"This old man. He is the king, isn't he?" Sanguina asked, her voice steady but curious.
The man nodded. "I believe so. I am not too familiar with the ways of this world anymore. I come from a different place, meant to ensure the Dragoon remains sealed. That means I cannot lead you to anyone. I hope you understand."
"What do you mean?" Sanguina demanded, her eyes narrowing as she reached out to grab his shoulder. But her hand passed through his form as he turned to mist.
"I believe you might have the strength to handle him, but I must follow the proper order. You are not allowed to leave until you pass the trials like everyone else," he replied, his voice echoing around her.
A gust of mist swirled around Sanguina, cold and damp as it wrapped her. She spun around, trying to catch her bearings as the mist thickened, obscuring her vision. Magic prickled against her skin and made her shiver.
