Elliot Carpenter saw Adrian Desmond, snorted coldly from his nose, and reproached,
"Adrian, you're increasingly disregarding me, your uncle. I came specifically to find you, and you made me wait for so long?"
Adrian explained politely, "I'm sorry, I'll make sure to be more attentive next time. Uncle, what are you here for?"
"The woman in your family can't tolerate Melanie, and I've given up. I asked you to help introduce some good men to Melanie. How's that coming along?"
Adrian put away his smile, fiddling with the ring on his ring finger, "Uncle, some of our relatives and friends are aware of my history with Melanie. I don't think I'm suited to be a matchmaker."
"You also know she was once your wife. Now you have a wife and a child, while Melanie is still all alone. Can your conscience bear that?"
"Uncle, most of the people I know are already married, and there aren't many suitable ones. You know a lot of people too, why not help find one for Melanie among them?"
