(Kaori POV, 1 year later)
Honestly, the Library spoiled me, even though it took a whole year it was worth it, all this information was so valuable and awesome in many ways.
For example, I managed to completely read the entire library, and all it took was me taking only one nap per month. I know it seems extreme but right now I'm a soul, I have no need to sleep, eat or anything else that a human body needs.
With that said I was ordered by Wexof to take some time off every now and then for me to not lose my sanity, which almost happened several times before Wexof had to intervene, hehe sorry.
Anyway, back to the subject, I managed to memorize a lot of information regarding Pokemon from several media, although I can't be 100% sure it'll work on the world Wexof will send me, I still found it amusing, nonetheless.
I stand up and stretch as I hear a small alarm ring.
"Time's up kid, herring out of here!" Wexof appeared out of nowhere and grabbed me by the arm before teleporting me away.
We appeared in front of a portal.
"Ok, I'll give you a packet with things you need to know because you're running out of time, bye-bye, see you later, go!" Wexof spoke so fast I barely registered what he said before he pushed me into the portal.
As I fell through it, I was stoked to see what type of adventure I'd have.

(Third Person POV)
Kaori woke up once again in an unfamiliar place, a room nicely arranged with a bag lying on the bed.
'Hm…looks like this is the package Wexof talked about' Kaori thought as he opened the bag.
The first thing that he saw was a letter addressed to him.
[Dear Kaori, sorry for the inconvenience but you did spent the whole year in my dimension, this letter is to tell you a couple of things about the world you're in, if you keep wondering how long this letter is then stop doing it, it's magic.]
If there's something Kaori learned in his year living in Wexof's home is that things like this are indeed better left unquestioned.
[This world is a combination of the Anime, Games and Manga, yes, even some of those fan games you saw in my library and even those you played back in your first life. This include some egg moves, abilities and types that may not match the "canon" knowledge so, enjoy.]
Kaori felt ecstatic after reading the news, he can't wait to meet the several protagonists and then proceed to defeat them in battle, if he can that is.
[Now, about your identity, you'll find your ID in the bag in which you'll see your home region, you're an orphan who's currently going to the Kanto Region in order to get your professor certification by Prof Oak since you have to work an internship for half a year, you did tell me that's one of your goals.]
'Oh, how kind of him.' Kaori thought with care, Wexof told him that there was a limitation regarding what he could and couldn't do, so it was nice that this made it through.
Why Oak? Because it's Kaori's favorite Professor. Especially since he became comic relief in later seasons.
[Inside the bag is the aforementioned ID alongside 30K Pokedollars, your Chimchar Egg, 10 Pokeballs and finally a sketchbook with a color pack for you to paint and draw.]
Yeah, Kaori did more than just read in the library, he also drew and painted several images, more specifics the illustration rates of the TCG, which he enjoyed due to how beautiful some of those are.
[That's all for now, enjoy this second life and regarding religion-wise subjects, just ignore that, Arceus doesn't even pay attention to prayers. PS: This note is non-threatening self-destructing.]
Just as Kaori read that last part, the note dissolved into various particles and disappeared from sight.
After blinking for a few seconds, Kaori looked inside his bag and found his Chimchar egg, the light-orange color around it with a soft base showed that it was indeed a healthy one, Kai picked it up and hugged it for a while, physical contact with an egg you're going to raise is important for their bond.
After a while, he laid the egg on the bed and rummaged through the bag, he found a small envelope with the words ID on it so no brainer what that was.
Opening it, Kaori's face shifted into that of surprise.
[ID NO: 250405.
Name: Kaori.
Gender: ♂
Date of Birth: April 25th.
Home Region: Star.]
'Star Region? But that would mean that…!' Kaori thought in distress as he remembered some key details about said region.
The Star Region, a fanmade region of the game Pokemon Reloaded, it's an awesome game in which the player could control the Pokemon when battling, kinda like what they tried to do in Legends ZA, but done much better.
The region was so filled with life that EVERY Pokemon of EVERY region was living/coexisting within Star, however, there's another side to this story.
'That book about the Star Region said that Star is under lockdown thanks to Team Rekiem, no one enters nor leaves the region, which makes me one of the lucky few that managed to leave.' Kaori brainstormed about the most possible outcome before nodding.
Kaori decided to leave those thoughts to rest and decided to just focus on his current task: Meeting Prof Oak and get his so cherished Professor tittle.
[Dear Passengers, we'll be arriving at Vermillion City in 10 minutes, thanks for choosing S.S. Anne as your traveling option.]
After hearing the announcement, Kaori picked up his egg, why Wexof didn't give him an incubator is beyond him, picked his bag and before leaving took a good look at himself in the mirror.
His appearance is just him in his teen years, black hair, brown eyes, his face was devoid of all sights of the illness that once plagued his body. His clothes are new to him, an orange shirt with black long-sleeves, dark blue gloves with maroon tones near the fingers, black cargo pants with lots of pockets, yellow sports shoes with white soles and to complement the whole look, a Verizon Hat from PKM GO.
He took a look at himself and nodded, feeling secure with his new look, new life, and new chance. Kaori took his Chimchar egg and with a deep breath, left his room.
(Few minutes later)
Kaori disembarks into Vermillion City, the entire coastal city looks delightful, the fresh sea breeze, the people hanging around with their Pokemon.
He realized that carrying a Pokémon egg brings some "unwanted" attention, so he decided to carry it in his bag.
"Ok, time to find Officer Jenny." Kaori muttered as he walked with a smile.
As to why look for her, Kaori inferred that she'd be the most trustworthy person to escort him to Pallet Town or at least contact someone to do so.
However, he didn't need to walk for long before seeing someone wearing a lab coat with a huge makeshift sign with KAORI on all caps and stars around his name.
'I guess that's for me.' Kaori looked amused at the sign before walking towards the man.
"Hello, I'm Kaori, are you here to pick me up?" Kaori asked the scientist.
"ID." The scientist replied.
Kaori immediately took out his ID; the Scientist took it for a second before taking out a tablet and started typing on it.
After a few seconds he nodded and adjusted his glasses.
"A pleasure meeting you Kaori, my name is Jay and I'm one of Prof Oak's aides. I'll be the one escorting you to Pallet Town." The scientist, Jay, presents himself before taking out a Pokeball and throwing it upwards.
*WHIP* *FWOOM*
From the small device appeared a large Dragonite appeared with two seats holstered in its back.
Kaori immediately geeked out and approached the dragon-type.
"Excuse me, can I touch you?" Kaori asked Dragonite.
Jay found the question a bit confusing and Dragonite himself didn't find it that weird as he's been studied by his own trainer for a long time.
"Aroo!" Dragonite nodded as he held his arms high.
Kaori smiled as he immediately started looking and gently touching Dragonite's body.
"The scales are glistening in their natural light, showing that his nutrition is adequate, the antenna-horns on his head are firm and strong, meaning it gets enough exercise, his belly presents an uneven amount of stripes, meaning that he's a male, the scales of his wings are soft but flexible, showing that they're cleaned regularly to prevent any obstruction during flight...…" Kaori started rambling as he continued to inspect Dragonite.
Dragonite himself was feeling a bit shy since it's been a while since someone complimented him this much.
Jay on the other hand was looking at Kaori in amusement, the detail in his overview far exceeded that of a newbie, it's almost as if he's spent a long time living amongst Dragonite in order to know this much.
'Guess the Professor didn't accept his request out of pity nor amusement, this kid...might be a genius.' Jay thought as Kaori started drawing Dragonite in his sketchbook.
"AHEM!" Jay fake coughed to get Kaori's attention.
Kaori realized he got too into Dragonite and blushed in embarrassment.
"Sorry! I got too excited with this, what is the schedule sir?" Kaori.
"See those seats on Dragonite's back? Sit on the lower one while I take the higher one. Well fly to get to Pallet Town in no time." Jay explained as he climbed up Dragonite's back and sat on the higher seat.
Dragonite lowered his body to ease Kaori's climbing, but he looked a tad uneasy.
"Excuse me, sir, I kinda have a delicate "package" if you will in my bag." Kaori looked a bit shy.
"I didn't receive any information regarding that, what kind of package?" Jay asked.
"The egg kind." Kaori answered honestly.
There was no reason to lie, better come with things like this straight up.
Jay looked a bit shocked by this revelation but regained his composure fairly quickly.
"Alright, just give your bag to Dragonite, he can carry easily the bag without even shaking it at all." Jay instructed Kaori.
Kaori nodded and gave Dragonite the bag.
"Be careful, there's a baby there." Kaori informed Dragonite.
"Aaaroo." Dragonite nodded in a serious hum as he latched the bag around his neck.
Kaori climbed Dragonite's back and Jay started to instruct him.
"There's three belts around you, two for your legs and one for your waist, latch the ones around your legs first to ensure they remain as tight from the seat as you can." Jay instructed.
Kaori nodded and carefully latched his legs to the seat as tight as he could.
"Ok, now, for the one in the waist, take it and cover yourself around it twice clockwise before latching it in the center of the seat." Jay.
Kaori nodded and strapped himself to the seat.
"Ok, I'm ready!" Kaori cheered as he grabbed his seat.
"Alright, let's go Dragonite." Jay ordered Dragonite.
The dragon Pokémon flapped his tiny wings until they started whipping up wind and shoots them into the sky.
Kaori has never flown before, his health didn't allowed him to do so. So, imagine how he felt when he experienced the magic of feeling your body light as a feather while the wind brushes gently against your face.
Why isn't he getting his face plastered against the wind? Well, for starters, Dragonite's antenna-horns, besides helping them feel the shift in atmospheric pressure, they also can generate a small air wall that provides protection to his passengers.
Kaori has never felt so alive before, the entire sky was only a tiny part of this new world, he can't stop smiling and even started to snicker.
Jay saw his expression and softened his gaze as he whispered to Dragonite.
"Seems like this is his first flight, why don't you make it special?" Jay whispered.
Dragonite smirks and nods before taking a dive towards the grasslands.
Kaori looked surprised at the sudden shift of direction before bracing himself for the recoil. Dragonite gracefully stopped as he flew relatively close to the ground before flying over a lake.
Kaori saw his own reflection and smiled as he tried to touch the lake, Dragonite shifted his weight to the side, allowing Kaori to feel the water on his hand as he smiled.
Then, they entered a forest, despite the speed, Dragonite passed through it without a single issue, he flew across it without disrupting too much the wildlife before he shot upwards.
"So, kid, how's your first flight?" Jay asked Kaori.
Kaori couldn't contain his excitement and just cheered.
"It's amazing! Pokémon are amazing!" Kaori cheered with a huge smile plastered across his face.
"AROOOO!!" Dragonite roared in agreement.
Kaori has never felt happier in his life.
(Moments later)
After a few more minutes the group arrived at Pallet Town. The rural town was nothing compared to the grandeur of the city, but Kaori had to admit that it has its allure, the peaceful atmosphere and the closeness to nature makes this a great place to relax.
And more importantly, it's the "Beginning" of many stories, no, it's more adequate to call it the beginning of everything. After all, this starting town in this starting region with its 151 Pokémon was the beginning for thousands of people, not counting the remakes.
"Follow me, Professor Oak lives in the lab near the start of Route 1." Jay told Kaori as he started walking down the path.
Dragonite simply hovered around the group before giving Kaori back his bag.
"Thank you, Dragonite." Kaori thanked the gentle giant.
"Rooo." Dragonite nodded before flying off towards the lab, leaving Kaori confused.
Jay caught on of his confusion and decided to shed some light on the matter. "Ah, right, I guess I forgot to tell you, that Dragonite is not actually mine, it's Prof Oak's." Jay clarified as he continued to walk.
Kaori looked shocked for a moment but nodded. It was indeed true that Oak possessed a Dragonite in one of the special episodes, however, he wasn't expecting him to lend him to some lab assistant, or is it Jay that trustworthy? It doesn't matter, he will get his questions answered anyway.
Kaori took a while to see the wild Pokémon interacting with the townsfolk. Even though none of them had a trainer nor were tamed, they were all pretty well behaved, played gently with the children and even gifted some berries to the residents.
"What a lovely place." Kaori said out loud absentmindedly.
"Right?" Jay confirmed.
"Oh, sorry, did I say that out loud? Sorry." Kaori apologized.
Jay brushed his worries off. "No worries, Pallet Town may be small, but it's certainly alluring, maybe that's why people decide to stay here." Jay.
After some more walking, Kaori arrived at the lab. Despite seeing it over a hundred times in different media, Kaori couldn't help but to be impressed by the building, he didn't know if it was his natural cheerfulness or his nostalgia glazing over this but there was one thing certain, he needed a picture of this.
"Come on, the professor's waiting inside." Jay commented as he walked up the stairs.
Kaori snapped out of his daze and run after him.
