"Is that so?"
Upon hearing the words of Carter, the old woman coldly sneered, "How come I remember... earlier, when Wyatt Barnes wasn't present, you still specially bought him an hour's time?"
"If you didn't know he was coming... would you have bought him time?"
"Do you really think I'm so easy to deceive?!"
As she spoke, the old woman's voice grew increasingly cold, imparting a sense of winter's arrival.
Carter, being targeted, bore the brunt of it. He felt as though he'd fallen into an ice cellar, his complexion turning as pale as paper in an instant, devoid of any blood.
"Senior..."
Carter still wanted to say something.
"Hmph!"
With a cold snort, a fierce light flashed in the old woman's eyes, and yet no visible action was taken.
The next moment.
With a thud!
The body of Carter, standing motionless, suddenly trembled violently, and a bloody hole opened on his forehead, draining all life from him in an instant.
Bang!
