Chapter 285 - Chapter 285 - Issuing a Challenge to Dorne.

[Chapter Size: 2500 Words.]

Third Person POV.

Dorne.

...

...

The journey to Dorne took only a few hours. Viridrax headed straight for the capital, arriving and going directly to the castle, which had been sealed off due to the freezing and dangerous air. So much so that, even in the sky, it was possible to feel the cold reaching that latitude.

"Well, the people of Dorne should thank me for creating a cool environment in this entire desert hell of heat." Daemon couldn't help but comment before pushing himself off and jumping from Viridrax's back, leaving the dragon behind and falling freely directly over Sunspear.

The dragon was seen only as a distant bird by everyone down below. Since it had never flown openly in the sky, no one knew of its existence; Daemon had made sure of that. He had even left Winter behind because two dragons would be a bit unnecessary for an infiltration mission.

He fell rapidly over Sunspear and, close to the ground, activated his levitation spell. Immediately, green squares began circling around him, reducing his speed and nullifying the sudden deceleration that would normally crush his body under G-force, until he transitioned into a glide.

Also activating a cold-resistance spell, since the place was frozen, he calmly descended through the area and began walking into the castle, with ice marks everywhere and frozen bodies as well.

There was no one alive there anymore. He even found a few bodies scattered across the ground. People who had failed to escape in time and had breathed the deadly air created by Winter's breath.

In any case, he proceeded to Doran's chamber, finding the throne empty. He tore it out before placing it into his personal inventory. He also went to the treasury, taking advantage of the fact that it seemed no one had reached it thanks to the ice. Some had tried, but they were dead; even wearing clothes, the air itself was too dangerous for the lungs.

After collecting all the riches, including Aegon's own crown—the Conqueror's crown—among the items in the vault, he put on a cloak and summoned a daedra, asking it to cast an invisibility spell on him. After dressing in a cloak similar to those he had seen the people of Dorne wear, he moved out of the castle to venture through the streets, without anyone being able to see him leaving the palace.

The city was large, but with Clairvoyance and even with the birds he had sent to observe things, he already knew where he needed to go.

After all, he was still after the last Lannister he had not taken the last time he had been here. Daemon wanted to get the girl.

He continued until he found himself standing in front of one of the city's mansions. It wasn't only the Martell family that possessed wealth in Sunspear. Obviously, this was the capital of Dorne.

At some point, his invisibility wore off, but using his stealth abilities, he walked there without drawing attention.

Upon entering an alley, he summoned another daedra to renew his invisibility. Then he entered the property, passing by the guards unnoticed and making his way into the mansion.

He already knew where Myrcella was, in a room on the second floor. But first, he went to the lord of that mansion.

There was no reason to simply take Myrcella and leave. That would be too easy, and Daemon preferred to work with chaos. He wanted to draw attention when his dragon simply landed in the middle of the mansion grounds later.

So he advanced easily through the place. After taking down two guards at the entrance to the manor, using an invisible force to slam their heads directly against the wall, Daemon entered the office.

"Clery, I've already told you not to come into this place while I'm working!" the man said without even looking at the door, his voice laden with irritation.

"Then I'm lucky I'm not that servant or wife of yours, whoever it is you're so irritated with." Daemon said, making the man immediately look at him and widen his eyes upon recognizing his face. After all, Daemon's purple eyes drew a lot of attention.

"You..." he said in disbelief.

"Well, it seems you know me." Daemon smiled.

"Who else with such eyes would appear like this in Dorne after all the chaos? What did you do to the Martells?" the man exclaimed. Already trying to call for other guards, but Daemon didn't seem to care.

Immediately, he grabbed the scimitar that was beside the desk inside a sheath. Even so, he did not advance against Daemon. He merely took a few steps back and drew the weapon, like a cornered rat.

"You shouldn't worry so much about the Martells. After all, they no longer exist. The war in the North is over as well. Your Blackfyre is dead. Prince Doran, Prince Oberyn, Trystane, and Arianne are all dead, as are Oberyn's bastards." Daemon said casually.

The man's face immediately darkened. "You're lying!" was his first reaction.

"Well, it doesn't matter whether you believe me or not. In any case, I've already seen the scorpions you're trying to build on the walls... You're preparing for me, interesting..." Daemon said with a smile.

"Guards!" he began to shout, but Daemon decided to help him while raising his head toward the ceiling.

"Fus Ro Dah!" The moment he shouted, a Thu'um exploded through the place. A sonic wave emerged, making the entire mansion shake violently.

Even the surrounding area and a good portion of the city turned their eyes in that direction. And many could see the mansion's roof exploding upward, breaking apart as a blue force emerged, throwing everything into the air.

Inside that manor, Daemon exclaimed as he watched the roof explode, while the man—whose name Daemon had not even bothered to learn—looked on in horror as the roof of his house came apart.

The shadows disappeared, revealing only the open sky with debris scattered in every direction.

The man staggered back and fell to the floor with intense pain in his ears and a deafening ringing sound, staring wide-eyed at what had just happened.

Daemon simply lifted him with telekinesis. Dragging him with an invisible force, he made the man fall before him before grabbing him by the hair and forcing him to look at the sky.

"Look. Look up and tell me if your Dornish scorpions can fight against that." Daemon said before shouting once more.

"Strun Bah Qo!" The roof had not even finished collapsing and debris was still scattered across the grounds and even the streets when the second Thu'um emerged.

A new force echoed and surged toward the sky. At the same time, the entire sky began to darken.

In the same way he had caused chaos in the Vale of Arryn, he had just created an enormous storm that was invading part of Dorne.

Rain in the desert would certainly be a good thing. But the storm Daemon created was not an ordinary cloud.

The man beneath Daemon's feet was trembling as he watched everything unfold before his eyes. The clear sky transformed into endless darkness.

Rain, wind, and lightning began to appear completely out of control in the next moment.

A storm unlike anything Dorne had ever seen erupted over the entire region, with the capital serving as the eye of the hurricane.

"Can Dorne handle this?" Daemon's words came laden with irony.

Meanwhile, lightning bolts began striking the city one after another.

People screamed in fear. The wind knocked over stalls, swept away merchandise, and spread chaos through the streets.

The docks were in turmoil. Massive waves began surging forward, flooding the piers and even the nearby inns and taverns, while people searched for shelter in every direction.

No one cared anymore about the exploded roof of the mansion in one part of the city, not even the guards. They only looked on in terror at what they were seeing, wondering what was happening, as if it were divine punishment upon Dorne.

"As long as Dorne refuses to submit to me, I'll create these storms every day. I can do this all the time."

Some lightning strikes hit the city, causing fires. Soon, several columns of flame began rising everywhere.

"Can Dorne endure this?" Daemon said in a tone full of challenge.

If that man had not believed Daemon's words before, even after seeing Sunspear frozen, now, after witnessing this, there was no longer any reason to doubt.

"Anyway, I'll be leaving Dorne. I only came to take the Lannister girl and also carry off Doran's throne. Now I'll be on my way."

"Whoever you are, you must have some influence. Tell everyone that what happened today was only a warning. I'll deal with anyone who becomes a threat regardless. Goodbye." Daemon simply kicked him before leaving the room.

As he advanced through the corridors, he passed servants running in desperation. He didn't care about them in the slightest, ignoring the questions and shouts about what was happening.

Then he went to another room. The door was broken, and there should have been guards there, but none were in sight. He simply broke the door open and entered.

He found a frightened girl hiding beneath the blankets on the bed.

She was looking out the window at the sky, terrified, before turning her attention back to Daemon.

"You!" Myrcella screamed.

Daemon approached her as the girl trembled and began throwing objects in his direction. Using telekinesis, he created an invisible shield that protected him from the cups and bottles she hurled in complete desperation.

"You killed my family!" she accused.

"Well, they basically killed mine first. Doesn't seem very fair now, does it?" Daemon replied with a shrug.

The girl began to cry.

Daemon stepped closer. "I didn't kill your younger brother, if you want to know. He was sent to the Wall along with your uncle Tyrion. They should be arriving at Eastwatch soon."

Myrcella stared at him through tears. "You killed my father!" she shouted again.

Daemon thought for a moment. "Which one? Never mind. I really did kill both of them. But your mother helped kill that fat one first, poisoning him after I mutilated him." Daemon replied.

"As for Jaime... well, I executed him in front of his father. I wanted that old lion to feel exactly what Elia felt when I saw my brother smashed against a wall when he was just a baby." Daemon said.

Myrcella began crying even harder, unable to respond.

After a few moments, she managed to ask only one question: "What's going to happen to me?"

"I'm not going to kill you. You'll serve the Silent Sisters. How about that? You can hate me for the rest of your life, it doesn't matter. But if you want to blame someone, blame your family. Blame your grandfather, since he brought about this disaster."

With those words, Daemon simply struck the girl on the head, knocking her unconscious. Then he walked to the room's balcony and jumped.

Activating the levitation spell as he fell, he landed calmly on the ground. The next instant, an enormous shadow descended directly over him in the garden.

The dragon itself. It landed there with force, roaring and announcing its presence in the middle of the storm.

Daemon jumped onto its back, holding the unconscious Myrcella.

The dragon moved forward, leaving the capital behind amidst the storm, before rising above the black clouds themselves and heading north.

Daemon went to Storm's End, landing the dragon outside the walls. No one was particularly startled, already accustomed to the green dragon.

He leaped from the dragon and advanced while carrying Myrcella, who still remained unconscious.

"Your Majesty!" The men quickly came to receive him after the gates were opened.

Daemon had already established his dominance over Storm's End during the last encounter, when he killed Edric Storm, Loras Tyrell, and the Queen of Thorns, Olenna Tyrell.

In any case, he handed the girl over to those responsible for receiving him. "I want you to imprison her and place her in a room like Margaery. Afterward, take both of them to the Silent Sisters."

"Remember: these girls are not to be touched. Anyone who lays a hand on them will be killed. Understood?" Daemon made that very clear to the maester who approached.

The man nodded quickly. "It will be done, Your Majesty."

Even in the midst of war, Daemon knew very well how women from defeated families were usually treated. But he still cared about that kind of crime.

He would not tolerate that. Afterward, he did not remain in Storm's End any longer.

He departed directly for the Reach, west of the Stormlands. Once again, he descended from the sky with the dragon, landing in the garden of Highgarden's fortress.

The Tyrell men still remembered very well the terror of seeing a dragon appear in the middle of the castle.

"You..." The maester, the only survivor after Daemon killed practically all the Tyrells before capturing Willas, did not even know how to react.

"Hello, maester. Before you ask, the Tyrell family is already dead anyway. I came to get something I forgot last time. I hope you don't mind."

Daemon said as he advanced into the castle. No one tried to stop him. Everyone had seen the chaos and death he had created on his own.

But at the same time, everyone who heard him froze upon hearing those words. The Tyrell family was dead. With the letters still traveling from the capital, obviously no one there possessed that information.

Daemon walked to where the seat of the former King of the Reach was and took it.

Then he proceeded to the vaults. He broke open the door without any difficulty and began collecting everything.

Dead families would no longer need their wealth. Daemon could say that the Targaryen family was now richer than ever before.

He had emptied the vaults of the Tullys, the Lannisters, the Citadel, the Martells, and the Tyrells, among various sources of wealth.

Of course, that did not represent the entirety of those families' fortunes. Many of them had large sums deposited in the Iron Bank.

But with the deaths of the Lannisters, the Tyrells, and the Martells, Daemon intended to take possession of those accounts as well. With his contacts inside the Iron Bank, he would not have much difficulty transferring everything to the Crown's name.

It was already night when he finished. Even so, he mounted his dragon and departed.

Hours later, he arrived at King's Landing. Now he needed to prepare. He would take only a small fraction of his army to attack the Vale of Arryn and deal with the rebels who still resisted.

Especially Petyr Baelish.
