3RD PERSON POV.
Seeing the leaderboard, the audience cheered for the top 16 as everyone knew what the final round was going to be. A 1 vs 1 tournament. Others excluding the top 16 got off the stage as Midnight tapped onto her mic gaining attention as she said
" We will be having a one hour time gap till the one versus one's begin, We will conduct some small events for those who lost the second round.".
A few people got off their seats for a snack break since there is time for the important events whereas the top 16 went for a snack or lunch break to store back some energy. Izuku was hoping to go around some stalls with Momo but seeing her with the female gang, he chose not to. (I have never seen Momo make many friends her age, so I guess I will go alone.).
Visiting the stalls, Izuku ate some Takoyaki and had a couple energy drinks. Looking around to pass time, Izuku spotted Ryukyu standing in line for the Ice cream while giving a kid her autograph, approaching Ryukyu, Izuku waved at her who quickly waved back with a smile as she said
" You beat All Might's record Izuku! I couldn't even keep up with your movements!",
Giving an eye-smile in return, Izuku answered
" I had to show the villains what I am made of, since we both know gangs and villain groups will watch this to target any upcoming talents."Nodding in understanding, Ryukyu asked " So, wanna have some ice cream, my treat?"
"Sure, I will take a scoop of litchi flavored one." Ryukyu nods as Izuku gets in line apologizing to the person behind him for cutting the line. The person just waved it off since Izuku won't be buying anyways.
Strolling around, Ryukyu was telling about her recent villain encounters to an eagerly listening Izuku as he asked
" The hero-killer? you are assigned to go after him as well?" Ryukyu nods, replying "a lot of heroes have died by his hands and so have civilians, this villain needs to be stopped, so I accepted once they offered me the mission. (Hmm, Ryukyu is very strong so, I believe she will stay safe.
Checking the time, Izuku threw the empty ice cream cup in the trash can and said " Well, the break time is almost up to Ryukyu, got to go and see the match-ups".
"Good luck Izuku!" waving at her while going, Izuku lightly jogs towards the arena where they are told to gather after the 1 hour break.
Arriving on time, Izuku sees others waiting for the match-ups as well, tapping onto the mic, Midnight catches everyone's attention as she starts
" The match-ups will be presented on screen, AND THE FIRST MATCH WILL BE...".
The contestant's names roll around and finally stop showing
Ibara Shiozaki vs Akeno Himejima
Ochako Uraraka vs Mina Ashido
Itsuka Kendo vs Shoto Todoroki
Toru Hagekure vs Izuku Midoriya
Mei Hatsume vs Hitoshi Shinso
Denki Kaminari vs Ejirou Kirishima
Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu vs Hanta Sero
Bakugou Katsuki vs Yaoyorozu Momo
[ A/N: I actually spun a wheel for the match-ups lol, don't know why only women were chosen in the first few fights.]
Midnight announces loudly seeing the matchups in place
"AND OUR FIRST MATCH IS BETWEEN IBARA SHIOZAKI AND AKENO HIMEJIMA!!"
*Cheering noises*
" The rest of the contestants can wait for their turn with their classes or in the waiting room."
The other contestants left as Akeno and Ibara were on each side of the arena as Present mic began
" ALL RIGHT FOLKS!, THIS IS A MATCH BETWEEN A HEARTFUL BELIEVER OF GOD FROM CLASS 1-B, SHIOZAKI IBARA AND HER OPPONENT IS NONE OTHER THAN THE CLASS 1-A'S GODDESS OF BEAUTY, AKENO HIMEJIMA", " What's with the goddess title to my student..?"," I don't know Shota, I heard it from a couple of general class boys gossiping about Akeno being the college's goddess or something."
Sweat dropping at the rather embarrassing introduction, Akeno and Ibara gave each other a meaningful stare (( we shall forget this ever happened )), Midnight starts the countdown
"3 2 1 and fight!"
Ibara starts the battle with a quiet apology to god for fighting not for the sake of justice as she sends a wave of vines to grab Akeno who easily flew up into the sky with her wings as Akeno summoned a magic circle producing a bolt of lightning which goes towards Ibara as its target.
Quickly binding her vines in a circle shield around her, the lightning strikes the vines with a few vines burned and broken as Ibara, keeping half of her vines to her defense enlarges the other half to go after Akeno who while maintaining the magic circle flies around avoiding the vines as both are relentlessly attacking as well as defending or dodging their opponent.
Feeling her reserves lowering, Akeno decides to end it with a strong move as she conjures a huge magic circle. Widening her eyes at the size of the circle, Ibara quickly brings up her vines to form a multi-layered shield in front of her. A huge purple Lightning hit the ground where Ibara stood upon as Akeno crouches in exhaustion from the toll it took.
The smoke moved away revealing Ibara with first-degree burns and all vines destroyed or scattered as she slowly fell to the ground.
Checking on her quickly, Midnight brings up the mic to her alluring lips which were the nation's top 1 to kiss-list as she announces
" Ibara has fainted!, the winner of the first match is, AKENO HIMEJIME". Giving a gentle smile, Akeno slowly walks back through the entrance as Mic talks "WHAT A TERRIFIC FIRST MATCH, BOTH THE LADIES HAVE SHOWN THEMSELVES TO NOT BE UNDERESTIMANTED AND HIMEJIMA'S FINAL ATTACK EVEN DESTROYED A PORTION OF THE ARENA! we sure have some powerful girls in our school Shota!"
"Indeed, both gave a commendable performance focusing not only on attacking but also defending themselves at the first time. It was a good first match."
Appearing on stage, Midnight signals Mic who calls out
"IT'S TIME FOR ROUND 2, Our contestants are Class 1-A's bubbly girl, Ochako Uraraka! who will be fighting against her classmate, famous for her unique appearance Mina Ashido!"
Both girls appear on stage with smiles on their faces as if gathering for a hangout, Midnight begins the countdown
" 3...2....1... AND BEGIN!" Uraraka immediately rushes Mina having better chances at close combat but is quickly forced to dodge sideways as Mina shoots acid from her hands,
"I am not making it easy Ocha!". " I will not lose Mina!"
Ochako starts running ahead in a zig-zag manner but is outclassed in speed as Mina, emitting acid from her feet, glides around the arena away from Ochako.
Being forced to dodge from different angles, Ochako had no choice but to shield her weak parts while jumping around, dancing to Mina's attacks who is not showing any signs of slowing down, continued for a few seconds as Ochako had first degree burns on her arms and legs as she had been using them to protect herself, Mina was slowly tiring herself running out acid as she had been shooting and running around the arena the entire time.
A small stumble of Ochako which was seen by the keen eye of Mina who rushes forward, Ochako launches a strong punch at the approaching Mina, who bend her body back using acid to slide under the punch as she jumps and kicks into the back of Ochako's neck, which proved to be a critical hit as Ochako slowly fell to the floor unconscious. Checking upon Uraraka, Midnight points to Mina saying
"Participant Ochako Uraraka has fainted! The match goes to Mina Ashido!",
In the stands, Denki quickly gets worried about his best friend as he runs out while Mina also stays till Uraraka was taken by the bots. Mic announces
"Well, wasn't that a one-sided fight, Mina Ashido dominates with her range attacks and agility leaving Uraraka unable to cope up!", " In a contest of strength, Ashido knew Uraraka has her outclassed, sticking to her tactic was impressive along with her ability to be flexible in close combat is something to be proud about. Not many range fighters can be good at hand to hand combat as well."
Letting out a cheer for the winner, Mina gives up a huge smile for the crowd before leaving to go back and get some energy drinks.
Another signal from Midnight as Mic starts
" SEEING 2 BLOOD-PUMPING FIGHTS, WE HAVE ARRIVED AT THE 3RD ROUND WITH THE CLASS REPRESENTATIVE OF CLASS 1-B, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE BIG SISTER OF 1-B ITSUKA KENDO AND HER OPPONENT IS NONE OTHER A EMO BOY WITH DAD- I MEAN THE NUMBER 2 HERO'S SO, SHOTO TODOROKI!", Glaring at the small slip by Mic, Aizawa kicks him under the table as an angry Todoroki is seen coming out of his corner as Itsuka Kendo was seen determined as Izuku is seen keenly observing the both as he sighs and makes a small comment
"Todoroki will lose..", Only heard by Momo who was a bit shocked by the revelation but decides to watch the fight to see why.
Starting the countdown, Midnight quickly jumps away yelling
"BEGIN!", Muttering apology "Sorry. but I am just angry.."
Shoto sends out a huge ice glacier raging towards Kendo who grits her teeth as she yells " MAXIMUM OUTPUT!" Itsuka's hands enlarge to the size of almost 2, 2-storied buildings as she smashed them against the ice, resulting in the ice to be easily broken and hauled back towards Shoto who in shock conjures another ice to shield himself.
Taking the opportunity, Itsuka rushes to the side quickly circling around as Shoto looks from the side to see Kendo not at the spot he expected her to be. Looking around a bit in panic, Itsuka quickly punches Todoroki in the back with her fists at normal length as she continuously assaults him giving him no space to conjure up ice.
Forced to dodge or defend against the solid and time hits. Shoto is constantly trying to build space but Kendo is not allowing his hands to stay free to allow him to cast ice.
Gritting his teeth in anger, Shoto encases his left side in ice spikes but is met by a smirk as Kendo with her left hand enlarged to the size of a human smashes his throwing Todoroki off the platform knocked out. Checking upon him, Midnight raises her hand to Itsuka exclaiming
"And the winner is Itsuka Kendo!"
[A/NOTE: ok hear me out, I might have buffed Kendo's quirk but the reason Shoto lost, he didn't expect his ice attack to fail and if you observe, his ice attacks can't form like in the close distance of half a meter from his body unless he is encasing himself in ice. And training from a very young age in physical body and martials arts, Kendo outclasses most of the hero students in close combat. And with anger and disbelief clouding his mind, Todoroki wasn't able to think rationally. and to be honest. If he used Fire, he could have easily won at close combat.]
"WHAT A SURPRISING MATCH, PUSHING HER QUIRK TO EXTREME, KENDO WAS ABLE TO COMPLETELY DOMINATE THE GIGA ICE GLACIER LIKE NOTHING AND IN A SHOW OF MARTIAL ARTS, SHOTO TODOROKI WAS QUICKLY TAKEN OUT BY THE BIG SISTER OF CLASS 1-B"
" I have to agree, Kendo's martial abilities are top notch and her hidden card worked perfectly against an irrationally thinking Todoroki."
In the hero section, some heroes moved away from the clearly furious Endeavour who couldn't believe how easily his son lost.
(I had enough of his childish behavior! HE COULD HAVE WON THAT EASILY WITH HIS FIRE. SHOTO, you better be prepared today! I won't tolerate this behavior from now on!).
Class 1-B is seen cheering loudly as Monoma was taunting Class 1-A over the wall but was quickly pulled back by the vice-rep Setsuna, Momo looked at Izuku as she asked
" How did you know?" Izuku answered " While I was surprised by her quirk, I saw anger clouding Todoroki's eyes, and against a top-notch martial artist, It is never good to lose your mind to anger."
Momo nods as she thinks to herself of machines she can use against her opponent. While Izuku flashes away towards the entrance of the arena, giving a quick hi-five in congratulations to a clearly happy but exhausted Kendo.
Another quick signal later, Mic announces,
"AFTER THE MIRACULOUS SHOWCASE OF POWER AND MARTIAL ARTS, OUR FOURTH ROUND PARTICIPANTS ARE., THE INVISIBLE GIRLS FROM 1-A TORU KAGEKURE AND HER OPPONENT IS THE GOD OF SPEED WHO HAS BEEN EASILY BREAKING ALL MIGHT'S RECORDS WITHOUT ANY SWEAT. THE CLASS REPRESENTATIVE OF 1-A, IZUKU MIDORIYA!"
*INSERT LOTS OF CHEERING FOR OUR NINJA*
Izuku arrives in the middle and sees floating gloves and shoes as he asks
"Um, Hagekure?, You are wearing clothes.. right?", Hagekure answered " Of course, I had my hair taken every time it grew long as it was converted into cloth by a quirk user which will turn invisible with me! prepare yourself Midoriya!"
Removing her gloves and shoes, she was completely invisible as Izuku closed his eyes sending a small amount of chakra to his ears and Midnight jumped back yelling
"BEGIN!!",
Hagekure, confident in her invisibility rushes towards Izuku who as soon as he spots her sound of feet, jumps back a bit as Hagekure misses her punch, Izuku keeps jumping back in order to avoid the melee range of Hagekure. Judging her height to be somewhere at 5 '3.
Izuku knew he couldn't predict her punches but he can predict her range, so every time he hears her footsteps close to him, he jumps back avoiding her. This continued for a while leaving the spectators confused while Aizawa explains the situation leaving many in awe of such a tactic.
This led to Hagekure knowing why it wasn't working, she quickly held her breath slowly stepping forwards but suddenly Izuku doing a small series of hand seals brings his fingers close to his mouth as he thinks (wind-style: great breakthrough!), Izuku blows out as the force of wind quickly lifts Hagekure smashing her back against the wall making a small dent as Midnight quickly approaches her to check on her but is met with a small shout of pain as Hagekure says
" I am fine!"
Izuku brings over her gloves and shoes as he says
" Do go to the nurse Hagekure.", "Yea, I think my spine has sprained a bit maybe." calling over the bots, Midnight placed Hagekure on the stretcher after knowing her position.
She lifts Izuku's hands declaring him as the winner as she whispers.
"Your senses are quite strong huh.. I wonder if your sense of pleasure is high too.", confused and a bit flustered, Izuku quickly jogs off the arena while Momo and Akeno are seen glaring death at Midnight with those around them scared by their presence. " She made Izu-kun fluster..." , "Ara, I didn't expect you to be in the competition, Miss. Midnight.. I got some planning to do."
