him. "We aren't going anywhere. You'll still come back and see that we are all just going about the day like normal. And think of all the good things that will happen by going to Japan. You won't have to deal with any bullies anymore, you get to meet new people, you get to check it off your bucket list-"

"Kinda redundant having one of those." He chuckled along with a giggle from Dani.

"-and the worst thing you will have to deal with while there; is looking at a new set of constellations."

The two had a laugh at that as Danny felt better. Even more so now that Dani made this sound like a vacation. He leaned into Dani and brought his arm up around her waist. The two looked at the stars as he said. "Thanks for all this, Dani."

Dani giggled. "You better get me a souvenir since I never got a chance to head over there."

Danny laughed at that. "Sure."

~Amity Airport~

Danny was standing in front of his family with a backpack hanging on his shoulder and a travel case next to him. They were at the gate as they were about to call out for the plane to board and this was the last moment they would have.

Danny took a breath. "Well, this is it."

Maddie hugged her son. "Oh, Danny, you should be happy about this. It's an adventure that you will enjoy, I just know it."

Jack hugged the two. "She's right, Danny-boy. I never got the chance to go there so you should go out and see what they have. Not to mention the kind of fudge and ghosts they have."

Danny rolled his eyes before he felt his sister hug them from behind.

"They're right, little brother. Just take advantage of what you got and find something to enjoy there. Everything will be alright while you're gone."

Danny nodded. "Yeah, I know." He separated from his family and turned to see his two friends. He was still mad at Sam but this wasn't the time to let that get to him.

Tucker smiled as he stepped forward. The two high-fived before Tucker nodded. "You better get me the newest tech you get over there."

Danny rolled his eyes. "If I can, I'll send you a gas station quarter toy."

"Hey!"

The two laughed before he looked at Sam.

Sam still had a frown on her face but it softened as she stepped forward. "...I…" she stopped as he put a hand on her shoulder.

Danny smiled. "If I come back and find out that Tucker ate a single Pea, I'm blaming you."

Sam smiled and nodded. "I'll get him to eat a salad by the time you get back."

They all had a laugh at that before Danny took a few steps and he looked at his family.

Danny eyed all of them, making sure to commit them to his memory. 'Ok, why am I making it seem like I'm leaving forever? I'm just….!' He smiled as he opened his mouth. "Lea~ving on a jet plane, I don't know when I'll be back again…."

Everyone there blinked a few times before Maddie smiled.

"Leaving, on a jet plane."

Jazz followed up as a backup. "Leaving~ on a jet plane~"

Jack joined in with a louder base tone. "Leaving~ on~ a jet plane."

Tucker opened his mouth to join. "...L-"

Sam slapped her hand over his mouth as she picked up. "Leaving~ on a Jet plane~" She ignored the glare she got from the tech geek

The group sang this a few more times and Danny heard several voices joining in. specifically from a princess, a Rockstar, and a biker girl.

They didn't care that everyone was looking at them, it was their moment.

{Gate 14, now boarding}

The group stopped as Danny looked over his shoulder to see the gate open. He nodded with a smile as he hefted up his bag and grabbed his travel case. He walked toward the gate before pausing at the door. He looked back and smiled at his family. He held his hand up as a wave. He watched as they waved back before his eyes shifted upward at the four ghosts that were here to send him off. Dora, Ember, Kitty, and Pandora. "Take care of things while I'm gone."

The four ghosts nodded before they flew away.

With one last look at his family, he walked through the gate. As he was walking through the gate, a new voice spoke.

"Danny."

He paused as he knew that voice. "Dani?" he felt her hug him invisibly. He kept still so as not to give any attention to them even though the tunnel was empty since everyone was already onboard.

"Take care of yourself." she hugged him tighter before she kissed his cheek. She giggled at his reaction before she let him go. "See ya later, Danny." She flew off, phasing through the gate walls.

Danny hefted his bag once more. "Later, everyone." He continued through and boarded the plane. He found his seat and blinked as it was a large single seat that had a lot of legroom, a side laptop table, a decent-sized bed, and a large TV.

Did he mention that it was actually a small single-person room that had a door and window?

"I've heard that there were first-class ways of traveling but this is beyond that." He walked in, put his luggage on the bed, and sat on the seat. He looked around the room and could not believe that this was an actual plane. He did see that the plane was large but he never expected this! "At least I won't have to sit down in an uncomfortable chair for the long flight." He then wondered something. "How long is this flight anyway?" He pulled out his ticket and looked it over as he looked for the arrival time. His eyes bugged out when he saw it. "Holy Crap!"

Everyone watched as the plane got onto the runway before taking off.

Tucker watched it leave before looking at Sam. "if you were looking for a final chance to tell him…. That was it."

Sam punched his arm before stomping away. "I'm sure that Danny won't fall for any of those floozy girls after he had dealt with Paulina."

Tucker rubbed his arm as it was in pain. 'Danny is super lucky to see all those girls'

Danny was off to a new adventure, not knowing what was in store for him

Chapter 3: New Environment

"Ok, so this '私の' means 'Wa - ta - shi - no' can be read as 'I', 'mine', 'me'. But it can be used by both boys and girls, while for guys, '僕' is 'Boku'."

Danny was sitting on the bed with a book in one hand and a pencil in the other. He had spent the last two hours looking through the book that his sister gave him in order to understand the language. She gave it to him when he finished packing the last of his things and told him that he would need it. He was thankful for the gift, even though he no longer needed it to learn how to speak the language, it still helped him try to read it.

"Why does it turn into this bundle of squiggles one way when there is another bundle of squiggles here?!

So far…two hours is not enough to understand much.

He lowered the book and dropped his head. "Ugh, if I hadn't been trying to figure out a way not to go to the school, I might have gotten some of this memorized." He sighed before falling back and putting his hands behind his head. He stared at the ceiling thinking about what he could expect from being in Japan. He never looked into other countries much as his focus was more on fighting ghosts, getting his homework done, and trying not to get vaporized by one of his parents' inventions. "Well, I know I won't have to stay up super late dealing with ghosts anymore…. I can actually build that shuttle model that I got but never got around to… I can look at different constellation settings!" He was starting to get in a better mood as he began to point out the positives of going there. "No more bullies! No one knows me there so they shouldn't have any beef with me. I will finally be able to sleep in after a full eight hours of sleep instead of bolting awake after two or three hours." He sat up and threw his fist in the air as he stated. "I might actually start getting good grades again!" he made sure to not shout as he wasn't sure how soundproof the walls were. He smiled as he crossed his leg over his propped-up leg. "Guess they were all right, I should see this as a vacation." He looked out the window to see the clouds passing by. "I just have to get through the long trip there." He sat back up and grabbed the book again. "I have the time, might as well try and figure this out. I learned Esperanto, how hard can this be?"

~Four hour mark~

Danny lifted the game controller into the air at an angle as he was playing a video game. He was shooting a bunch of zombies before a massive one came rushing toward him. "Oh no you don't!" he flicked the control stick to get his character to jump out of the way before he started shooting at it. After a few minutes of non-stop shooting, he stuck his tongue out in concentration. "Come on, come on, yes." He smiled as he saw the big zombie explode. He stood up from his seat and pumped his fist. After his elation calmed down, he moved over to the bed and plopped down to sit before he looked at the book he had spent the first few hours reading it. He was able to get a few words in his head but it was still a very slow progress. "Well, now that I finished that level, I should study this more." He picked up the book before opening it where he left off.

~Seven-hour mark~

{-we are live in downtown Amity and it looks like another ghost fight is taking over the whole block outside of the theater.}

"Seriously?! I've only been gone for half a day and already they are causing trouble?"

Danny was now watching a newscast of Amity Park to see if there was anything going on. It took him a few minutes to find the channel that had it but when he did, he watched as the usual weatherman was onsite of another ghost fight.

He watched as Dani fought against a couple of Ectopusses. So far, she was doing pretty good, but the fight was going on too long.

This was one of the things he was glad his parents gave to the news crew of amity. Cameras that were able to film ghosts without the usual ghost aura causing fuzzy blurs or cut-off scenes.

{We don't get why our local ghost Danny Phantom is taking so long but we can only assume that he is either enjoying the fight too much or is off his game.}

Danny sighed and shook his head as they were thinking it was him thanks to the general colors Dani was using. "Don't they realize that her outfit is different than mine? Or do they not notice?"

{though from what I can tell, it looks like he changed his look by adding some green to it.}

'Oh, they did notice.' He watched as Dani finally grabbed the Ectopusses and swung them around before tossing them to the ground. She floated down and landed on the ground before the camera started moving closer.

{This is one of the rare chances that Phantom lands on the ground. We are gonna try and get a little closer. Maybe we can get some questions… wait. That isn't Danny Phantom!}

Danny watched as the camera started rushing toward Dani. "oh boy."

{Miss! Miss! Can we get a few questions answered?}

Danny saw Dani jump in shock at the coming camera crew and turn to look at them. He smiled at how embarrassed she looked and how, during a fight with a ghost, she has the confidence to take on a lot of his heavy hitters, but when in front of a camera, she becomes a timid girl who can't look anyone in the eye.

Dani hunched her shoulders and brought up her hoodie to cover her face. {um, I uh…. I gotta go.} She flew over to the knocked-out Ecto pusses and dragged them into the sky and away from the area.

The weatherman turned to face the camera before speaking to the studio and people. {well, it looks like we have a new ghost hero in town. Is she here to take over Danny Phantom's territory? Is she here to replace him? We will soon see what this Inviso-girl plans to do-}

{IT'S DANI PHANTOM!} Dani's head poked out from the room top, seen by the camera, before she disappeared from sight. A second later, she poked her head out again. {THAT'S DANI WITH AN "I".} She disappeared again, leaving the camera crew a bit surprised.

The weatherman blinked a few times before looking back at the camera. {Dani Phantom, plans to do now that she is here. Based on that name, she could be related to Danny Phantom and we will bring you any update about these two when the information comes in.}

Danny smiled as he watched how fast Dani was able to get her name known to the people. He then frowned as he slumped his head. "How come I couldn't get them to say my name right as fast as she did." He shook off his mood and grabbed the remote. "Well, at least she is getting things done." He blinked as he realized. "Did she forget the Thermos I gave her?" He chuckled as he changed the channel. "She'll get it soon."

~eight hour mark~

Danny stared outside the window with his face and hands pressed on the glass. "I could get there faster if I fly myself." He looked at his stuff and thought about it. "Yeah, I've flown faster than a plane before, I can do it again and get there faster." He turned his head intangible and stuck it outside. After a minute, he brought his head back in, with his hair blown back. "Yeah, I could fly faster than this." He looked back at his stuff, only to frown as he wasn't sure which airport the plane would land along with some information that was on the second page of the acceptance letter. "Ugh, but I can't. Not only do I not know where I need to land, but I can't thanks to what that thing told me." He shook his head, getting his hair to go back to normal. He huffed before he sat in his chair and turned on the TV. "Well, I guess boredom isn't the worst thing to happen to me."

~eleventh hour~

"Journal entry #78-" Came the shaky voice of Danny as he was curled in the corner, a blanket covering him, and shivering. "- I've been in this room for….. I don't know how long. I can hear the voices outside. They are talking. I can hear the whispers. Who are they?" He looked toward the closed door as he wrote in the notebook. "They are after me. I know they are" He silently hissed at the door as if it was an enemy. "They want to take me away. But they won't take me. I will protect my precious. Phantom. Phantom. Hehehehehehehe."

knock knock knock*

"Yes?"

Opening the door, was an attendant with the snack trolly. She looked in the room to see the boy sitting on the bed, looking at her with a curious expression, a blanket draped over his shoulder, and a notebook sitting on his lap. "Hello, sir, is there anything you would like from the cart?"

Danny looked at the cart and saw a few candies and drinks. "Hmm, yeah, can I have some-" He ordered a few candy bags and a soda, almost ecstatic that he didn't have to pay as it was already paid for. He thanked the lady before he closed the door and moved to sit back on the bed while eating some of the chocolates. "Why can't I have this kind of luxury back home?" He looked at the notebook he was scribbling in and opened it to see that the page he was using was just pencil marks. A massive squiggle that took up two pages. "Well, I think that is enough pretending for now." He opened his soda and took a swig. "Boredom does weird stuff to ya."

~ fifteen-hour mark~

Danny was lying on the bed and holding his hand up, using his ice powers to make small marbles that floated around his fingers. He had a look of concentration as his tongue stuck out. "I can still only get four of these things to float around my finger. Frostbite did tell me that this helps in control but it's a lot easier to just blast it than make these small things and control them." He lost his focus and the marbles fell onto his face. He dropped his hand and sighed. "Frostbite can make hundreds of these and make them dance yet here I am with barely four." He picked one of them up and looked at it. "I'll catch up when I have the time to focus on this." He popped it into his mouth before rolling it around in his mouth. "I wonder if I can do this with juice?"

{Attention, passengers, we will soon be entering Japanese airspace and will begin our approach in thirty minutes. Please make sure that you possess all your belongings before our approach and are ready to depart. Attention, passengers, we will soon be entering Japanese airspace and will begin our approach in thirty minutes. Please ensure you possess all your belongings before our approach and are ready to depart.}

Danny felt a tingle in his ear and stuck his pinky in it to make the tickling stop. He wondered why they repeated themselves about this but he figured that he should start packing up so that he isn't spending the last few minutes running around and getting everything ready. He sat up and looked around at his stuff. Being lazy, he stretched out his hand and used what little telekinesis he had to start moving his stuff toward his suitcase. "Gotta practice this too so, might as well."

{Entering Japan airspace}

A pair of golden eyes opened up before the owner stood up and walked toward the outdoor garden. The woman stood in the garden's center with the koi pond to her left. She looked up into the air as something caught her attention. "What could that be?"

"Is there something wrong, mother?"

The woman turned to see a young girl walking up to her. She shook her head before looking back into the sky. "Nothing is wrong. I just felt something." Her eyes scanned the sky till she saw a plane flying overhead.

The two looked into the sky as several golden tails swayed behind them.

Green eyes shifted as the owner felt something in the area that had been a bit of concern to them for some time now. It was an unknown that just entered the area and brought concern.

"Is something the matter, sister?"

The owner shook her head as it was unknown if this was a threat or not. "I am unsure but I felt…..something."

"Something concerning?"

"No, just…..vaguely familiar."

A fluttering was heard before golden feathers floated in the air.

A man took a gulp of his drink as he sat at a bar before he froze and looked up at the ceiling. "What could that be?"

"Something up?" spoke the bartender as he cleaned a glass.

The man shook his head before he got up. "No, I just had a gut feeling about something. Well, I better head back so I can catch the afternoon showing.." He placed the money on the table to pay for his drinks. "Take care."

"You too, sir." the bartender took the money before moving to the register to put it in. He paused when he saw that there was much more there than the drink cost. "Wait, sir!" he ran around the counter and out the door to catch up with the guy to give back the money that went over the cost. Once he stepped outside, he didn't see any sign of the man. He felt something land on his head and reached up to grab it before looking at what it was.

It was a black feather.

A set of eyes shifted as the owner got up from their seat. "Oh, he's here. I know it was around this time he should have arrived but I guess I was too busy to remember. I wish I could meet him but I guess it will have to wait."

Danny clipped his case shut before he froze and looked out the window. He tilted his head as something tingled the back of his head. He got the feeling when they entered Japan airspace but he brushed it off as it wasn't anything major. He checked the entire room to make sure that he didn't forget anything. Once he was sure he had everything, he looked at the laptop table as he had brought out the letter to look at the instructions on it earlier. He picked it up before folding it and putting it in his pocket. "Well, here we go."

{Thank you for flying with us and we hope you fly with us again.}

Danny walked off the plane and looked around as it was clear that he was no longer in the States. Mainly cause he couldn't read any of the signs around him. "Okay, now where am I supposed to go?" He pulled out the piece of paper and read it. "So, I'm supposed to go to the…. East entrance?" He looked up and groaned as he couldn't tell which direction was East. "Sure, this thing is in English but everything here is in Japanese." He shrugged his shoulder and lifted his hand to point in a direction. "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe." He pointed to his right and began to walk. He was glad he didn't have to go through baggage since he only had his carrying case.

He wandered the airport for a good fifteen minutes before he gave up and walked up to one of the security agents.

"Excuse me, can you tell me where the East Gate is?"

The man looked at the boy with a raised eyebrow. "I ….am sorry, can you please….. repeat … your question?"

Danny heard the slow speech and figured that the guy didn't speak English much. Remembering what Pandora told him, he focused a small amount of Ecto energy into his throat and tried again. "Can you tell me where I can find the East entrance?"

The security guard gave a small sigh of relief before answering. "Head in that direction-" He pointed over to his left. "And it will be the large entrance with the blue banner over it." He looked back at the boy and complimented him. "I must say, your Japanese is impeccable."

Danny ignored the tingling in his ears as he chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. "I had someone teach me how back home." He shifted his bag and nodded to the man. "Thank you for the directions."

The man did a sharp nod. "You are very welcome. Enjoy your stay in Japan."

Danny nodded again before making his way toward the entrance. He rubbed his throat as it tickled from using his energy there. "Wow, it actually worked. Thanks, Pandora."

He made it to the entrance and walked outside as he looked at the piece of paper. "Ok, it says that someone will be here to meet me, but it doesn't say anything about who it will be. I don't know if I need to look for the person or just stand in one spot." He looked around and couldn't tell if anyone was looking for him since it was extremely crowded and he was surprised that no one was bumping into him.

"Excuse me, are you Danny Fenton?"

Danny turned around to see who it was that was speaking and saw it was a girl around his age talking to him.

The girl gave off a mature aura as her eyes were sharp with amber irises behind a pair of blue half-rim glasses. Her black hair was long enough to reach past her knees with bangs covering her forehead. She wore the school uniform that Danny had seen meant for their students. It was a white buttoned up blouse that accentuated her large breasts, with an onyx colored corset around her stomach, and a very short bright burgundy skirt with small white frills.

Danny figured that she might be the one to come for him since she was wearing the school uniform and called out to him, but he gained a slight blush as he couldn't help but think to himself. 'Holy crap, she's prettier than Paulina!' He remembered that she asked him a question and shook away his blush, while instinctively grabbing his pants just in case. "Uh, um, yeah, I am. Are you the one that is here to pick me up?"

The girl shook her head as she maintained a serious aura. "No, I am Tsubaki Shinra, I came looking for you to bring you to the one that was here for you." She turned to the side and gestured for him to follow her. "We should meet up with her now as she has been waiting."

Danny chuckled nervously as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry, I kinda got lost in the terminal. I still can't read Japanese yet." He followed her as they walked through the crowd. He noticed how crowded it was and couldn't help but ask. "How did you find me in all this?"

Tsubaki looked over her shoulder at him. Without missing a beat, she responded. "We were given a photo of you so that we would find you easily." Her eyes only briefly lingered on his pocket before looking back ahead.

Danny looked up at his hair and figured that it might be one of his distinctive features that helped her find him.

After getting through the crowd, they began to make their way toward a parked limo with another girl standing next to the door.

Danny saw that she was also wearing the school uniform.

This girl was petite but also gave off an aura of authority but she seemed less stern than Tsubaki. Her hair only reached the end of her chin and had a yellow hair clip on the left side of her head. Her eyes were softer than Tsubaki's with her magenta eyes behind a red-rimmed set of glasses as they stared at Danny.

As they got closer, he couldn't help but have another thought. 'She's prettier than Paulina, too! Tucker would blow a gasket if he knew about this.' He swallowed back his blush and tried to be normal while gripping his pants tighter with his only free hand.

Tsubaki stopped in front of the other girl and bowed. "I have brought Danny Fenton here."

The petit girl bowed in response. "Thank you, Tsubaki." She looked at Danny before folding her hands in front of her and bowed. "I welcome you, Danny Fenton, to our country and to be part of our academy. I am Souna Shitori, Student council president of Kuoh Academy. I was informed that I would lead you to your new abode for your stay in our school." She gestured to the limousine for Danny to enter. "Now, please, let us be off."

Danny nodded as he moved to the trunk to put his traveling case in it before following the two girls into the vehicle.

Tsubaki sat on the far side, Souna Shitori sat in the middle, and Danny sat at the door they entered. Once the three were in the car, it started to drive away.

Danny looked around the car as he couldn't believe he had gone from flying in a super first-class plane to a limo. 'If I see a mansion, I'm gonna buy a lottery ticket. The world is telling me to get rich.' He internally chuckled before something came to mind. He looked out the window to get an idea of where they were going.

As he was looking out the window, both Souna and Tsubaki eyed him.

After a minute, he gained a flat expression. 'I have no idea where anything is so how would I even know where we are going?' He shook away his expression and looked at the two girls. "Uh, where are we heading? The paper I got only said I would be picked up by you but not much else."

Souna hummed at what he said before answering. "We were informed of your arrival and tasked with bringing you to the dwelling that has been set up for you during your stay in the academy."

Danny was shocked at that. "I get my own place?!"

Tsubaki was the one to nod. "Yes, were you unaware of this?"

Danny shook his head before he pulled out the piece of paper. "This thing was very vague on a lot of things. All it said was that everything was taken care of and that someone would pick me up from the airport."

Souna eyed the paper before holding out a hand. "Mind if I see it?"

Danny shrugged as he handed it over.

Souna read the information on the paper before her eyes scanned the empty space at the bottom of it. "This does have a lack of details. I was barely given any information about your arrival, just enough for me to be here when you arrived."

Danny let out a huff as he crossed his arms. "Why does this sound more and more like this was a whim? Usually, stuff like this would be more detailed or full of other stuff about my class or something."

Tsubaki shifted her glasses as she spoke. "That actually was taken care of. A list of your classes was sent to your new abode along with your uniform."

Danny remembered the uniform thing he would have to do and dropped his head. "Oh, right, I forgot about that. Well, it's just another thing I have to get used to while I'm here."

Souna nodded as she figured that he would have a bit of a culture shock in his early time here. "Yes, there most likely will be a good amount of customs you will have to get used to. But I am curious as to how you learned to speak Japanese so well."

Danny sucked in his lips as he couldn't think of anything that would excuse him from that. His mind rushed on everything he knew and was able to grab onto something. "My sister helped me out in speaking it and I was able to get it for the most part since I got the letter." 'Please buy it, please buy it!' He did his best to keep his expression natural but he didn't know if it was working.

Souna and Tsubaki looked at each other before they looked back at the boy.

Souna leaned back in her seat, her glasses gleaming white as she nodded. "You must have been a fast learner to understand Japanese so quickly."

Danny would have let out the breath he was holding but that would have been a dead giveaway. Instead, he chose to just hold it in for another few seconds as he slowly let it out.

Tsubaki placed her hands on her lap as she asked. "Tell me, do you know why you were chosen to come to our school?"

Danny blinked at the question as he was hoping that they would know since they were picking him up but he figured that they were just doing this because they were told to. He shrugged his shoulders as he leaned on the door. "I have no idea. I only found out about the transfer a week ago and had to go through so many hoops before I traveled."

Souna shifted her eyes to his backpack before looking back at his eyes. "And all you brought were the travel case and your backpack?"

Danny looked at the bag he had placed on the floor and shrugged again. When I packed up, I realized that I didn't have a lot of things to bring. Just a set of clothes and some smaller electronics that can keep me entertained."

Tsubaki hummed in thought. "It seems that you might have a difficult time living here if you do not have much with you."

Danny made a face as that was something else he did not realize until just now. Well, Jazz did bring up the idea that he would be in a boarding house belonging to the school, but now he finds out that he will be living on his own. "Well, I've had to deal with some difficult decisions before, I'm sure I can handle this in some way." He rubbed the top of his head as he wanted to ask. "So, you really don't know why I was transferred here?"

Souna shook her head. "No, as we said before, we were only tasked with bringing you to your abode and giving you details of our school." She paused as something came to her mind after hearing what Danny had to say. "But from the lack of information we were given and how this school is a new environment for you, I am willing to help you whenever there is something that is causing you trouble while you are there. You can come to the student council if you run into something that you do not understand."

Danny gave a grateful smile at that before asking. "By the way, what is the 'student council'? You said you were president of it, but I don't know what it is."

Tsubaki tilted her head. "Did you not have a student council in your own school?"

Danny thought about it for a second before shaking his head. "Not that I know. I mean, the name sounds like it is some sort of school government thing but there isn't anything like that back at Casper High."

Souna shifted her glasses before speaking. "The student council is the representatives of their respective schools. They are to handle budgets for clubs, oversee school activities, and handle meetings with representatives of other schools. We also make sure that everything in the school does not get far too chaotic. There are some conflicts, arguments, and situations that occur within the school that we allow, but if ever something far too…. Unacceptable happens, we come in to stop it."

Danny was a little surprised about this. It sounded like the school was run as if it was a facility with its own police force, but with how these two seemed to not be the high and mighty type, he guessed he should go along with it. Sure, there was an air around them that gave them a sense of dignity but he didn't see anything wrong with them. He has dealt with the A-listers and Sam's parents, so he was ok with this. Not like he could do anything about it anyway, since it isn't his school.

Tsubaki was the next to ask. "Who would handle the problems at your school if there was no Student council?"

Danny thought about the events that his school had. "Well, the faculty dealt with the money and events and tended to task some of the students to prep things. The money came from some of the richest parents so their kids would get out of doing any sort of manual labor toward the events."

Souna frowned at that. "That sounds irresponsible. Despite the money coming from the parents, the students should still contribute to the school."

Danny shrugged. "Well, I wasn't part of the rich group, I was just the wimpy kid of the school." He noticed that the two girls looked at each other, almost as if they were having a personal conversation. 'They must be close if they can do that.' He noticed that it was taking a lot longer than he thought it was but when he saw Souna shift to look outside of the car at the window behind Tsubaki.

Souna looked back at Danny and nodded toward the window. "We have arrived."

Danny blinked as he looked outside and saw that they were now in a residential area. Houses that had short walls and gates. Not only that, but the sun had gone down. He must not have realized it during their conversation. He hummed as he figured that they would drive past them and stop at an apartment building, but to his surprise, they stopped at one two-story house, with beige walls and a dark blue roofing. "Wait….. This is where I'm staying?!"

Souna nodded. "Yes, it was all set up for you to live and you are allowed to do what you wish with interior decoration. It is already furnished so you do not have to worry about purchasing anything."

Danny remained sitting in the car as he stared at the house that was given to him. "Uh…"

After a few minutes, Tsubaki spoke up. "We should go inside so you can begin to acclimate yourself."

Danny shook his head before he looked back at them and sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. "Right, sorry." He grabbed his bag and opened the door before moving to the trunk. All the while, keeping his gaze on the house. 'This can't be real. Are they gonna push on it and it turns out to be an elaborate picture in front of a shack?' He grabbed his traveling case and watched as Souna and Tsubaki walked to the door. He moved to catch up with them and saw Souna use a key to open the door. 'Ok, not fake.'

The three walked inside and the two females stood to the side of the small shoe area and gestured for him to walk inside.

Danny walked past them and could not believe that he was given this house to live in while he was there. He could see a kitchen to the left, a living room with a couch, carpet, table, seats, and a TV on the wall. Across the living room was a sliding glass door that led to a decent size backyard, to the side was a staircase to the second floor and a hallway that had two rooms and a bathroom at the end of the hall.

Danny felt like he was dreaming and pinched himself, only to find that he wasn't dreaming and this was real. "Holy crap." (1)

The two girls were amused by his reaction before Souna spoke up.

"Your bedroom is on the second floor, but you are allowed to use any of the other rooms on the first floor if you wish." She brought her hand up, presenting the key. "This is the only copy of the key, so be sure not to lose it."

Danny turned around and walked up to them. "Oh, um, thanks for this." He took the key from her before nervously rubbing the back of his neck. "This is…. A lot to take in. I expected a hotel room or boarding house with the other students, not….. This." He stretched his arm out to gesture at the house they were in.

Souna nodded. "There is no boarding house for the school, and with the recent change to the gender ratio, it would be unwise to do so."

Danny thought about it and could see the issue. He did know about boarding houses that had both genders but he figured it wouldn't be fair if there were only a few boys in a building full of girls. Though that did sound like a man's fantasy life. "Alright, anyway, thanks for bringing me here."

Souna nodded. "It was no trouble. You will begin your classes in three days. I will have one of my council members meet you on that day so they can lead you to your class." She and Tsubaki bowed to him as they had finished their task.

Danny remembered that bowing was a show of respect and the lower you bow, the more respect you show. Thinking about the image he saw during his research, he stepped back and bowed at a ninety-degree angle. He heard a small chuckle before tilting his head to look up. He saw Souna and Tsubaki smile at him before he stood up straight. "Did I do that wrong or something?"

Souna shook her head. "No, it was correct, though I don't believe you needed to bow that low."

Danny sheepishly chuckled. "Sorry, I'm still trying to figure things out." (2)

"You'll learn." she turned around and stepped out the door before looking over her shoulder. "We will see you at school, Danny." The two girls began to leave, only for Tsubaki to stop as it looked like she remembered something.

"Oh, we were also informed that your funds for any necessities will be delivered at the end of the week, afterward, you can expect them to arrive at the end of every month."

Danny's eyes widened again as he didn't know he was getting paid. Sure, it was for necessities, food, and the stuff if he guessed right, but still. "Oh, uh,... Thanks."

Tsubaki nodded before following Souna, leaving the boy to his own devices.

Danny turned around and looked at the house he was now in before looking at his traveling case. "Now I really feel like I packed light." He looked at the stairs and began to walk up to the second floor to find his bedroom.

The second floor had three bedrooms and a bathroom, his bedroom was at the end of the hallway and looked to be the biggest one while the others were smaller. The bathroom was the first door on the right. The two bedrooms were on the left side and looked identical.

Danny entered his room and saw it had a large king-size bed, a walk-in closet, and a personal bathroom. The window had a view of the street since his new house was at the corner of the street, so he didn't have to worry about neighbors peaking in. The bed had a nightstand on each side with a lamp on each one.

Danny could not believe that this was his new room as he compared it to his room back home. He saw his new uniform hanging on the coat hook of the closet door and figured that he would have to try it on to make sure that it fit. Looking around, he saw a piece of paper on the left nightstand and he walked over to pick it up. He cut off the ecto energy in his throat and began to speak in English. "Ok, so this is my class… man, I know my life is weird but this is just… crazy." He sat on his bed, something that he still had trouble grasping before flopping back onto it. He made a small mental note of how comfortable the bed was but had something else that was bugging him. "What the heck is that damn buzzing feeling in the back of my head?"

That was something he had been feeling ever since he met Tsubaki and Souna, and it got even more noticeable when they entered the town, but he just had no idea what it was. It was less, now that the girls left, but it was still there. "Argh, whatever. This is the start of a simple easy-going vacation. Sure, I have school and stuff, but at least I won't have to fight ghosts every thirty minutes." He brought up a finger and lit it up in energy. "Looks like I can give my powers a break for now." He sighed as he dispelled his energy and folded his arms behind his head.

~Meanwhile~

Sona Sitri sat across from Tsubaki as the atmosphere in the limo was a lot more serious than it was before. "What are your thoughts?"

Tsubaki sat up straight as she gave her analysis. "There is something off about him. I could sense something coming off his form but I did not recognize what it could be."

Sona nodded. "I also did not recognize it as it was…..subdued. One thought that came to me is that it might be a sacred gear, and if it is, he might or might not be aware of it. His personality seems to be very open but whether he is hiding it or not is…inconclusive. It seemed to be focused around his head but I don't know enough to make a solid conclusion."

Tsubaki nodded. "He does seem to be hiding something but he seemed genuine in not knowing why he was here. If he knew that he had a sacred gear, he might have given us a tell that he was aware that was the reason, given his openness. But he didn't give off the impression on whether that was the case or not."

Sona looked out the window as she crossed her arms. "He does give off the idea that he is hiding something, but it might not be what we believe. If he has a sacred gear, his life could be in danger. We might need to -" She paused in her speech as she sharply looked over her shoulder, out the back window. "Can you-?"

Tsubaki shook her head as her voice grew in seriousness. "No, it disappeared!"

The two were about to vacate the limo and fly back but paused as they felt the weird signature from Danny's residence again. It was slightly stronger but it didn't fluctuate, meaning he wasn't using it to fight. After a few seconds, it disappeared once more. They focused on his location again but they didn't feel anything that would suggest that there was someone else in the area.

Sona relaxed as she made sure that there wasn't anyone else nearby before looking at her Queen. "It appears it was nothing. He might have accidentally increased its power for a brief moment before subduing it. I cannot feel it anymore so he should be safe from being detected. What I was about to suggest was that we keep an eye on him for the time being to make sure if he possesses anything or if he is part of another faction."

Tsubaki nodded. "We can have one of our members watch him for some time after school. While in school, we only need to keep watch passively." She thought about who they could have watch him after school hours before she smiled knowingly at Sona. "Will you be informing Rias about this?"

Sona gave a fond hum as she looked out the window. "I have no claim over him and we are unaware if he possesses anything worth my remaining pieces. I was only tasked with bringing him here, nothing else. We will wait and see if there is a more important reason for bringing him to our school." Despite her saying this, she can't help but feel that something else was going on, as this was the first time anything like a foreign student had been invited to Kuoh Academy.
