Chapter 401 - Chapter 401 - Mission in Rōran 03. (Beating Down Kurama from Naruto!)

[Chapter Size: 2600 Words.]

Rōran, 43.

...

...

"What?!", Naruto simply exclaimed as he witnessed the scene he would never forget in his life, inside his consciousness.

The massive explosion echoed as the fox crashed straight onto the ground on her back, after being launched away, flying far from the cage. Kurama herself had a somewhat startled expression.

That hurt. 'He hurt me...' Kurama exclaimed in her mind.

As if it weren't enough to have been hit by a punch without even being able to react, the surprise of feeling pain was even greater.

She was a chakra beast. How could she be hurt like that!?

She tried to get up when a yellow light shone over her chest, forming a sort of space where Minato fully materialized.

Minato looked at Kurama's head still on the ground of her own body with his hands in his pockets so casually.

"You... how did you do that?!", she growled angrily.

"I have my tricks," Minato said calmly, as his hair swayed slightly.

"I'm going to destroy you immediately!", Kurama shouted, raising her neck to attack.

Minato didn't care. He simply moved to intercept her and deliver another punch with haki, making her fall back immediately with another boom from the force she was thrown back with.

In the next instant, he disappeared and appeared in front of her, delivering a second blow, pressing her against the ground with force. Kurama roared in pain once again.

"You should stay right there, Kurama. You can't defeat me," Minato mocked.

That made Kurama even more furious. She got up roaring loudly, while Minato took a step back, allowing her to regain a bit of dignity by standing.

Naruto was still on the other side of the cage, approaching the bars and looking at the scene still in disbelief. The beast that Kakashi-Sensei, Ero-Sannin, and Captain Yamato feared so much, being treated like that...

Suddenly, Kurama launched her tails forward, trying to crush Minato, who was still floating in the air and began to play around dodging the tails, turning into light leaving a trail of light as he zigzagged to evade each attack.

"Has anyone ever told you that you're slow, Kurama?" The question was simple, but for Kurama that was the peak of humiliation.

"How are you doing this?! I don't remember you having these abilities!", she roared, as Minato reappeared a few meters in front of her head, materializing from the light.

"You really don't understand, do you?", he mocked. "I'm not the Minato Namikaze you know."

In the next moment, he clenched his fist, wrapped in armament haki, and advanced, appearing beside her once again, punching her face with force. It was crushed immediately, and Kurama roared in pain, being launched once again across the place until she hit the limits of the seal, colliding against an invisible wall.

Kurama didn't even have time to react when, suddenly, she felt her body being pulled by one of her own tails. Minato spun her around and threw her forward with a movement similar to a jiu-jitsu over-the-shoulder throw, strong enough to move a mass as heavy as a mountain and making her collide against the ground on the other side.

Minato wasn't even using his Sage Mode, doing this with pure natural physical strength.

"You...", she tried to speak.

Minato simply sighed. "Well, let's play a little," he said.

Then he began to disappear and reappear in front of Kurama, while she was getting up again, repeatedly, creating a bunch of clones.

Explosions of smoke were created in front of the fox, as about 30 Minatos appeared before her, floating in the air. They looked at the fox with a calm gaze, unlike hers, still filled with hatred.

Minato raised one arm, while the clones did the same, each gathering chakra in the palm of their hand. The Rasengan began to form and, then, wind-element chakra was infused into it, emitting a cutting sound.

Then, more than 30 Rasenshuriken were being created, all being completed one by one.

Kurama knew that jutsu. Her own jinchūriki had already done that before. It was a small explosion, nothing compared to a Bijū Dama, but certainly far more remarkable than anything an ordinary human could create. And now she was seeing this version of Minato launching more than 30 of them.

Suddenly, she began to feel fear.

'How the hell is he creating 30 of that powerful jutsu?' Associating this with the pain she had felt from the previous punches, an even greater fear began to grow in her heart.

'Wait... does he want to kill me?'

For someone who had already been controlled by Madara, then sealed, going from one prison to another with each Jinchūriki, having a moment of temporary freedom only to be controlled again, and in the end divided and sealed into a new child jinchūriki... Kurama had never felt fear of death. She didn't like being split in half, of course—half of her power—but she had never felt what she was feeling now.

She was scared.

Naruto stood slack-jawed behind the bars, watching the scene from a distance. He could see the glows like mini suns, forming a small cluster of stars in front of the fox.

How could Naruto not recognize that jutsu? The sound was thunderous and very familiar. The wind affected his entire mind, making the water beneath his feet recede in small waves.

"How... how can he do that? Isn't that my jutsu?!", Naruto began to shout in shock.

The jutsu he had developed took at least two months to master, pushing his limits to reach Sasuke, only to later be forbidden from using it for damaging his own body. And now he was seeing someone—the supposed Fourth Hokage, the greatest hokage the village ever had—using that same jutsu.

But while he struggled to create one or two... that person simply created more than 30!!

"Is this... the power of the greatest Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village!?", he wondered, in admiration.

Kurama, on the other hand, couldn't maintain the same expression. She was terrified.

Naruto realized that the beast that had terrorized his entire life, full of malice and hatred, was now beginning to shrink back, as if facing her own death.

And what she feared truly happened.

Even Naruto was surprised. He thought Minato would run/fly toward Kurama to hit her with the Rasenshuriken. He was even already thinking of an idea to somehow launch the Rasenshuriken using only clones, which wouldn't harm the main body.

But no. Minato didn't do what Naruto imagined.

He simply threw them all forward, launching them.

Kurama barely had time to react when those shuriken-shaped forms made of raw chakra power advanced toward her massive body. She tried to dodge, but she was too slow to avoid the attack.

The first one began to explode, with an explosion as large as her own body, then another, another, and yet another. Soon came the 12th, the 20th, and the 30th explosion, all being triggered in sequence.

The place lit up with the explosions, while Kurama was completely consumed. It was like a nuclear explosion—the impact even threw Naruto away from the bars, while everything trembled, as if it would collapse and cave in. Even the seal and the gate shook.

Minato remained there, watching Kurama in the middle of the explosion. He had no intention of killing her, he only knew that this would cause some injuries to her body and leave her quite incapacitated. He hadn't launched the Rasenshuriken at maximum destructive power.

When the explosion finally dissipated, a growl echoed. Kurama appeared, completely disheveled. She had several cuts across her body, illuminated by a pure red chakra light. After all, she has no flesh... she is pure chakra.

She was also missing an arm, but all her injuries began to heal rapidly, in real time.

"Fourth Hokage...!", she roared, consumed by humiliation.

She thought she was going to die, but in the end, the attack didn't hurt her like those punches. She didn't die, nor did she feel as much pain as before, but she still felt her body injured. Even being made of chakra, she knew she could die.

Minato watched her. And that enraged her—he showed no surprise, as if he had been seeing exactly what he had planned the whole time, and that enraged her even more.

It didn't matter if this was no longer the Fourth Hokage she knew, she hated him even more than anyone else!

With the exception of Madara.

Kurama opened her mouth, and her nine tails began to align, assisting in the creation of a massive Bijū Dama. Naruto, who had already recovered, couldn't hide his shock as he saw that from inside the cage.

Minato didn't stay between her and Naruto. He moved to the other side, avoiding letting the attack hit the boy, while he waited for her to finish forming the technique.

He was still floating in the air, beginning to form some hand seals.

Kurama completed the Bijū Dama without caring about what Minato might be planning. She was absolutely certain that she would massacre him as soon as the attack hit him.

Minato waited.

And then, she fired.

The space around seemed to distort with that enormous Bijū Dama, but when it approached Minato, something Kurama had already seen before happened.

Suddenly, it stopped.

A few meters away from him, a seal began to emerge around the sphere, completely surrounding it and starting to pull it inward, sucking it in entirely within a few seconds.

Kurama stood there, not knowing how to react.

She had seen that before. Minato had teleported her Bijū Dama when she was being controlled by that Sharingan and attacking the Hidden Leaf Village.

But she didn't expect that, with that size several times larger than a normal Bijū Dama, he would still be capable of absorbing it.

She was wrong, and the mass of chakra disappeared completely. Kurama remained there, just watching, with a perplexed expression.

And, unlike expected, Minato didn't just neutralize the attack—he redirected it to become a counterattack instead of making it explode somewhere else.

Suddenly, the Bijū Dama reappeared behind Kurama, being dragged by a black distortion the same size as itself, growing to the point of making Kurama look like a kitten on top of a ball, embracing it.

"No... it can't be!", Kurama screamed in despair, before trying to brace herself to survive the impact, as the Bijū Dama simply began to self-detonate.

Suddenly, everything shone.

Kurama was completely consumed by the bright energy surrounding her, and soon after, the light of the explosion also swallowed Minato entirely.

The explosion came in the next instant.

If everything had already shaken before, now it was ten times worse.

Naruto saw the shockwave approaching and was thrown like a kite in the wind. "Ahhhh!!!!" He screamed in despair, certain he would be thrown away, but someone grabbed the collar of his shirt from behind, preventing him from flying even farther.

He looked up in surprise.

Minato was there, floating, with several glowing marks on his body, which began to heal him after he had been consumed by the explosion.

"Are you alright?", Minato asked.

Naruto just stared at him, not knowing what to say, completely stunned, unable to form any response.

Minato simply smiled. Then his eyes turned toward the seal, which trembled, while the gate slammed violently, as if it were about to give way. He wondered if that explosion could break it. No, it couldn't. Otherwise, Kurama would have escaped a long time ago.

But he was curious.

Would the other Minato appear? It would be interesting if that happened.

After all, Minato's original chakra still existed within that Naruto's seal, ready to act if it became necessary to reinforce it—especially if Kurama was about to break free.

To protect Naruto.

Soon, the explosion began to dissipate, becoming only a distant echo. The glow gradually faded, and the trembling slowly ceased, until everything returned to normal.

"Looks like it's over," Minato said.

There were no more roars of rage—only silence.

Kurama was completely burned, her body marked and damaged, but her eyes remained the same when they looked at Minato again.

Pure hatred.

Naruto simply watched as Minato landed on the ground with him still held by him.

"Don't worry. She may be full of anger right now, but she can be a good companion. She just hasn't found someone to help her follow the right path," Minato said calmly without taking his eyes off Kurama inside the seal.

Then he let go with a playful air and took a step. His body glowed, and before Naruto could say anything, he disappeared.

In the next instant, he appeared in front of Kurama, landing directly on her snout.

"If you're willing to talk, without all that hatred, we can stop this useless fight," he said. "But I can't allow you to keep harming Naruto."

With those words, Minato disappeared, reappearing a few meters away and forming several hand seals before clapping his hands together. Lines began to appear on his face, forming a pattern of the Sage Mode of Tsuna and Hashirama.

That wasn't a complete Sage Mode, just a fraction of it. Minato had learned that over the course of his training in Uzushiogakure, seeking an even more powerful sealing technique. Since he didn't possess the Adamantine Chains of the Uzumaki clan, he wanted something just as powerful—or even superior.

For that reason, he studied the sealing techniques of the First Hokage.

"Myojinmon!" In the next instant, Kurama didn't even have time to look up when things began to fall.

Pillars shaped like gates appeared out of nowhere from above, embedding directly into her neck like a large Japanese torii gate, pressing her against the ground and leaving her completely immobile. Soon after, more pillars appeared, pinning each of her tails.

Three other even larger pillars descended onto her back like a cascade, increasing the pressure on her body even more.

Minato had basically created a seal within the already existing seal—the one formed with the Minato from the other world, through the use of the Shinigami.

"This... is... Rikudou?", Kurama murmured, dazed, feeling even more pressure. Not even the Fourth Hokage had done something like that.

She looked at that figure.

No... that was not the Fourth Hokage she knew.

It was someone far more powerful—someone who treated her as if she were just a rebellious child, playing with his strength as if it were nothing, and now keeping her completely subdued, unable to move.

"Who are you?", she finally asked.

"So you understand now," Minato mocked lightly. "But don't worry. I am Minato Namikaze as well... just from a completely different world than the one you know, one that Naruto just invaded."

He paused briefly.

"You came here through Naruto's body, but that doesn't matter now. I will return soon... and I hope we can truly talk this time, Kurama."

With that, Minato canceled the mode he was using and walked toward Naruto, stopping in front of him.

Naruto stared at him, still in shock.

Before him stood someone who seemed to be the Fourth Hokage... someone who had just dealt with the greatest threat of his life—the creature that had brought him more suffering than any other person or being—as if it were absolutely nothing.

Throughout his entire life, Naruto had always felt oppressed in the presence of the fox.

But now...

He saw a man who had simply defeated her completely, and didn't even seem to break a sweat.
