Chapter 11 - Tutorial Complete!

Karn's attack had caused way more damage than before causing Thorn to throw up blood.

Noticing this Karn punched out once more towards Thorn's back as he landed on the ground.

This time the attack which left steam as it traveled through the air hit the same target as before. Karn smiled thinking he had found the burly man's weakness. Unexpectedly, as the steam cleared up the spot that he had attacked was unscathed.

Karn was left dumbfounded.

The earlier surprise attack had done way more damage than he expected.

Before Karn could understand the phenomenon he had just experienced a fist had already arrived in front of his face.

BANG

Karn flew back hitting the tree behind him. Blood quickly flew out of Karn's mouth.

"Its been a while since I moved like this." Karn sighed as stood up while cleaning the blood on his face.

Thorn wasted no opportunity. Another one of his attacks arrived just as quick as the fist earlier. Karn moved his body just in the nick of time maximizing his agility as much as possible.

Karn quickly put some distance between the two while muttering a few things under his breath.

"Let's test it out" Karn said while massaging his what felt like broken bones.

Immediately after Karn's body vanished into thin air. Karn arrived right in front of Thorn once again and landed his fist on Thorn's body with as much power as he could muster. This attack alone launched Thorn in the air due to the sheer force behind but not leaving any noticeable damage on the body.

Karn without hesitating used up the last bit of stamina left in his body to land another strong attack on the opponent in the air.

Thorn realizing he had been had put his arms up to block.

The fire fist had landed squarely on his arms that melted fast until the body was thrown back into the ground.

The impact caused by the burly body hitting the ground could have mistaken for a bomb. It had caused such an impact.

Karn staggered and fell as well but moved his body once more to fend off any possible incoming strikes. He had seen his move play out and he was assured. It was a clean hit.

"That was quite the gamble, but more importantly that was very fun." Karn smiled barely keeping his body up straight in front of Thorn the Bandit leader.

"I didn't think you would have realized it that quickly. To stake your life on just a theory about my martial art... admirable. HAHAHA, you are truly the strongest...." Thorn's last words were just this. Truly a fitting end for a battle freak.

In the last moment of the fight Karn had been using his God's eye ability just like before and was trying to analyze the reason the attack from behind had been able to penetrate the bandit leader's defense.

'Was the skill so defective that Thorn had to focus the stone skin to certain parts of the body or was he just inefficient in the technique? Would the other abilities not be more beneficial then like the one Ban and Bin had used against him?' The thoughts raced as quickly as his intelligence stat could allow them to.

God's Eye had seen the moment the attack landed on Thorn's back. His Qi was unable to envelop his back at that moment or his whole body at that.

God's Eye could see Qi and the organs, muscles and the skeletal structure of any individual. It could allow him to perceive the Qi flow in the opponent. All parts of Thorn's body was covered in Qi currently indicating his Stone Skin was in effect. Then why had his attack been able to land and cause significant damage?

Then came the gamble. 'It has to be when he is not connected to the ground.' There could be other factors that be the reason for that incident but this was the most likely one Karn had reasoned. During the fighting Thorn had rarely ever jumped away or used opportunities that would require jumping in air to fight Karn even if they were to be advantageous for the bandit leader.

That single decision to gamble all of his remaining stamina on the theory that the martial art was not effective in air led to the defeat of Thorn the mighty bandit leader of Crane Village.

*Quest Completed*

Reward: 30 Ability Points, Soul Cleaver (Skill)

Karn had truly exhausted himself to the point of collapse for this quest. Even though his body was on the verge of collapse had Karn ever felt this much joy? Yes he had, it was when his kids and Grandkids were born. But besides that? To immerse yourself with someone in the art of combat and coming out victorious was truly a joy one can only experience but not convey with words alone.

After taking a few minutes to breath, Karn rummaged through the pockets of all the bandits he had killed not leaving anything behind in the cave entrance either. He had gathered quite a big sum of cash, martial arts and items from the bunch.

Once everything was complete and Karn was about to head back into the village to make sure Rei was fine suddenly a blue screen appeared in front of him.

Karn read the note and was dumbfounded, were the tutorial quests supposed to be impossible to complete?

In the eyes of Karn what he had done was only natural. Making use of his environment and basic reasoning was all he had done but in the eyes of many normal individuals would they have even been able to save the girl or kill the two sentries posted up in the trees? Not possible. Would most people even have the God's Eye to help as much as it had helped Karn? No.

In the end Karn's ability to complete the tutorial was ultimately just a series of luck strokes and coincidences. Had his disability not turned into the ultimate weapon to subjugate his enemies? It was a masterful stroke of luck combined with extreme competence at every turn that had lead to this final destination.

Thus starts the legend of the Sage Who Needs No Eyes!
