Third Person POV.
The Eyrie.
...
...
Daemon still carried the dagger he had taken from him until he placed it inside his dimensional space. They continued walking through the corridors of the Eyrie, while their next stop was Sansa's room.
Opening it was easy and, when he found her in another luxurious chamber, he had already taken down the guards outside with telekinesis, just as he had done in Lysa Arryn's room.
He knew he would have some time before they discovered Petyr Baelish and the unconscious guards.
At that moment, he approached the bed without making a sound. Then he took a small vial containing a sleeping draught he had prepared and moved closer to the girl, while also blocking any sound within the room.
"Hello, cousin." He spoke without showing any warmth in his voice as he looked at his own blood, lying there on the bed.
Of all his cousins, she was the one he liked the least. He still remembered very well her foolishness in King's Landing, not to mention her betrayal, to the point that Daemon had used it against Lord Stark when he insisted on rescuing Sansa from the Red Keep. But Daemon had never cared to bring up her actions and did not do so now. He simply did not like the girl.
In any case, he had said he would take her to Winterfell now. So he would do exactly that.
Before she could react, Daemon placed a hand over her eyes, preventing her from seeing anything, while pressing his fingers over her nose.
Sansa woke up frightened, letting out a scream. Unable to breathe through her nose, she was forced to open her mouth.
That was exactly what Daemon wanted. Ignoring her screams with the sound barrier he had set up in the room, he quickly poured the contents of the vial directly into her mouth. At the same time, he used telekinesis to keep her immobilized.
She immediately began coughing as she felt the strange liquid in her throat, but it was already too late. The liquid had gone down.
Daemon said nothing. Sansa tried to scream and call for the guards, and her cries were in vain. Little by little, exhaustion began to overtake her.
The next moment, she collapsed unconscious. She was wearing only a night robe.
'It would be better to keep her warm. The journey to the North will be long and difficult.' Daemon thought for a moment.
Then he lifted her with telekinesis, letting her limp body float above the bed. He took the blanket she had been sleeping under with telekinesis as well and began wrapping her carefully. Next, he pulled several ropes from his inventory. The ropes spun around the blankets, securing everything firmly, creating a layer to keep her from getting cold during the journey north.
Moments later, Sansa was completely wrapped up and securely bound inside the blankets. Satisfied, Daemon opened the windows.
He pulled Sansa into his arms and braced himself on the ledge, feeling the icy wind coming from the enormous abyss upon which the Eyrie stood crash against his face.
"Hey! There are guards down here!" someone shouted from outside.
Daemon smiled and simply threw himself out the window, beginning to fall in freefall with the unconscious Sansa in his arms.
Not even with all the adrenaline could she wake up. The mixture he had prepared was powerful enough to keep her unconscious. She could have been smashed against the ground without even realizing what was happening.
Daemon continued falling. He used telekinesis to close the windows behind him. If anyone went looking for him, they certainly would not think to look out the window and down the cliff.
He could already hear people trying to open the door when the wind began lashing against his face.
Smiling, he continued the descent. Only when he was far enough from the castle not to attract too much attention did he activate his magic.
Its glow illuminated the darkness for a brief moment, but disappeared shortly afterward. At the same time, the dragons began approaching from below him.
This time, Daemon ended up riding Viridrax, floating toward the green dragon as it hovered in the air, beating its wings.
He landed behind the creature's neck and adjusted Sansa, leaving her stretched out in front of him. She would certainly suffer muscle aches after spending hours in that position, but that did not matter.
"We're heading North." He murmured before giving an order in High Valyrian.
The green dragon immediately surged northward. The white dragon followed close behind as both crossed the mountains and forests of the Vale.
Winterfell appeared several hours later.
Daemon did not fail to glance at the place where the black dragon was being housed. Several torches had been placed around the area to mark its location.
"That must have been my wife's idea." Their bedroom window was positioned facing the dragon. Winterfell had no balconies in the chambers, but one of the rooms could still provide a good view... With the torches lit, it was possible to admire the dragon even during the night. Something Daemon knew Daenerys often did.
In any case, Daemon neither roared nor announced his arrival. It was already the hour of the wolf, and he did not want to wake the town either.
But the guards certainly noticed the sound of wings cutting through the dark sky and became apprehensive.
Even the black dragon raised its head. The two newly arrived dragons emerged before the torch-lit area, revealing themselves as the king's mounts.
Daemon landed calmly beside them. He jumped from the dragon's neck and touched down softly on the ground, still carrying his cousin wrapped in blankets over his shoulder.
"You two, good night." He wished the dragons good night before heading toward Winterfell.
The guards were already shouting about His Majesty's arrival.
They seemed determined to wake the entire castle. 'I really didn't want this...' But since they had already begun spreading the news, he would also have to deal with Sansa's return.
In any case, he moved forward. By the time he reached the courtyard, it was already filled with a crowd carrying torches for light and warmth, while most of them were not even properly dressed, having been dragged from their beds in a hurry.
Bran, Arya, and several others had left their beds to greet Daemon after his sudden arrival.
Bran knew he had gone to the Vale, but he had no idea about his plans to rescue his sister that very night.
When he saw the red hair lying limply beneath the blankets, carried over Daemon's shoulder, his eyes widened. "Sansa!" Bran shouted in surprise.
Daemon smiled. "I grabbed this girl and brought her here."
Arya immediately ran forward. "Is that Sansa? You really got her? You rescued her?"
"I see you're eager to see your sister," Daemon replied. "She arrived before your father and your brother did."
"Is she alright?" Bran asked worriedly as he approached.
Arya wanted to retort, but she showed the same concern as her younger brother.
"I simply gave her a sleeping potion. She won't wake up until tomorrow morning." Daemon had used a mixture strong enough to keep her unconscious throughout the journey, but nothing excessive beyond the intended duration.
That seemed perfectly normal coming from someone who had just transported her on a dragon after leaping from the Eyrie as though it were nothing.
In any case, Daemon handed Sansa over to several men and servants.
"Prepare a room for her. Cut the ropes and let her rest. She'll wake up in the morning." Daemon informed them.
"Please place her in the family wing. Use Robb's room for now, until we can prepare a proper room for her tomorrow," Bran immediately said.
"Of course, my lord."
In any case, Bran's attention returned to Daemon.
"Welcome back, Your Majesty." Several people bowed, as did many of those present. Sansa's arrival had made everyone forget proper etiquette for a moment.
"Rise. It's already very late. There's no reason for us to be bound by protocol." Daemon spoke as he stretched.
Even so, Bran spoke again. "Thank you very much for bringing my sister back safe and sound."
"Well, I only did what needed to be done." Daemon shrugged.
"Anyway, I don't want to waste any more time on anything. I just want to go to bed with my wife." He extended his hand toward Daenerys after taking a few more steps, and she smiled.
Daemon approached and kissed her forehead, clearly seeing the golden and loving aura surrounding her, mixed with a faint trace of lustful desire.
"I thought I would spend this night without the warmth of a husband. I see I was wrong," Daenerys said, returning the smile.
"Good thing I arrived then." Daemon let out a brief laugh.
"Now I just need a bath." He said, and the courtyard quickly began to empty.
"Please change the water in the royal chamber's bathtub. Put in fresh water for His Majesty." Daenerys instructed the servants who were watching the scene.
While Daemon exchanged a few words with her, Lucis also approached to ask about his brother and find out how things were progressing in the south.
Daenerys, Daemon, and Lucis remained outside the chamber for some time while the servants quickly finished changing the bathwater.
Daemon kept petting Ghost while talking with them.
When everything was ready, Daemon said goodbye to Lucis.
"I'll give you my attention tomorrow. But tonight I'll stay with my wife and the child she carries." He said to Lucis, who nodded shyly. She never seemed to lose that side of herself...
After that, Daemon stepped into the bathtub, while Daenerys sat beside him. Only the two of them remained there, with Ghost resting nearby and Barristan Selmy standing guard at the door.
"You're pregnant. You wouldn't need to do this," Daemon said as he entered the water.
"The servants had also suggested helping you..." Daenerys huffed. "Do you think I don't notice those women's intentions? They talk about you all the time."
"Really? Tell me more." Daemon flashed a mischievous smile.
Daenerys simply pushed him against one edge of the bathtub.
"Stop talking and let me start scrubbing your back." She ignored the teasing and began helping him clean himself.
"Besides, I am your wife. It is also my duty to assist my husband, and I don't mind it in the slightest." She said.
Daemon merely sighed, leaning back in the tub while letting Daenerys take care of everything.
When she finished, he wrapped himself in a towel and went to bed with her. Nothing else happened. They simply slept together.
"So, are you going to tell me what's been happening in the capital?" Daenerys asked some time later. "I heard you faced seven knights at the same time in front of practically all the nobles of the realm."
"Not all of them." Daemon leaned over and placed a kiss on her forehead. "Let's rest first. Tomorrow we'll have time to talk. After all, it will still take some time for those troops to reach the Arryn lands."
Daenerys nodded.
The Northerners would still need another day or two to reach White Harbor while continuing their voyage across the sea.
In any case, Sansa woke up early the next morning.
She awoke in fright, still remembering those hands covering her eyes and nose while a strange liquid was poured into her mouth.
The memory left her terrified. She quickly realized that the ceiling above her was different.
What had happened had not been just a nightmare. "What's going on?" She immediately got out of bed and turned her attention toward the window.
Realizing she was not restrained, she got out of bed, though she could not help feeling pain in her back and several muscles... She endured it with clenched teeth before approaching the window to discover where she was.
When she opened it, she was startled. She recognized the walls of Winterfell.
At the same time, she saw three dragons resting some distance away from the castle. Her room faced the same side of the fortress as Daenerys's.
Arya had also insisted on changing rooms so she could observe the dragons after learning about Daenerys's plan to illuminate that area during the night.
"What's going on?" Sansa could not believe it.
She was in Winterfell. How was that possible?
And those dragons...
She recognized the Stark banners, but she also saw Targaryen flags flying above the walls.
One moment she had been in the Eyrie. The next, she found herself in the castle where she had been born, in the North, hundreds of kilometers away, perhaps a thousand kilometers away...
The door opened. Sansa quickly turned around. She was still wearing the nightclothes she had slept in when she saw several guards bearing the Stark sigil.
"My lady, you're already awake. I'll inform Lord Stark!"
"Wait! What's going on? Why am I in Winterfell?" Sansa immediately shouted.
"You were brought here by the king, my lady. I was told that His Majesty took you from Petyr Baelish, who was keeping you at the Eyrie. He brought you here on his dragon last night."
The guard explained, while Sansa could barely believe what she was hearing.
A roar caught her attention. The dragons were making sounds in the distance while servants carried food to them. From what she could see, they were whole oxen, already dead.
She was startled, but could not help letting out a sigh. In her heart, she was home.
The door that had been closed opened once again. And there was someone Sansa could hardly believe she was seeing.
Her younger sister.
Arya.
The two stared at each other for a moment. Any hurt or resentment vanished immediately. Then they ran toward each other and embraced.
"You idiot! Why did you take so long?" Arya complained.
She certainly had many things she wanted to say to her sister, but at that moment she simply hugged her tightly.
"I can't believe it... Arya... you're here... in Winterfell..." Sansa could barely speak. "I heard about it. Lord Royce had told me you were safe."
"I arrived long before you did!" Arya said and remained hugging her for a few more moments.
Then the door opened again. This time, the person who entered made the two sisters separate. Sansa stared at the figure before her.
"Mother..." the boy murmured.
Sansa could not hold back an emotional laugh at being mistaken for her mother. "It's me, Rickon, Sansa!" Sansa ran forward to hug him.
Tears immediately came to both of them.
And shortly afterward, someone else entered.
Bran.
"You're walking!" Sansa exclaimed.
Bran walked up to her normally and embraced her. "It's been some time, sister." There was something far more mature in his voice now.
The four siblings talked for some time about everything that had happened.
Sansa felt deeply guilty about many things. But her siblings made a conscious effort not to bring those matters up at that moment.
She was still confused, frightened, and lost.
Later, she made her way to the great hall.
There she found the king himself having breakfast while talking with his wife. They seemed to be having a pleasant conversation as they exchanged smiles while speaking.
The king.
That man she had once despised when he had been known only as her bastard half-brother. Sansa knew very well the anger he harbored toward House Stark.
And, if the rumors were true, her father would be sentenced to the Wall when he arrived at Winterfell, even after fighting an entire war alongside the new king. That was an agreement he and her father had reached...
Sansa nevertheless approached, interrupting their conversation, while the king and queen turned their attention toward her.
"Your Majesty," she said, bowing as etiquette required.
She had already been seen by the maester, and they had also provided her with some clothes. Some of the dresses had once belonged to her mother and had been kept hidden away, which was a little strange, but they still fit her well.
"Lady Sansa. It seems you've awakened." Daemon spoke in a courteous tone, but there was no warmth in his voice.
It was as though he were speaking to any unknown noble, merely out of politeness. Sansa was no longer that naïve girl who would fail to notice such a thing.
"I want to thank you for taking me from the Eyrie and bringing me back home," Sansa replied.
"Well, I made an agreement with your father. I said I would do it, and here I am, keeping my word." Daemon shrugged. "He should return to Winterfell within one or two weeks along with your brother Robb."
"Even so, thank you, Your Majesty. I also hope for a safe return for my father and my brother..." The words felt strange in her mouth, but she spoke them anyway.
Daemon merely nodded. "Very well. Now sit down and eat with your family. You must still be feeling some discomfort from flying on a dragon..." That was all he said.
There were no warm words. There was no affection. There was no love between them.
Despite how polite he was in asking that, Sansa knew it.
And she deeply regretted it. If she had not been such a foolish girl, she would not have caused so many problems for her family.
But now it was too late. There were some things that could never be recovered.
