Maggie Lauper noticed that Kallie and Even Adams were chatting passionately, completely forgetting her presence. She coughed softly to remind them she was still there.
It was only then that Even remembered he had some collaboration matters to discuss with Maggie. Though reluctant, he said to Kallie, "I have something to deal with right now. I'll ask Miss Scott out another day to have a good chat."
"No problem, you guys go ahead and talk. I'll come find you when I'm done," said Maggie, then she walked away.
Once Maggie left, Even and Kallie resumed their enthusiastic conversation.
That evening, the two made arrangements to have dinner together.
Even took great care of Kallie and put her at ease by accommodating her at the Horizon Hotel. Food, drinks, and lodging were all on his tab.
Kallie liked generous men; Even's actions naturally pleased her.
The progress of Even and Kallie's relationship was rapid. They started dating the day after they met.
