Chapter 110 - Hello, Readers!!

Someone asked about it, and to answer that. I'm swapping POV's, and if it wasn't obvious, this is after the whole I-Island event, and now the class returns to UA, since they can't stay there obviously.

Izuku sat up slowly.

Every movement reminded him exactly how damaged his body still was.

His muscles protested immediately. His ribs felt tight. His left arm practically begged him to lie back down and stop existing for another week.

"…Ow…"

Still, he managed.

Carefully adjusting himself against the hospital bed, Izuku looked over the pile of gifts again.

There were handwritten notes tucked under some of them.

A stress ball from Uraraka.

An unnecessarily expensive vitamin set from Yaoyorozu.

A strangely aggressive-looking cactus from Mina with a sticky note reading:

"HE'S PRICKLY JUST LIKE KACCHAN LOL"

There was even a bag of peeled oranges from Tsuyu.

Perfectly organized.

Of course they were.

Izuku smiled weakly.

Then his eyes drifted toward Todoroki's contribution.

The plain bowl-shaped bag.

Carefully, he opened it.

Cold soba.

Perfectly arranged.

Even the dipping sauce was separated neatly.

There wasn't a note attached.

There didn't need to be one.

Izuku stared at it for a moment before quietly laughing to himself.

"…This really is from Todoroki."

He picked up the chopsticks.

The noodles were cold, smooth, slightly nutty—

Simple.

And weirdly comforting.

As he ate, a strange feeling settled over him.

Peace.

Not excitement.

Not adrenaline.

Just… peace.

The fight was over.

Everyone was alive.

Denki survived.

Iida survived.

All Might survived.

Even after all the destruction, all the fear, all the blood—

Things had somehow turned out okay.

Izuku lowered his gaze slightly.

"…This isn't so bad," he admitted quietly.

And honestly?

For once—

It really wasn't.

Elsewhere aboard the aircraft—

Toshinori Yagi sat quietly near one of the windows, wrapped in enough bandages to concern several medical professionals simultaneously.

His massive hero form was gone.

All that remained was the thin, worn-down body beneath the symbol.

Yet despite everything—

He was alive.

The steady drone of the aircraft engines filled the cabin as moonlight filtered through the clouds outside.

Across from him sat David Shield.

Tired.

Older than before.

The events on I-Island had carved something heavy into the man's expression.

For a while, neither spoke.

Then David sighed deeply.

"Toshinori…" he murmured.

All Might looked over.

David adjusted his glasses weakly.

"Your body is wrecked after that one."

There was no humor in his voice.

No dramatic flair.

Just honest concern.

"You can't keep pushing yourself like this."

All Might smiled faintly.

The same smile he always used.

The one meant to reassure people.

But David saw through it immediately.

"If you stayed on I-Island," David continued quietly, "and we committed to long-term intensive treatment… years of rehabilitation… I genuinely believe we could restore you close to your prime."

All Might's expression softened slightly.

"…David."

"But," David interrupted gently, already knowing the answer, "I know you too well to believe you'd stay."

Silence settled again.

Outside the window, clouds drifted endlessly beneath them.

"You'd never sit still while people needed saving," David said.

All Might looked down at his hands.

Scarred.

Thin.

Weak.

Yet still reaching forward.

"…Perhaps," he admitted softly.

David sighed through his nose before leaning back.

"You're impossible."

"I've been told that often."

Despite everything—

They both smiled a little.

Old friends.

Still carrying the same impossible burdens.

Back in Izuku's room—

He had just finished another bite of soba when the door suddenly slid open.

"Oi."

Izuku nearly jumped.

Standing in the doorway—

Bakugo Katsuki.

Alive.

Bandaged.

Scowling.

Naturally.

Behind him stood Tenya Iida, wrapped heavily enough to resemble a recovering mummy, supported slightly by a cane.

And beside him—

Kurokami Tenshin.

Who immediately brightened upon seeing Izuku awake.

"Oh! He's alive!"

"I was always alive!" Izuku protested instinctively.

"You were unconscious for days," Kuro countered cheerfully. "That's basically half-dead."

Bakugo clicked his tongue and shoved his hands into his pockets.

"Quit yelling already, nerd. You sound like a dying frog."

"You came to visit me?!" Izuku blurted out.

Bakugo's face twisted instantly.

"DON'T SAY IT LIKE THAT!"

"Calm down, Bakugo," Iida said tiredly. "You're disturbing the recovering patient."

"You literally dragged me here, four-eyes!"

"That is objectively false."

Kuro leaned casually against the doorway.

"To be fair, Bakugo did complain the whole way here."

"I WASN'T COMPLAINING!"

"You called hospitals 'depressing germ caves.'"

"BECAUSE THEY ARE!"

Izuku stared at them.

The noise.

The arguing.

The absolute nonsense energy filling the room.

And somehow—

It felt nice.

Really nice.

Iida adjusted his glasses automatically—

Only to pause awkwardly because his replacement pair clearly still felt unfamiliar.

"…Midoriya," he said more quietly. "It is good to see you awake."

The sincerity in his voice softened the room slightly.

Even Bakugo looked away instead of immediately insulting him.

Kuro grinned.

"You missed a lot while sleeping."

Izuku looked between them.

"…Like what?"

Bakugo smirked viciously.

"Kuro lost a point competition against icy-hot."

Kuro gasped in betrayal.

"TODOROKI CHEATED."

"He absolutely didn't," Iida sighed.

"He robbed me through technicality."

Bakugo folded his arms smugly.

"Sounds like a skill issue."

"You literally lost to a staircase."

"That STAIRCASE attacked me."

Izuku couldn't stop it.

A laugh escaped him.

Weak.

Tired.

But real.

And for the first time since waking up—

The room finally felt normal again.
