"It's time for you to see them, Naruto." The words rang out as Naruto was left stunned by what he had heard.
He felt the same chakra that had wanted to appear before being suppressed by Minato, but he also felt another one. Another chakra very similar to that of his mother from this world.
Kushina understood as well and, canceling her Kurama Mode transformation, showed Naruto a small happy smile.
Naruto also canceled his transformation, but he couldn't stop staring at a corner of the forest with bewildered eyes. He was searching for the chakras.
"Could it be him... It can't be...?" he said, stammering.
"Yes, it's them, Naruto. They're your parents. Kushina and I have felt them ever since we entered this mental space. It's just that they seemed to be used only for defense against Kurama. That's what happened back then when you were about to pull the seal. I stopped your real father's chakra from manifesting because I didn't think it would be beneficial for you to talk to him at that moment, before you had controlled Kurama." Minato paused briefly before continuing.
"Now it's your chance to meet them again, Naruto. Let me tell you that they are not your real parents, and even so, they are their consciousnesses from their final moments. All the memories and feelings they had for you are still there. They are a reflection of the people who gave you life."
Naruto listened to that in silence, despite his surprise. 'So in the end, they aren't really them...' he couldn't help but murmur sadly.
"Unfortunately not, Naruto, but it's still a chance for you to know what they were like, what they thought of you. You won't regret it." Naruto's parents were dead; that was a presence projected through chakra and it would disappear forever once their energy ran out.
"So go meet them. Go get to know them. We may be your parents in this world, but they are the real ones. Talk to them and get to know them. Go speak with them." Minato kept repeating his encouragements. And with those words, Naruto began taking slow steps, walking toward a corner of the forest.
Minato and Kushina looked at each other and smiled. Even Kurama, who was lying beside the lagoon, couldn't help but raise her head at this new development.
"Well, let's leave. It seems everything is fine now. Let him have his private meeting."
Naruto began to disappear among the trees of the forest, moving through the shadows and darkness until he saw a light in the distance. Naruto's real parents would be there.
And when Minato and Kushina of this world were about to leave, suddenly, a light began to appear in front of them. The lights materialized, and there stood another Minato and another Kushina.
Only they seemed a little older.
Kushina was taller than the younger one from this world, while Minato, because he possessed a body from the One Piece world, was taller than the Minato from the Naruto world.
"We saw what happened," Kushina said, observing the two with a smile.
While Naruto was about to meet his real parents, they themselves came to the two of them to exchange a few final words before meeting their true son.
Minato and Kushina from the Naruto world smiled at them.
"We knew about your existence here, but since you're here, it's a pleasure to meet you." Minato said...
"It's a pleasure as well. We need to thank you two." Kushina said.
It was obvious that they wanted to thank them for what they had done for Naruto. "You don't have to... Whether we wanted to or not, Naruto would basically be our son as well," Minato said, while the other Minato displayed a wider smile.
"It's intriguing how different our worlds are. I mean... you're younger than me, yet I can't even begin to compare to your strength. I'd really love to hear your story." The older Minato scratched the back of his head, looking at the other Minato, who was stronger and taller than him. The strength he had witnessed was immense, a level of power that the older Minato could only dream of attaining.
"Well... it's a shame that you died. Naruto truly suffered a lot in his life," the younger Kushina said, looking at the older Kushina, who showed a sad, restrained smile.
"I know. Now we know what our son went through. We wouldn't wish that on anyone. I hope you never have to make your son go through that." She said, seeming on the verge of tears.
"We won't, dattebane!" the younger Kushina said.
The older one smiled again. "It seems you two met in a different way than we did. I'd also really like to hear your story, dattebane." She looked at the younger Minato and Kushina with a certain expectation.
"We had our first kiss on the First Hokage's statue. We were only ten years old. Minato saved me from a kidnapping and helped me become stronger!" the younger Kushina said, hugging Minato beside her and kissing his cheek.
"Wow... And I know you've also become much stronger than I ever was. To think you became a perfect jinchūriki..." murmured the older Kushina.
"Hey! Can't you do that somewhere else? That's kind of disgusting to listen to." A voice roared from the distance. It was Kurama herself, lying down and able to hear the entire conversation from the other side of the forest.
Meanwhile, Naruto had already disappeared to meet his parents.
"You should head over there soon." the younger Minato said. In the end, there was no reason for them to waste any more time there.
He himself could already feel their chakra beginning to fade.
The other Minato noticed it as well. "That's true. Well, in any case, our real selves will never remember any of this."
That wasn't a lie. After all, Kushina was in the Impure World of the Naruto world, and Minato remained inside the Shinigami's stomach.
They were merely chakra constructs containing their consciousnesses. Their original bodies would never know what had happened there.
But even so, the older Minato smiled as he looked at the two of them. The older Kushina shared the same feeling.
"Anyway, we thank you for everything you've done for our son."
"That's true. He even became more handsome with my hair. Although I don't disagree with how he looked before, resembling Minato." She laughed before continuing.
"My husband's words also apply to me. We thank you for everything you've done for him. We have no way to repay everything that happened, and perhaps we never will, but we want you to know how grateful we are." Kushina said, and the younger Minato and Kushina nodded.
"It was good to meet you. It's a shame we didn't have more time, but please give Naruto everything he deserves." Those were the younger Kushina's final words.
All four nodded.
Everyone watched as the older pair began to disappear amid an intense glow. An upward pull enveloped them, and they vanished before the eyes of the two younger ones.
Kushina grabbed Minato's arm and looked at him affectionately. "I hope they'll be alright." That was all she said before the two of them also disappeared.
In the real world, Minato and Kushina still had their hands on Naruto's body, which remained seated in the lotus position.
They then regained consciousness and finally pulled their hands away. Tsunade and Yamato watched expectantly.
Yamato already seemed prepared to use Mokuton at any moment, while Tsunade had her arms crossed. She wasn't as anxious as Yamato, but she would act much faster than him if necessary.
"So, what happened?" Yamato asked anxiously. He had seen Naruto enter Sage Mode, but after that, he had been unable to perceive anything else.
Now the two had left Naruto's consciousness, but he still appeared with his eyes closed.
No waves of the Kyuubi's chakra had emerged this time, so they didn't seem nearly as nervous.
Kushina simply smiled. "Don't worry about Naruto. He succeeded, but now he's meeting two special people." Kushina said this while Minato began explaining the situation.
Inside Naruto's mind, he finally crossed the bright light after passing through the darkness of the forest.
Two people appeared right in front of him the moment they left their other selves from this world to finally meet Naruto.
Both smiled, and Naruto's eyes widened as tears began to fall.
"Father... Mother..."
The resemblance was uncanny. They were very similar to the father and mother of this world, only older. Perhaps about five years older.
Naruto remembered Minato's words. Even though they weren't the real ones, but only consciousnesses, they were still them in a way. They carried the same memories, the same feelings, and the same love they had held for him while alive.
They should also know everything that had happened to him.
Kushina was the first to move forward, running toward Naruto. He ran as well; he would never waste the chance to meet his real parents.
There, they spent their final moments talking. Naruto didn't hold back from expressing all his frustrations, pain, and doubts about his life. He also spoke of his small resentment over Kurama being sealed inside his body and having to live as a jinchūriki.
His parents listened to everything. They talked about the mysterious masked man who had attacked the village. They explained what had really happened that night.
They told him why they had sealed Kurama inside their own son, practically condemning his life, in order to protect Konoha and fight the masked ninja. They answered every doubt Naruto had carried with him.
They also talked about how they had met. Although it was a little different from the story that the younger Kushina from this other world had told Naruto, there were still many similarities.
His real mother had also been kidnapped at some point. And Naruto's real father had saved her as well, just as the Minato of this world had saved the other Kushina from a similar situation.
The difference was that the younger couple's relationship seemed to have begun much earlier. Since their very first day at the Academy, when the young Kushina told everyone that Minato had defended her.
Meanwhile, his real parents had a somewhat more complicated relationship. Even so, Minato had also defended her when she needed it, but his mother had been far too stubborn.
Naruto stayed there for a while, but in the end, he clung to the two of them, crying as they wished him success when he returned to his world.
They told him that he was already more than ready. That they were proud of the man he had become. They also asked him to thank the young Minato and Kushina once again.
In addition, they talked about the Three Ninja Taboos, especially Kushina, who seriously warned Minato not to fall into any of those vices.
Naruto already knew part of that, since he had heard the younger Kushina herself talk about them while educating him over the past two months.
But he still couldn't help listening to his real mother. Somehow, he liked it when she scolded him like that; the feeling of belonging was even more overwhelming.
After all, those were his real parents. In the end, Naruto began crying heavily when he left the lotus position and exited his mental space. Tears streamed down his face the entire time.
He couldn't control himself, even before seeing his parents disappear.
He stood up. "They're gone..." That was all he could say as he looked at everyone sadly.
"And even so, thank you for everything."
With that, the conquest of Kurama had been completed.
In the following weeks, Minato began his plan to implant Hashirama's cells into Naruto and Obito.
To tell the truth, Minato no longer paid as much attention to Naruto and focused more on Obito. He also helped him develop the third tomoe after a brutal training regimen that he personally put him through.
Obito was surprised. He was excited, but when he started getting beaten to the point where they had to call Kushina or even Naruto to heal him, he began to wonder whether his sensei simply wanted to beat him up for fun or if it was actually training.
In the end, he managed to awaken the third tomoe. After that, Minato tried to force the Mangekyō Sharingan in the same way he had done with Hanabi and her Tenseigan.
To awaken Mikoto's Mangekyō Sharingan back during the war, he had used the passion and love Mikoto felt for him, simulating his death right in front of her.
That simply made her lose her mind. It was easy to understand, considering the Uchiha were the clan known for loving more deeply than any other. So he used that against her to trigger an intense emotional response.
It could be said that Mikoto became extremely angry when she found out what had really happened. That it had all been Minato's doing. She cried a lot and refused to speak to him for several weeks. Minato had to apologize countless times.
With Obito, things were a little different. Minato still possessed some of Toneri Ōtsutsuki's chakra stored away, and the Sharingan originated from that very type of clan.
So he tried to force the awakening without making him experience a terror similar to what he had suffered in the original story.
As he himself would say: 'I don't want any of my students to go through the nightmare of the original story.' Even so, the awakening process was far from pleasant for Obito.
In the end, Minato simply waited for the results. After placing Obito on a laboratory bed and applying chakra and cells to his body, although far less than he had used on Hanabi.
Meanwhile, Obito's eyes began to change due to the overwhelming power of the Ōtsutsuki clan. As his genetics reacted, he nearly succeeded on his own.
But it was only when Minato also implanted Hashirama's cells into his body that the change finally occurred, while his body was enduring so many genetic forces clashing against one another.
His eyes began to evolve. And for the first time, Obito awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan. Although Minato knew that Kamui might very well not appear, since it represented the pain Obito had felt in the original story, Minato had spoken a few words about wanting a world where he could protect his friends and protect Rin.
He tried using the same words Madara had used on Obito, and in a way, without knowing whether it was destiny or whether his words had truly worked, Obito's Mangekyō Sharingan was the same as in the original story.
"Excellent," Minato said in the end, satisfied.
Now that his student had succeeded, he began applying the cells directly to Naruto.
