My vision got redder and redder. I could hear a voice calling me to drink his blood, to devour him....
I listened to the voice and then my mind went blank.
Blackness overcame me and then everything went black.

When I opened My eyes I found myself in a completely black void. There was no light coming from any direction. All around me was only a thick darkness that made it impossible for me to make out anything.
"Am I dead?? Is this where people go after they die?" I wondered aloud. "Is there some kind of limbo, waiting room for the afterlife? Am I still alive or am I now dead?"
As if in answer to my questions, a soft white glow suddenly started emanating from nowhere and grew brighter by the second until it filled my entire field of vision. The brightness was blinding at first but soon enough my eyes adjusted to the brightness and I began to see what lay beyond the bright light.
I suddenly found myself infront of a building block. I looked around, finding the structure of the building very familiar to me. I felt as though I had been there before, like something about the place was familiar even though I couldn't remember exactly why it felt that way. My memories were a bit fuzzy.
"Wait isn't this the orphanage where I lived?" I asked myself, "What am I doing here?"
*Muaaaa*
The sound of a child's cry echoed through the silence around us. I approached it, noticing an infant in front of the orphanage door. I approached the youngster and knelt in front of him on one knee. He appeared sickly and malnourished. His skin was pale with dark patches. He looked up at me. His eyes were the same as mine?

I stared at him dumbfounded, not knowing how to react at all.
Then it vanished. I found myself in a new location. This time, I saw some kids beating up on a kid with pale skin and a skinny body.
I immediately recognised the kid who was being beaten up. Afterall, it was me.
I watched as the other kids beat him, his face twisted in pain and a few groans escaped his mouth.
"why are you doing this? stop it...,
But even if my words were spoken clearly, no one heard them or paid any attention to them. The kids continued to laugh and taunt each other, while continuing to beat up their victim.
Just like the previous time, it also vanished. And again I found myself in a different place with a different set of memories playing out.
This time I found myself standing near a window looking over the other kids of my age playing outside. I also wanted to play with them but my weak body won't be able to support such physical exhaustion.
The cycle repeated itself over and over again. I also watched it over and over again....
Sometimes I would also find memories that I had long forgotten.
I didn't even question myself as to "why is this happening to me?". Because it didn't matter anymore.
I just watched. I observed the things going on around me, and felt nothing at all. My heart wasn't in anything, nor did my mind care about any of it.
It happened for days. Maybe weeks. Or months?
I don't know how many times it's gone on but, eventually something changed. Even though I knew all of this was distant memory from the past of mine, I still got angry at the sight. For the first time in god knows when, I finally felt angry, angry at myself for being so weak, angry that I was not even able to fight back.
At that moment everything crumbled and vanished, the void turned red and I found myself standing on top of a lake.
No, it was not a lake, It was a pool of blood..
"So, did you like what you have seen?".
Behind me, I heard a voice.
When I turned around, I was stunned to see who it was. He looked exactly like me, with the exception of his eyes. They were deep scarlet colours.
"who are you?". I asked firmly.
"ohh, it's a bit rude coming from you. it's looks like you don't even know your 'true self" he said shaking his head sideways as if to show his disappointment.
"what do you mean by "my true self? " I asked him curious to know what he was talking about.
He didn't answer my questions, he just snapped his finger and...
*snap*
I could see myself fighting and killing the people who attacked me. I could hear the sounds of their voices, see the expressions on their faces as they died.
"How did you feel when you killed them?" (Alter Alex)
To be honest, I wanted to say no to his questions. I wanted to tell him that I felt horrible taking someone's life, but "who was I kidding?". I can deceive everyone, but "How can I deceive myself?"
I again looked towards the scene playing infront of me. It was clear that they were trying to kill me so I killed them, plain and simple. I didn't feel any remorse or sympathy for taking their lives.
'Does that mean I enjoyed killing them'?
That wasn't the case, though. The act of simply taking someone's life did not appeal to me.
Rather than that I enjoyed the thrill of the fight. I enjoyed the sensetion of winning over my enemy. I enjoyed the feeling of superiority and power that came after a hard fought victory.
It was intoxicating and exhilarating.
While he was lost in his thoughts he failed to notice that all the blood in his surroundings had begun to swirl around him, creating a whirlpool of red.
"Hahaha, I didn't expect anything less from my other self" (Alter Alex)
I opened my eyes to see the other 'me' standing right infront of me. He stretched his hands towards my chest and pushed me hard.
"This is only the beginning"
