Li Tongya bid farewell to An Zhiyan, burned the incense to bathe, changed into a formal attire, a gray robe with white cloud-like patterns on the sleeves, strapped on his sword, and walked on foot to the top of Lijing Mountain. He pushed open the doors of the ancestral hall, where the tablet inscriptions stood in silence, particularly solemn amidst the billowing smoke.
These were the six generations of ancestors recorded in the village annals, including Li Genshui and Li Mutian, which made Li Tongya actually a descendant of nine generations. However, if counted from the time he first encountered the Immortal Path, Li Tongya was a disciple of the second generation.
Li Tongya looked towards the many rows of tablets in the misty haze, and before the foremost row, he kowtowed three times and conducted a grand ceremony, reverently addressing:
