Oz closes her eyes
And sleeps all around,
Out cold yet cherished —
she's with her deceased relatives.
.
Mottled, clammy skin
rot settles in.
.
Bumpy arms;
her children swarm.
.
Death blooms and joins the marrow ---
the castle walls echo,
the time slot is narrow.
.
Cold and rebound
You know its sound.
.
The tune of death
Escapes her breath;
Her last stages
Are seconds left.
.
Calming effects
Induce her rest.
She lays to sleep
and struggles to breathe;
This is how she planned for her final stages to be —
.
No more bruises
or skin of bubbles ---
no more rattles
that don't make death subtle.
.
She made her way to Heaven,
A cold breeze
Hits my knees,
Warmth radiates under my bed sheets.
.
She visits me
Feathers can be seen —
Nana, you can forever sleep
And enjoy Heaven's decadency.
.
I took my anger for granted,
the castle carried many moods,
of a trouble teen
who outgrew presidential schemes,
where the narc tree pins the leaves.
.
We made amends,
It was never you I resented.
The castle jewels forever gleam,
love fills the garden's stream.
.
I open the treasure chest,
Of trust, comfort, and safety —
Those mean more than money.
.
Eat your cupcakes
And send your breeze,
Because I love when you visit me,
Rest easy —
You're the true Oz to me.
