"Of course not." Leo glared down at her as if she'd said something ridiculous. "Why would she need to know something like that? It's a different part of my life that has nothing to do with Ilse."
"I don't think she'd see it that way, my lord. Ilse wants a faithful man. Most women do, I can promise you." Violet snapped her reply. She couldn't believe how the prince was justifing his behaviour.
Did all men think all their encounters with other women could just be excused? How unbelievably arrogant.
Leo's jaw jutted out stubbornly. He was obviously not enjoying the general direction of conversation. "She doesn't need to know about any of that and she's not going to know. Because who's going to tell her? You?"
"Well, what if I did?" she asked quietly. "What if I told Ilse the truth, to spare her the pain of finding out from someone else that you're dallying behind her back?"
"You have no proof of that."
