After eating, we returned to the training grounds, the sun now high in the sky.
"So, how does this work?" I asked, holding up the atzurie.
Eumhun took the stone from me. "You need to channel your own energy into it. But for that, you need to connect with the light." She took a deep breath. "Close your eyes."
I did as she said, the warmth of the sun on my face.
"Now, feel the light," she said, her voice a gentle murmur. "Not just the sun's light, but the light within you. The light of life, of hope, of courage."
I tried, but all I could feel was the pounding of my own heart, the sweat on my brow, the fear coiling in my gut.
"I can't," I said, my voice strained.
"Relax," she said, her tone patient. "Don't force it. Let it come to you."
