Chapter 3 - The real truth 1.2

Luis spoke up, his voice laced with disbelief. "Gaith, is that what I think it is?" He couldn't wrap his head around what he saw, hoping it was all just a mistake on Gaith's part.

Wolland and his family shared Luis's confusion, unable to believe what they witnessed. They had already braced themselves to lose, but Gaith's choice had thrown them off guard.

"I don't know what you're talking about, brother. But I chose my mother's family." Gaith responded calmly.

When Gaith's words left his mouth, the expressions of the trio brothers changed from shining confidence to emptiness. In contrast, Wolland's blond hair shone, and his face lit up with a wide smile, quickly followed by the smiles of the people behind him.

The three brothers were stunned and unable to process what had just happened. Kevin fell to the floor in shock, Dion's face twisted in disbelief, and Luis stammered, unable to comprehend the situation.

Luis asked once more, his voice trembling, "Are you sure about this, Gaith? You're not joking around, right?"

Gaith nodded firmly, leaving no room for doubt, "I'm sure. I chose my mother's family." He declared.

The reality of Gaith's decision shattered the trio brothers' self-esteem.

Wolland saw that as an opportunity for revenge for the humiliation he had faced earlier. He couldn't resist taunting the trio brothers with silent laughter, mocking Luis by copying his gesture from a moment before.

Feel my wrath while eating your ass! Bruaahaahahaa!

Although no words were spoken, the trio brothers' ears rang with the echoes of Wolland's taunt.

The trio brothers were consumed with anger, frustration, and despair but knew they had no recourse. Fighting back with violence was not an option either, especially when the son of their sworn brothers had made the decision. The humiliation was beyond anything they had ever experienced, and it showed on their faces as their cheeks turned red with a mix of anger and shame.

After savoring his victory, Wolland took a deep breath and turned to his beautiful, slender wife, instructing her to take Gaith with them.

"Come to Auntie Helen," she beckoned to Gaith with a warm smile, her arms open wide in welcome.

Although Gaith initially chose Wolland's family, he seemed hesitant to leave, "Wait a minute—" he began, his uncertainty evident.

As Gaith began to express his hesitation, Dion's emotions got the best of him, and he shouted, "Nooooooo!" as he ran forward and forcefully pushed Helen's body away from Gaith. Unfortunately, his anger had taken over, and he lost control of his strength, causing him to push Helen harder than intended.

Braaak!

As the loud crash echoed through the buildings, every person inside turned towards the source of the noise. They watched in horror as the scene unfolded before them. Many people were stunned with fear, and some panicked when they saw Helen's body.

Blood was visible as Helen's slender body was covered in scars and wounds, causing the onlookers to feel frightened. They started to stand up and run, creating a chaotic atmosphere.

Amidst the chaos and confusion, Luis's urgent voice cut through the noise, calling out to

Kevin, "Kevin!" he shouted, his words echoing clearly and loudly.

But even before Luis had called his name, Kevin had already rushed over to the patient—Helen, "Calm the chaos! I'll handle the rest," he replied loudly.

Luis nodded, and with a slap on the back, he snapped Dion out of his rage. Dion quickly regained his composure and let out a deafening roar, causing the buildings to vibrate and shattered glass to fall to the ground.

"UAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!"

Despite the ear-splitting sound, Kevin worked diligently and efficiently, performing first aid on Helen with a steady hand. He worked quickly and purposefully using various peculiar tools, never taking his eyes off the patient's body. It was the figure of a person who earned the nickname "The Madness Professor" or "Miracle Hands."

As Dion's roar faded, Kevin's hands came to a stop, and he shouted proudly, "Done!"

Then the chaos began to settle, and people who had fallen slowly stood up, taking deep breaths to relieve their stress and anxiety. Wolland, however, was the first to stand up, running towards his wife's body with heavy breaths.

Upon Wolland's arrival, he immediately knelt down in gratitude. Kevin was taken aback by the gesture, unsure of how to respond. Despite the awkward moment, Kevin remained focused on the task, explaining what must be done to save Helen's life.

A strange flying device suddenly appeared as they spoke, catching their attention. Kevin recognized it immediately and quickly pressed the button on the device, transforming it into a healing tube. With a sense of urgency, he carefully placed Helen's body inside, and the tube began to stabilize her condition.

Kevin realized Helen still required advanced medical attention, so he instructed Wolland to transport her to the hospital for surgery. Once again, Wolland knelt down with tears in his eyes and expressed his gratitude, "Thank you," he said, his voice choked with emotion, before carefully transporting Helen to the hospital with the help of his family.

However, in the urgency of the situation, Wolland had forgotten his main goal: to bring Gaith Isaad with him.

Luis saw Wolland's attitude and thought, "Even evil people would be sad if their loved ones were hurt! What an irony."

After Emily's family left, the funeral was finished—forced to end; Dion threw the mourners out of the room, fearing that another problem might occur. His actions caused the once-gloomy building to become quiet, with the only sound being that of the four individuals who stayed behind: Gaith, Luis, Kevin, and Dion.

The four individuals sat beside the coffin, the atmosphere still heavy and awkward after the chaos ensued. Dion, in particular, couldn't lift his gaze and looked down in shame as Kevin and Luis stared at him angrily.

After a few moments of uncomfortable silence, Dion finally spoke up. "Please forgive me," he said, his voice barely above a whisper, "I didn't mean to do that."

Gaith was the first to reply, his voice soft and reassuring, "It's okaaay, big brother," he said, placing a hand on Dion's shoulder, "I know you didn't mean to do it. It's not your fault."

Dion looked up at Gaith, feeling a sense of gratitude and respect toward the young boy, "I'm not that weak, you know," he responded, his voice filled with emotion, "But thank you, boy, for helping me," then lifted Gaith and placed him back in the seat beside him, "Just stay here," he said.

Although Gaith's reaction showed no sign of anger, the other two individuals, Kevin and Luis, continued looking at Dion angrily and frustratedly. Their gazes were like machine guns, ready to shoot him with harsh words and criticism.

"Gaith, cover your ears!" Kevin said gently.

Gaith gave a thumb before covering his ears. Something like that wasn't a strange event anymore; he knew the trio was children trapped in adult bodies.

With the hindrance out of the way, Kevin and Luis took a deep breath before Kevin erupted in frustration.

"What the heck, Dion! You almost killed her!" Kevin excited. He pulled Dion's face.

"Where was your brain? Did you even think?" he continued, his tone accusatory. He scrambled Dion's hair.

"You got mad when I called you 'muscle brain', but you never learn from your mistakes," he added, his frustration evident in his voice. He bit Dion's ears.

"And again, why do you always make the same mistake again and again?" he asked, his voice rising in anger—Kick Dion's feet.

"Do you even have a brain to think? Are you? Are you?" he continued, his frustration boiling over. He bit his own hands.

As Kevin continued his outburst, Luis added to the tension by repeatedly sighing, his breath escaping like a snake's hiss, "Shiaaah," manifesting his frustration and disappointment.

It continued until those two frustrated people were exhausted and out of breath.

"Are ya all done?" Dion asked with an innocent tone.

Kevin and Luis exchanged a look; they had exactly the same thought, "He doesn't seem to care, does he?"

Kevin let out a sigh of frustration, "Yeah, I'm done!" he said, his voice tinged with anger.

"Good—" but before Dion could finish, Kevin interrupted him.

"Good, your head? Of course, we're not done," Kevin snapped back, his tone accusatory.

But before the argument could escalate any further, Dion spoke up, reminding them that there was a boy who needed to be considered.

"Can we stop that thing? Because we need to ask the boy first!" Dion retorted.

Dion's words served as a reminder that someone else in the room needed to be considered - the boy, Gaith.

The trio turned their gaze to him, causing Gaith to look confused as he uncovered his ears,

"What?" he responded, unsure of what was going on.

Luis took a long breath to regain his composure, "Lil bro, why did you choose those people?" he added, his tone serious, just like his gaze.

"And for your information, those people—" Kevin wanted to add, but Gaith cut him.

"I know those people were responsible for my parent's death, right?" Gaith responded with a sad tone. His fake smile was gone.

Dion opened his mouth to ask another question but quickly stopped when he saw the look on Gaith's face. The boy's okay smile had returned, but it was clear that he was still hurting inside.

The realization hit the trio hard. They knew they couldn't push him further, so they let out their frustration by scratching their heads and sighing heavily, "Huaaaah!" they exhaled in unison, a testament to the emotional toll the day had taken on them all.

"It's okay, brothers!" Gaith responded to their sigh.

The trio responded with a rush to hug Gaith altogether, they uttered no words, but Gaith could feel warmth—love filled his heart, curing his loneliness.

Luis noticed a change in Gaith's demeanor, "It's okay to cry, you know," he said gently, hoping to ease the boy's burden.

Gaith looked up, surprised by the suggestion, "Huuh?" he responded, unsure what to do.

Dion chimed in, determined to help Gaith let go of his pain, "Just let it out. I'm the strongest man in the world, and I allow you to cry just for this time," he said with a reassuring smile.

Those words seemed to soften Gaith's heart, and he felt the tears welling up in his eyes. However, it wasn't enough to make the tears drop; he only needed one push more to burst his sadness.

Luckily, Kevin added some words to reassure him, "You could cry now because I put some device that is like a barrier, so no one would hear you cry or see your tears."

"Even you all?" he asked, unsure if he could trust them.

The trio nodded as Kevin answered, "Yes, even we couldn't."

"You're not lying, right brother Kevin?" Gaith asked, his voice choked with emotion.

Kevin shook his head, a small smile on his face, "Nope, I'm not lying," he said, his tone gentle and reassuring.

At that moment, Gaith's long-held sorrow finally erupted. He wept, releasing all the pent-up frustration and unspoken words that had been weighing on him. The trio hugged him tenderly until Gaith succumbed to exhaustion and drifted asleep.
