Limping towards the Unwebbed Spider corpse, he noticed the Spider Core glistening inside the corpse. It was coloured purple and shaped as a sphere. He slowly bent down and grabbed the glistening core that was somewhat covered in green blood and examined it. He noticed inside the the core contained a huge amount of condensed energy that would be beneficial for him to advance. Although it would probably take a couple more Nascent Realm Beast cores to advance to level 2, it still provided substantial amount of energy allowing him breakoff cultivating for a couple months.
Examining the rest of the spider, he could only sigh as the corpse was quite badly damaged but still decided to keep the corpse as he could still get a few spirit stones trading it in the Sect. For the time being, Yang Ning decided to sit on a clean spot inside the cave to recuperate from his injuries. Taking out 2 pills from his storage ring, he ate them together. The pills he consumed were called The Mending Body Pill and Mending Spirit Pill. As its name states, the Mendy Body Pill healed physical injuries while the Mending Spirit Pill recovered Spirit Energy.
After a day of recuperating, he opened his eyes and saw only darkness. The fire that raged inside the Cave was burnt out, hence Yang Ning stood up and grabbed his sword. Imitating the way he entered the burrow, he placed his sword in front of him and lit the tip of the sword with his fire energy. This time he added more energy to it so Yang Ning could see what was inside the cave. Walking towards the spider corpse, he noticed 2 eggs that was inside the abdomen.
"That's interesting" muttered Yang Ning to himself. He didn't notice the eggs after the battle ended as he was quite injured and the green blood had covered it. After a day with the blood drying out, it became more evident that the spider was carrying eggs.
"Should I destroy the eggs or keep it" pondered Yang Ning.
For a moment he didn't know which option was the best hence he decided on another outcome.
"I think ill just bring it and ask Master about it. Although there are records of the sect regarding Unwebbed Spiders, I'm not too sure if these eggs could be kept as sect beast or rearing them to be possible".
With that, he took the eggs and spider corpse, placing it inside his storage ring. Yang Ning decided to look around the cave if there was anything of interest but after searching around for awhile, there was nothing of interest. Even the beasts that scattered the cave and tunnels were of little value, hence Yang Ning didn't bother with it.
"It seemed like the Unwebbed Spider decided to burrow here just to lay its eggs. Quite unfortunate it met me" muttered Yang Ning.
He walked out of the cave and entered the long tunnel which lead to the exit. Seeing the sunlight at the end, he heaved a sigh of relief. Yang Ning originally calculated that the trip would of taken at least a week but didn't think in just under 2 days he would encounter a life and death situation with a Nascent Soul Realm beast. Seeing it was still midday, he decided to head back to the sect.
Flying in the same direction he entered the vast forest, he did not encounter any resistance exiting. He understood that the reason there wasn't any beast close by was because the Unwebbed Spider had eaten them all.
Upon nearing Sect, he sensed the presence of 2 sect elders, hence he quickly flashed his name tag. The sect elders that acted as guards then left him alone noticing it was Yang Ning. Wanting to meet with his master first he started to fly to the peak of Sky Peak Mountain. Upon seeing the courtyard where his master stayed in, he quickly descended.
The Sect masters courtyard was lavishly maintained and the materials used to construct his courtyard was very exquisite as compared to the rest of the Sect. It was very noticeable that someone with high prestige and power lived in this courtyard. Although the courtyard was empty of people, that didn't mean the courtyard itself was entirely empty. Just like Yang Ning, several elders and core disciples would report to him on a daily basis.
He hastily walked towards his masters study room as he knew that his master would generally be inside handling the sects affairs. Upon opening the door he saw his master reading some memos and on his table was a stash of books piled neatly
"Good afternoon Master" Yang Ning bowed politely
Sect Master Qing gently placed the memo he was reading on top of his desk, before using his left hand to signal to him to dispense the formalities
"Yang Ning no need to be formal, its just you and me here. Bring that chair on the side and have a seat with me"
Following his master instructions, he took the chair and sat opposite of him.
"Is everything okay Yang Ning?" asked Sect Master Qing curiously.
Facing his masters curious gaze, he calmly responded "Actually Master there's a few things I want to discuss with you. I recently went to test my strength In the South Mountain Valley and encountered a few things..."
Yang Ning went on to explain his short trip to his master. After a few minutes of explaining what happened, Sect Master Qing suddenly laughed
"You really slew an Unwebbed Demonic Spider that was stronger than you?"
"That's amazing..." said Master Qing in a surprised tone.
"Although there wasn't any treasures inside the cave, at least you obtained the beast core and its body. That is more than enough of a compensation despite overcoming the odds. I definitely didn't choose wrongly when making you my personal disciple" grinned Sect Master Qing.
"Even though the Spider's body is quite badly damaged, we can still process some of its body parts to make weapons, use for food or pills. Bring that over to the Inner Sect mission hall. They should know what to do and provide you the right compensation. As for the Beast core you obtained, keep it as it would help you reach level 2 Nascent Realm quicker"
"I had the same idea in mind Master."
Sect Master Qing nodded, agreeing with Yang Ning's decision. A brief pause ensued before Yang Ning wanted to ask about the eggs.
"Master, what do you think we should do with these eggs?".
Yang Ning brought out the 2 eggs that was inside his Storage Ring for his Master to observe.
The 2 eggs were of similar size of a clenched fist. Yang Ning placed the eggs on top of his Masters desk for him to investigate. Seeing his Master inspect the eggs, he silently sat down waiting for his master to respond.
Upon noticing his master had finishing inspecting the eggs, his master coolly voice out his opinion
"It definitely is an Unwebbed Spider Egg. Although I don't have a good understanding of Spider Beasts, it matches the Sects records of Unwebbed Spider eggs. Generally most beast will normally imprint in themselves the first living object they see. So if they hatch, and it sees you first, it will basically treat you as its parent. Most likely we can keep it or you can rear it and keep it as your beast pet."
Sect Master paused to have sip of tea before continuing
"Although our sect doesn't rear Spider beasts, we do rear other species of demonic beast. I think you should consult with Inner Sect Elder Li Xuan who has a niche skill in beast taming. From there you can make your own decision after you've discussed it with him"
"As you wish Master" responded Yang Ning respectfully.
What that, Sect Master Qing decided to change the topic, attempting to understand his disciples preparation regarding the mission he gave him.
"So how's your preparation for your mission going?" asked Sect Master Qing
"The map you gave me is quite vast and I only have a rudimentary outline of what I need to do. I'll need a bit more time before I can give you a more satisfactory update"
"That's fine Yang Ning, just take your time. You still have a year to prepare"
After discussing a few minor details, Yang Ning bowed to his Master and left his courtyard, heading to where Elder Li was.
