Chapter 592 - Chapter 592: Regrets

It was a most eventful night for everyone abroad. Tsukiya and Enenra were working together to ensure they were given supplies and resources needed to stave off any issues of hunger or thirst when they begin to travel again. Adel would be keeping a watchful eye out for the populace, slowly doing his own investigation by being social, reaching out and talking with them when they got their proper rest. A small thing to note, for the Serpent, was that the more he interacted with the people, the more he noticed they were getting rocky. Their skin looked like it was about to peel off, the grey pigments only being visible instead of traditional muscles or blood. It made his concerns rise when he understood they may not be human and that they need medical attention, but the populace simply shakes their head, assuring him that they're fine. No matter who it was, be it man, woman, or children, it was always the same answer: "I'm fine." He was quick on regrouping with the Descendants and the other children in wanting to share such news, but they'd end up accidentally bursting in on a tantrum.

The Vampiress with her massive hammer, swinging it down again and again, in an effort to crush Fenrir over and over, with many people attempting to pull them apart or block for the Chain Breaker in his place.

"WHY!!?!? WHY ARE YOU BACK!?!? HOW ARE YOU BACK!!? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH YOU HURT MOMMY!??!" She'd scream, violently swinging her magic like it was another arm, so fluent in its movements. Even if the Chain Breaker's capable of disarming the spell, the fact it was able to remove energy and place it elsewhere meant it could very much backfire and spark back into his own throat, most likely a near death situation on his own head.

"N-now, Now! Let's not-" The beast barked, desperate to calm the situation, yet Applin kept pushing.

"YOU LEFT MOMMY! YOU LEFT ME!! I WAS SO SCARED, DADDY! I THOUGHT... I THOUGHT..."

"That I was gone?"

More frustrated screams from the Vampiress as she kept swinging, violently going at the wolf with no hesitation, yet with each swing, her eyes were beginning to well up. Her mind was made up, but her grip was shaking by the handle. "...Why did you left us? Why did you left Mommy? Why did you left ME!? I thought there was nothing worth in this world without you... I wanted to see you so badly, so much, but I never thought I have my wish come true... LET ALONE LIKE THIS! I thought my life was over, Daddy. I thought that was it. Had my Darling not help me, I thought my purpose was done..." She was starting to sob in her words, as Fenrir noticed her rage was being tempered. The Wolf would glare at the others to part, as he'd approach her and lay his body down beside her, letting the small tufts signal for her to let go and hold him. It was an aggressive grab at first, almost wanting to tear it apart, but as he spoke, the grip slipped once again.

"I... am so sorry for hurting you, my dear. You did not deserve that level of incompetence from a Father figure. You do not deserve me after making you feel this way. I failed..." Such somberness would slowly start to break down the Vampiress, her mind flooded with guilt and regret. She was almost tempted to push him away, to punch at something with no rhyme or reason, but her body couldn't bring herself into doing such acts. She was hurt, and Fenrir can see it clearly in her heartbroken eyes. The beast lowered its head, letting it be held close, letting her finally be on her knees and hug whom was her father, before sobbing uncontrollably. An ugly cry that borders on manic, wanting nothing else in this world than having him back again properly. To see him become a beast made her lose all sense of proper self in that moment.

And just as quick, the beast gave a small lick, an attempt of a father's kiss to her head, an attempt to let her know he will remain by her side once more. As the two embraced, with Applin struggling to stand properly and wanting to collapse her body in the wolf's body for some level of comfort, Tsukiya and Enenra would try to slowly move themselves from the unfolding scene, visibly uncomfortable by how depressing such air has wafted in the area. They'd silently tried to ask one of the children what was going on, yet most of them merely shrugged and had no clue what was going on. Harvard, meanwhile, did a cutting gesture on his throat, a sign to tell them this wasn't the correct time to ask such things. Eustace would see such bonds and looked away, his own eyes darting into the clay walls. Solomon would notice this shift, moreso when the Knight of Shadows took his leave. "Where are you going?" The Biblical Sorcerer asked, yet no answer. The child ran off to give chase to the Knight, his movements being somewhat suspicious.

As they settled down, Jormungan would be the next to speak. "Sooooo, I suppose you have a lot of-" He'd begin, before Harvard was quick to the chase.

"Save it. We have a guy who's gonna die in 7 months and another guy who wants to shoot the sun." He'd respond.

"Oh thank goodness! I was worried I was gonna have to be just as sappy as those two- GAH!" Immediately a hammer to Jormungan's tail, taking the comment to heart, as the World Eater recoiled a bit and backed away from the father and daughter. "Sheesh! My fault! Didn't expect you were still grieving." Another hammer, then another, then another, as the Wolf was desperate to hold her daughter back. The World Eater panicked and scattered across the room, swatting the doors by accident, loud noises made in such skirmishes. "YOUNG MAN! HELP ME!!"

"You LITERALLY were asking for it. This is on you, buddy!"

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN I ASKED FOR IT!? ALL I SAID WAS-" His words were cut off as Applin threw a whole bed into Jormungan's beast, watching as the girl was getting more and more ravenous with every second, more noise being raised as a result. Clearly, she was not having it.
