If she could account for every little thing to gain more control over her life, then perhaps things like fate and luck would have less power over her life.
What she had learned about Darren had been positive so far, as he had made a different choice than what he should have made in the future.
That was a positive result to help prove that she was on the right track, even if it was something very small that she had influenced.
Even if he did end up taking the very same path in the future, it would not be all for nothing.
