Amelia PoV
I pulled back my bow, aiming at one of the targets. Staying cooped up was starting to get to me, so I decided to go to the palace's range to clear my head.
The arrow struck the center of the target with a satisfying thud.
"Nice shot," the sultan called out, making my skin crawl.
He was leaning against a wall of the range, watching me with an unnerving smile. Zayn and Farid were with him, their expressions unreadable.
"Your Majesty," I said, putting on my best smile. "I didn't expect to see you here."
"I could say the same about you," he said, pushing himself off the wall. "I thought you'd be resting after the feast."
"I needed some fresh air," I said, pulling another arrow from my quiver. "Archery helps me clear my head."
He walked over to me, his eyes lingering on my bow. "That's a fine weapon. A Suyume bow, if I'm not mistaken."
"It was a gift," I said, my tone cool.
"From the Shadow Knight, I presume?" he asked, a smirk on his face.
