Chapter 230 - Chapter 230 - Conquering King's Landing 01.

[Chapter Size: 2600 Words.]

Third Person POV.

King's Landing.

...

...

The first line of defense that Daemon encountered were the Gold Cloaks themselves, who seemed to have no choice but to try to fight the front line that was coming with the great cavalry.

Their bows were quickly raised and arrows fired, as Daemon lifted his hand, expanding a magical shield. The arrows struck against the barrier, hitting only a few horses at the far edges, but they were few as Daemon expanded his shield to defend everyone behind him.

The street was not very wide, and Daemon managed to defend most of them while continuing to ride forward. They still tried to fire useless arrows, but he was already upon them.

He grabbed a spear from a white walker that he kept in his dimensional space and struck the first enemy, while his horse advanced over the men. He himself created a shield around the animal so that the horse would not get hurt.

His spear remained outside the shield, like a weapon of the white walkers, it shattered all enemy shields like glass, killing them with ease.

The rest of Daemon's cavalry came right behind. Although they needed to force their way through with their own horses, they quickly tore through the first line, with the gold cloaks already desperate after seeing their arrows useless and futilely trying to hold back the enemy.

It was a massacre. They did not even have a chance. More and more horses came, piercing the enemies one by one.

In an instant, the entire first line of defense of the city, made up of the Gold Cloaks, fell. They scattered through the streets fleeing from the horses.

The Lannister army was right behind, quickly trying to get into position. Due to the confusion with soldiers who initially did not want to fight for the Lannisters and the small rebellions that were happening, they did not have time to prepare before the attack, after all the enemy cavalry was behind the infantry, still preparing to fight Daemon's horses.

Daemon was the first to throw himself against the enemies on the ground, who had their spears raised, preparing to face the Targaryen cavalry. Daemon had to cast a small spell on his horse's ears so that it would not go deaf from the next move. As he made the horse lower its head, he lifted his chin, puffing out his chest, already right in front of the spearmen soldiers.

"Fus Ro Dah!"

With the shout of Unrelenting Force, the entire street succumbed before him. The shockwave sent dozens of men flying, their bones breaking with the violence of the blast. They were thrown like rag dolls, crashing against the houses, some even hitting the upper floors, while others simply smashed against their companions.

The enemy cavalry, positioned behind the infantry, was frightened. The horses were restless. Even Daemon's allied horses became agitated by the roar.

But in the face of this, Daemon advanced alone, fearless, going straight against the enemy cavalry filled with Lannister banners. He could even see Kevan Lannister among them, shouting orders to his men from a distance. There were hundreds spread throughout the streets.

Daemon's infantry was already entering through the broken wall at the city's entrance, advancing against the enemies who had survived the impact of the cavalry, while they began to spread through the city, moving along the streets and searching for anyone who had a sword raised against them.

Winter flew low near the city, roaring and further frightening the adversaries. Daemon did not want her to unleash ice in the middle of the city, for he knew it would be problematic, poisoning the air beyond what she had already done at the walls. The dragon was merely a distraction.

As for Daemon, he once again prepared to unleash a Thu'um as he reached the Lannister cavalry.

"Yol Toor Shul!" He opened his mouth and roared like thunder, unleashing a torrent of flames, spreading fire as he advanced forcefully down the main street, striking the enemy cavalry and turning men and horses into ashes almost immediately. The attack was so devastating that it frightened even the other soldiers and mounts around them.

Kevan Lannister saw everything with trembling hands. How could they deal with that kind of monster? A man who made soldiers fly through the air or unleashed flames like a dragon in human form, not to mention all the other powers he possessed, such as transforming into a massive wolf the size of a giant.

At the entrance of the city, as more than 100 thousand men entered, the giants were among them. The army did not have many giants. Only thirty came south, for bringing them was disadvantageous, and Daemon had asked the king of the giants, Mag the Mighty, who was his friend, to leave most of the species protecting the North.

When the giants entered the battlefield passing through the city's wall, and joined the fight against the Gold Cloaks and the men of the Lannister army who still tried to resist the forces of Daemon Targaryen, all the enemies were frightened at the sight of the ground trembling as those figures approached, armed with spears and shields. Although they did not wear armor, they had thick hides enough to protect themselves.

As soon as they began to attack, it was a massacre. Their spears pierced the enemies as if they were pieces of meat, lifting them into the air with ease. Some giants simply hurled the bodies away to free their spears and continue advancing.

While the thirty giants spread through the city, the cavalry had already reached the enemy cavalry who were not burning under Daemon's power, and individual battles began everywhere. Daemon left his horse and walked through the flames without fear, he no longer needed the horse and told it to move away and find a safe place.

He had already cleared the way for the army to enter. That was all he needed to do with his steed.

Winter landed near him, staring at him for a moment. Daemon ignored her and headed toward where Kevan was, behind hundreds of soldiers.

"Where is Tywin? I thought he would be leading the army. I did not imagine he would hide behind his brother, such courage from the great lion." Daemon's voice roared through the streets. Kevan frowned.

Even from a distance, he could not respond, but it was certainly a strong enough provocation to make his soldiers uneasy. Kevan felt their morale waver. That man knew exactly where to strike.

Daemon had not finished there. As he stored his White Walkers' ice spear away, no one dared to attack him. Even seeing him there exposed and unarmed, they were far too disturbed.

That man faced them alone, while behind him battles raged between the Lannister cavalry and the massive invading army. Daemon even found himself wondering why they had not surrendered yet, it being clearly a lost battle.

In any case, he acted. He took a step forward, stared at the Lannisters, and roared a new Thu'um, Dragon Aspect.

"Mul Qah Diiv!"

The moment he unleashed the shout, an energy burst from his body, beginning to take shape in yellow, blue, and red colors with spectral glows. It was the first time Daemon used that ability in that world: the dragon specter resembled a complete armor, a form of the dragonborn becoming a dragon himself that enveloped his body.

He stared at the enemies, who did not seem comfortable at all seeing him in that form. Then he raised his head and, in the next instant, unleashed another Thu'um.

The enemies were already frightened, but what came next made everything even more dreadful. Storm Call

"Strun Bah Qo!" The roar shot into the sky like a powerful energy, in the spectral dragon state, the powers of the Shouts became far more powerful.

The sky not only above the city, but across the entire region began to close in; the few clouds multiplied rapidly. The sun disappeared behind dark clouds, lightning split the sky, and a sudden rain began to fall, accompanied by strong winds and violent thunder.

Daemon stared at the enemies beneath the storm he himself had summoned.

"By the Seven"

"Is he a god?!"

Shouts began, the city was in panic as the world seemed to be ending with that storm without warning.

The first soldier simply dropped his sword and knelt in the trembling rain. This was no longer an ordinary battle; it was a display of something they could not fight against.

The entire city was in collapse as the storm enveloped everything. Those who witnessed Daemon could only say that he was some kind of god, wrapped in his spectral draconic armor.

Daemon took another step forward. More men began to kneel. Kevan could not stop the trembling in his body as he saw his soldiers completely lose the will to fight.

Daemon saw this and looked at the sky. "Lok Vah Koor!" It was only a demonstration to break the enemy, since he was already affecting his own allies as well with fear. The sky cleared a moment later as if the storm had never existed.

For the Lannister men, it was not relief, but rather an even greater display of a god's power before them.

Daemon continued advancing. The men quickly made way for him. He did not stop at any moment, passing by the kneeling soldiers who looked at him with fear — and even with a glint of worship.

"I wonder, Kevan Lannister, how you would like to die." Daemon spoke as he walked through the crowd. He was getting closer and closer to Kevan. No one else seemed willing to stop him or protect the Lannister.

"Will you die with a sword in your hand or die in an execution? What do you prefer?" He said calmly, already standing before Kevan Lannister.

Kevan merely sighed, seeming to accept his own fate. He faced Daemon, still feeling hatred, but aware that it was useless to fight that man... or whatever he was, after all.

"Tell me one thing… my daughter and my wife are alive?"

"Yes," Daemon nodded, stepping even closer.

"And what do you intend to do with them?" Kevan asked.

"I will remove the Lannister name from them, and they will go to the Silent Sisters. They will never have children, lands, or titles. It is the most I can do. Your sister tried to poison me when she was a prisoner. She believed she could save House Lannister with that, but she should have known that poison would not work very well on me. So I condemned her, along with her children. My sentence was to send them to live on the Wall. Genna would have had the same fate as your wife and daughter, but she thought herself too clever."

Kevan simply nodded at that. He seemed to ease some of the hatred. He was less bitter knowing that his wife and daughter could still live, even under harsh conditions. They would still breathe.

"I am sorry for what happened to your brother and sister. I never wanted to take part in that," Kevan said, dismounting from his horse. Daemon was now only a few meters away from him. The Lannister soldiers watched without interfering, leaving an open space between the two.

"There is no way to change the past, Lord Kevan. Your brother led your family to exterminate innocent children. Now your family is paying for it. You know very well what it feels like to hate someone for killing your family, do you not?" Daemon mocked, knowing he was doing the same that Tywin had once done to him.

Kevan took a deep breath and gripped his sword firmly.

"Very well. Then I prefer to die on the battlefield, with my sword in my hands. I only ask that you spare my last son, send him to the Wall if that is your only option."

Daemon, still wrapped in the spectral dragon armor, nodded. He drew Dark Sister and placed it at his side, preparing for combat.

The soldiers swallowed hard as they waited for the first move. Surprisingly, it came from Kevan.

Kevan charged forward with all the speed he could muster, raising his sword and delivering a direct strike.

Daemon barely made an effort to defend himself. Kevan took a few steps back and advanced again, attacking with more force, but Daemon continued moving calmly, showing no sign of difficulty. It was obvious that Kevan was at a disadvantage, yet he still fought.

In a moment of desperation, Kevan thrust directly at Daemon's chest, and Daemon allowed the Lannister to strike him. The blade hit the armor, and the impact was felt, but it did not leave even a scratch.

Kevan was left speechless as he realized that he could not wound him. Not even with all his strength.

"It's over." Daemon moved in a single swift motion.

His sword sliced through Kevan's neck. The Lannister's eyes widened, stunned, as blood poured inside the golden armor.

Daemon simply walked past him as he fell, stopping shortly after.

Kevan dropped to his knees, blood flowing and staining the bright gold. Moments later, he collapsed to the ground, dead.

Not a single Lannister man there said a word. They only kept their eyes fixed on that bizarre fight, especially on Daemon, praying that he would not change his mind about accepting their surrender.

A horse came running up beside them, and Daemon could see Sandor approaching, grumbling something about Daemon having charged ahead when he had asked Sandor to stay by his side.

Soon after, Val arrived. Her horse stopped, and she looked at Kevan lying on the ground. Sandor could not help swallowing hard at the sight of Daemon in that transformation. Even Val was stunned to see him turned into a living weapon within a magical draconic armor.

"Sandor, I want you to protect Val in my absence. There will be no more resistance, but keep your eyes open. There is always a fool. Follow the plan. In the middle of the city there is wildfire that the queen placed secretly, so follow the defined route so you are not caught in explosions. She is only waiting for us to get there."

Daemon spoke while Winter had leapt onto a nearby building, descending between the houses and crushing walls and rooftops with her own weight.

Daemon used his telekinesis and removed Kevan Lannister's head, picking it up effortlessly. Then he went to the dragon and mounted Winter, who immediately shot into the sky from the middle of the street.

The cavalry was already surrounding the surrendered Lannisters.

Manderly arrived and remained looking with curiosity at the dragon flying away. Then he turned to Val with a questioning look.

"Follow the plan. Daemon said the city will have no more resistance now. Just be careful with the risk area he already indicated. We will avoid it and meet Daemon later. He probably went to the castle to deal with the last resistance." She said, and everyone nodded.

Stannis, who was also among the cavalry, began shouting orders, organizing his men. Lord Manderly took care of the Northern cavalry and also gave instructions. Brynden Tully, who was with the cavalry from the stormlands, ordered them to advance toward the center of the city, hoping that his nephew was still alive in the Red Keep.

Meanwhile, the dragon advanced, just as on the previous night, directly toward the castle where the last enemies were hiding.
