Baron Lawrence noticed her subtle movements, but didn't react much, just looked at her with even more detachment.
Oscar didn't expect Skye Lawrence to step in front of him right away, and in front of Baron Lawrence no less. He was stunned for a second, looked deeply at Skye, then stepped out from behind her with a usual gentle smile on his face, squinting with a look that was both real and unreal, and stared intently at the person in the car, "President Lawrence, driving all the way here, you're not here to congratulate me on getting out, are you?"
"What do you think?"
Oscar remained calm, shrugged his shoulders, and said steadily, "I think it's more likely that President Lawrence came to see me make a fool of myself, but from what I know of you, you're not that bored. So I don't know why you're here."
Skye Lawrence tightened her hand by her side imperceptibly, looking towards Baron Lawrence with intense nervousness, as if afraid he would say something she couldn't bear.
