Chapter 80 - Chapter 76

[Turn 2]

Alright, so, I read the other book and its really freaking me out. I know for a fact I didn't write that, and a war hasn't even occurred yet, but apparently according to the others The Dark Lord is a very real threat and is going to march on this place sooner or later.

I can't get over the mention of the hole in the sky and that bell ringing, it especially weirds me out as I swear I've heard that bell multiple times before but I thought I was just going crazy.

I'll have to look more into this "hole" and see if I can find anything out about it, with any luck it'll give me more answers onto why this first book even exists.

If I survive I'll come back and write a follow up on my findings.

-Ryder

[Turn 3]

I don't even know what to write now. Those first two books have me exact handwriting and I know for a fact that I haven't been here before. Yet there are things in there that only I'd know of, namely that damned bell ringing.

It doesn't make sense though, how could I ignore it?! That damned bell won't shut up when I'm near something important, it rings and rings and rings until I finally find why it rings.

That's actually how I found both this place and the Hole in the Sky, though I'd say calling it a "hole" is the wrong term, its more accurate to call it a gateway to somewhere else.

I didn't go all the way, that was impossible given how high up it was, however using a massive fire and a glider I was able to gain just enough height to peer inside.

In the hole was- I don't even know how to describe it, it was like a nightmare.

Just a pool of dark blood that went as far as I could see, bodies strewn all over the floor, and some kind of egg was all the way in the back.

At least, I think it was an egg? I couldn't tell, it was too far away to tell but I think it was more fleshy than a normal egg.

That bell was louder and clearer when I looked at it though, I might have to find my way in there if I want to learn more.

I get the feeling this will be a one way trip though, a very very frightening one at that.

Hopefully I'll be able to make it back and describe what I saw, otherwise, well let's just hope that a new entry will be written.

-Ryder

[Turn 4]

I've made it here again, but I can't remember any of these "turns" like I'd hoped. Instead all I know for sure is this place exists outside of standard time and space compared to the rest of this game.

I've also come to find out that clearly I'm not the only one who has experienced a looping of time, that kid named Shade has changed too.

I don't remember how he used to be but I can "feel" the difference, It's hard to explain, almost like a sixth sense for knowing that things in the Timeline have changed.

Whatever lies beyond the hole in the sky isn't good, that much I know for certain, whenever I think of it I get extremely nauseous and almost black out, so for now I think I just need to focus my search on something else.

The Dark Lord, I'll focus on him, I may not remember anything from these past loops but I "feel" like he's been different with each go around.

He might be one of the main opposing forces but at this point I don't think I have many other options, its that or just try to find the end of the game on my own.

One problem with that though, there's no clues where that would even be.

Either way it doesn't matter anymore, It's time to find a way out of this place or at least solve one of the main mysteries.

I'll update this book if I make it back

-Ryder

[Turn 5]

Well, clearly reading the other entries I never did make it back, on the plus side though it seems like with each "turn" I've been enhancing this sixth sense.

My muscle memory is far beyond what it should be, it only took a little training to really get it back to what it was before.

I can even remember that volume 1 wasn't even my first life, no, I know there were at least a dozen or so loops before that but its all blurry right now.

The Hole in the Sky and The Dark Lord are two opposing forces, and whoever the Game Master is lost control of all of this a long time ago, its why he never showed himself after it. I have a feeling I know who he is though and it'd explain why he's been sticking around the group for so long.

Shade, well, I don't know how many times he's been through this but he's clearly breaking down somewhat as he's begun resorting to Player Killing and other devious methods to try and break this cycle.

Yuria doesn't seem to know what caused all this, not certainly, though knowing her she's just keeping her hand close to her chest so she can't be used.

I did find out one bit of useful info from her though, none of this is real.

Not in the sense that people would actually die, no, instead this is a turning point in history apparently.

I'll have to dig some more to find out the answers, however I'm not going to be able to update this book as The Dark Lord's attack on Resovult begins soon.

His reasoning for marching on this city is simple, he's trying to claim the power of the slumbering Sun God to strengthen his own powers.

You'd assume Darkness and Light don't mix but as it turns out its not what we'd think. Light makes a stronger Darkness, and Darkness makes the light all the more blinding.

Perhaps it'd be better to just hand the god over to him? It certainly might save a few of us.

I'll report back if things work out or if negotiations fell apart.

-Ryder

[Turn 6]

It worked, it actually worked!

I remember my last life clearly and handing over the slumbering sun god actually saved many of us, only those who still tried to fight him got killed, the rest of us were free to go or join his army.

In the end we still ended up fighting against The Hole in the Sky, everyone was wiped out and The Dark Lord went missing. I know more now about what it is, The Hole in the Sky I mean, and that strange egg inside of it.

Where to even begin with it?

Whatever that thing is it's nothing that belongs to this world, and I mean both the real world and this dream place.

Speaking of which I still have no clue what this place fully is.

A game?

A dream?

Some kind of weird glimpse into another world?

I've heard everything at this point and none of it makes sense.

I think, keyword being THINK here, that this might be some mixture of the fantasy world that the dev studio created and something else, someone's dream of another world maybe? It sounds farfetched but that's all I can think of honestly.

If I discover anything else I'll update in the next turn, I don't have any fear of forgetting things again after all!

-Ryder

[Turn 7]

The Ringing has grown stronger this turn, I don't know what but it has and the things I retain from previous turns has increased as well.

Namely my muscle memory and battle tactics have been retained, slowly but surely I'm becoming sharper and I'm able to even keep up with people like Shade, Feros and Oto who are freaks when it comes to the combat of this world.

Also I've dug a little more, even temporarily allied with the Dark Lord to find this out, but the truth of this world is stranger than I could've even imagined.

It's someone's dying dream, someone trapped in what The Dark Lord called the "Awakening" and is actively trying to keep everyone within this "game" alive as well, apparently the real world might be a mess too... so for the next turn I'm not going to enter the game and just observe the outside world, when I enter the game next I'll report on my findings.

-Ryder

[Turn 8]

for continuity I'm labeling this one as 8 still since the time I spent in the real world couldn't be recorded and put in here.

The real world.. well, I don't even know how to describe what happened, one moment everything was fine and then all hell broke lose.

the sky went dark, the stars began to fall, people were running for their lives, and the last thing i saw was some grand beam of blue light before I died.

That seems to be why no one bothers trying to get us out of the game, because there's probably a full scale war or something going on in the real world, if you can even call it that anymore.

I know what I'm going to do next though, I need to find anyone who knows anything about "awakening" and find out what the fuck is happening and how to fix it!

My only worry is where to start now, I've got no leads aside from Raime... maybe if I could find the Game Master I'd know more.

Yeah.

I'm going to try and hunt him down, I'm going to spend my entire turn tracking him down, then I'll get my answers.

[Turn 9]

Laurence.

Fucking Laurence.

That bastard was the Game Master the whole time! He refused to tell me anything about what was going on initially until I provided him with evidence of everything I'd seen.

As it turns out he knew nothing about the looping or how this game became so real but I do know one thing now.

He's responsible for my Brother's death, this bastard is the reason why Ryan went comatose! all because of some fucking idea to create a virtual world where his sick daughter could live once her physical body broke down.

Get this, they used some kind of "seed" for the world, one given to Laurence by a strange man who said "he'd need it for the coming calamity."

Everywhere I look more and more questions arise and at this point I don't think I'll ever get the answers I'm looking for, so instead I'm going to the damn source head on.

That hole in the sky, I've been running from it all along but I know what I need to do now.

I'm going in there and I'm confronting whatever the fuck is in there!

[Turn 10]

An egg.

It's an egg.

Something horrible lurks within.

Something that shouldn't be born.

It burrowed into my mind, showed me everything, showed me the truth.

I don't know how many more turns I'll go through after this point but I have no need for this place anymore, I know what I need to do.

I just need to get Lily and the others to the end, and I need to open their eyes.

To that end once the end of a turn approaches I'll dive into that hole once more, beat back the horrors, and place the egg deeper into its slumber.

It's all I can do for now.

It's the only thing that'll keep giving us a chance.

I don't know how long I'll be able to do that for before I break.

I just hope the Awakening happens sooner rather than later.
