Irena was your typical 29-year-old Black-American single mother. She stood at the height of 5'6 and had the American average body type. She wasn't fat nor was she skinny, but you could tell that she had a slight athletic build if she shed a few pounds. She wasn't dark skin nor light skin. She had a Chocolate Caramel skin tone that tends to lighten or darken depending on the season. Her medium sized eyes with chocolate brown orbs gave her an oriental look. Her slightly darkened plump lips showed signs that she was a smoker. She had a little extra weight on her due to her having a child four years ago but, the extra weight went to the right places. Her hips were slightly wider than they used to be and yet they complimented her. Her 40-42DD breast showed signs that they expanded due to the breast milk she once produced. Sure, her stomach had a little extra fat and stretch marks but, it didn't make her look overweight or sloppy. With her dark reddish brown long curly hair that was given to her by her Irish heritage reached to her mid-back; she could easily be mistaken for an Afro-Latina. She was blessed with her high cheek bones from her Native-American heritage that showed significantly when her hair was straightened. Thanks to her African American roots, she still looked as though she was in her early 20's.
Irena never had much luck in the dating pool. On three fingers she could easily count the number of relationships she's ever been in. On the same three fingers is the number of men that she slept with. Her longest relationship was with the father of her four-year-old son. They were heavily involved with each other for 4 ½ years. That all changed when she found out she was pregnant. At 25 -years old, she had no plans on having children. She wanted to be free and live life with no responsibilities. Once she saw the double line on the pregnancy test, she knew that everything was about to change. After her initial shock wore off, the excitement set in. When she -told her child's father, he wasn't happy. Then instead of doing the right thing and manning up, he did a complete 360 and abandoned her. After her son was born, Irena accepted the harsh cruel fact that she was going to raise her child by herself. She put the father of her son on child support and never looked back. From then on, she made sure to provide for her son and create the best stable environment for him with the help of her mother.
Irena gave herself four years to finish college, she did it in three. She graduated college with honors at the top of her class. She received her bachelor's degree in business and Socio Economics. While in school, she hustled like no other. She became a restaurant owner and made small investments here and there. Throughout her years of working and schooling, she came into a few interesting people from different backgrounds. The college she attended had a very diverse campus. She mostly befriended males, because for her, men tended to be less of a hassle. She didn't have to deal with the jealousy and pettiness that came from female friends. Although it was quite hilarious when she dealt with the occasionally jealous girlfriends her friends brought around. Nevertheless, it didn't stop some of her male friends from trying to date her. She always turned them down except for one, Sean Kim.
Sean was older than Irena by 110 years. Unlike Irena, Sean was a half demon. Sean and Irena met through the same social circle at college Sean was every traditional Asian parent's nightmare. He was Korean American. He smoked, got high, did drugs, slept around, was covered in tattoos from head to toe and even went to jail a few times when he was younger. Not that he gave a rat's ass about anyone else's opinion but, he eventually wanted more in life. Sure, he came from a millennium of wealth from his paternal family, but being 130 years old with nothing to personally show for it, didn't sit well with him. He put down the drugs, got himself clean and went back to school. He started working out more in the gym, eating healthier and growing out his hair. He could've easily been mistaken for a K-pop star had it not been for his abundance of tattoos. He stood a height of 6'2 and had black straight hair. His brown eyes were the perfect almond shape that danced with mischievous. He was very muscular and lean. His voice was deep enough to would make any woman melt. He didn't look a day over 20. Now, at the age of 130, he was a multi-millionaire.
Irena and Sean dated for a couple of months back in college. Their break-up was mutual, and they both decided that they wanted different things in life. They still agreed to be friends, and they continued to meet with each other twice a month to hang out. It's been three years since they've dated. The last time the hung out was over six months ago. When Sean introduced his new fiancé to Irena. Irena knew that he was involved with someone, she just never figured that he was going to settle down so soon. Sean had the reputation of being a man-whore. He went through girls as fast as he went through his drawers.
His fiancé Cassie was a sweet girl. Her family was of a lower ranking demons compared to even his status of a half breed.
She was a bit naïve but for the most part, Irena could tell that Sean was serious about her. If you were to ask Sean himself, Cassie reminded him a lot of Irena. They shared similar personality traits; however, Irena had the tendency to sometimes be cutthroat and didn't mince words especially when pissed off. But he believed that Irena was more beautiful than Cassie. That's what Sean appreciated about Irena. Her honesty, impulsive short-temper, and bluntness. He laughed at the time he had to stop Irena from beating up a girl who he had slept with because she was rude and snubbed Irena. Cassie was more docile. She was very patient and forgiving whereas Irena could hold grudges and wanted to burn everything to the ground and stomp on it.
In the back of his mind, he always thought he and Irena would eventually get back together. But as fate would have it, Cassie was pregnant. So, he did which was right and decided to marry her.
He was now dancing with his new pregnant wife at his wedding where all his close friends and distant family were attending. It was a lavish wedding that he had flown his friends and family to the Maldives to help celebrate on this joyous occasion.
