Eustace wasted no time trying to guarantee his connection with the newly formed Mephisto, quickly having his blade sink in the darkness and nick at the beast, letting it change the blade and produce another set of threads. While it may not carry the same magic, at least in his assumptions, such threads can be used as his secondary weapon to tangle and bind when need be. Jormungan and Fenrir would get up after their rough attacks, letting them take breathers, before running ahead and attempting to swarm the Knight on both sides. Such large bodies didn't made him budge, as he'd let the Red latch to the two, letting them clash once more, as Eustace got to work wrapping around them.
He was being wary of Fenrir's moves. One bite, and it comes undone, forcing him to start from the beginning again. Even as he'd hop from building to building with the Black Thread, the two were just as quick to see and remove it. Jormungan would have the threads constantly absorbed, just enough for Fenrir to be close by and bite it. Every chance he took, it only just made more fall down. An idea, then, came to his mind, as he'd start to tie the thread in small knots, setting up two instead of one. The second wrappings came to, and while it worked against the bite by having the 'knot' merely unwind the second thread to re-bind them, Jormungan's absorption was being more and more strenuous to handle. Consumed and regurgitated, the fangs quickly began to grow and showcase such potential, slowly making its own red thread and picking it up as a temporary style, flossing the energy down from such canines and his Canine, letting them act as proper garrot wires to sever the bonds. "If I'm not rude to ask... why exactly do you wish to keep us away from them so much? Are you worried we're going to hurt them?" The World Eater asked.
"Of course I am!" The Knight replied as he'd prepare the threads again, letting it wind across his arms to act as both the fate and the action behind both. "If I have to bear the responsibility of tending to another child and-"
"Fumble it? Far as I know, those two were competent enough to match us. They had an answer, you're piggybacking it." Silence would befell on the Knight, knowing fully well the beast was right. Regardless, the threads shared a vision again, though now both were guaranteed to get Eustace injured in some capacity. Both showed feats of taking out such a monster temporarily in the same way he took care of Fenrir. Doing so, however, results in two paths: Bitten in half at the Chain Breaker and risking his magic to be taken in, or slashed and have his neck cut by Jormungan's adapting wires. Despite the former option being a safer bet, the Knight of Shadows new better.
Jormungan's the bigger threat. Dealing with him means less problems.
He'd rush ahead to the World Serpent, already feeling the tight tug around his neck, a silver and black noose, ready to pull and slice his head clean off. He'd pull down the strings to his side, the shadows' hand cut through and exposing the darkness deep inside. With it, he'd prevent it from going too far into his blackened mass for skin, but it was just enough to cut through and expose the arteries deep within. He'd push his luck further, letting his own black threads bind between the two, already feeling the sinking effect. Once he was dragged in, he needn't need to worry about the strangulation, as the wires would slash through the stomach, sawing it ahead, using it as a physical weapon rather than a magical tether. Jormungan groaned and wailed as he'd be cut into, reeling back as he'd feel Eustace claw his escape, watching Fenrir take a leap and try to bite into the Knight's exposed neckline. Even with such punishment, the Knight pushed on, setting up the binds once more, wrapping it around the massive wolf, punishing it for daring to take such a risk. Even with such efforts, he can already see the Chain Breaker live up to its name, biting down and scratching at the wiring, already cutting through it. Once more, he'd take the tethers and try to attach itself to Fenrir in the hopes he guarantees another clean shot.
Snap!
The beast severed the strings before it connected, preventing one of two truths from appearing before Eustace. Only one path laid forward, a gruesome one at that. One in which his head was ripped cleanly off, his arms sacrificed to attach the black thread and wire his jaw shut. Populace was starting to be on its rise, as well, meaning if he doesn't choose now, there may lie a worse fate for the two once Wyvios takes notice. In that desperate time, he'd take the risk.
SHIKK!!!!
Alas, he shall take it with his own hand. His arms were cut by his own threads, tossing them towards the Chain Breaker's maw as it lunged forward and attempted an attack. Because of the lighting coming out from Fenrir's mouth as it attempted a discharge of iron, aiming to fulfill his end of the bargain and guarantee the Knight's demise, shadows can be nestled within the gums and molars. Shadows which would enact his Style to warp to, letting it grip ahold with the wirings and pull it down, forcing the discharge to remain in place, damaging his mouth in its entirety, melting the tongue and muscles with such brutal force, muffled screams as it attempted to bite its way out. The wiring's on the inside, however, meaning no true opening was available to let it be free. All it could do in this instance is struggle and wail, as it succumbed to its own injuries, collapsing, as holes were visible across the mouth to indicate the heavy burns and lashings it endured. Eustace would pant and fall in the same way, having bested two monsters at once, having to do it all before the public saw.
He grew a smile once he saw Mephisto, the last one standing, the one summoned by the Card Magician, reach out to try and grab them. It also made him wonder how strong such monsters truly were, in comparison to a lowly knight such as himself. "Maybe later..." he thinks to himself. "Let's just hope they found our opening..."
