Depending upon one's definition of betrayal, Alwin may or may not be betraying his lord. Thus, he did not answer her question and instead asked, "Have you not spoken with His Majesty or Her Majesty about it?"
"N-no. I haven't met them since that night. I had been receiving my tasks from Eunice. But…"
It meant the Empress was keeping her distance. She must have wanted to speak with Alwin about what they should do with Blanca going forward. Or she was reminded of Renee's betrayal in their past life and no longer wanted to deal with Blanca at all. But then again, she was quite softhearted, so she would likely forgive Blanca. She forgave even that princess of a foreign nation whom she herself had heard mocking her in their past life, so Blanca would likely go off easily.
Thus, Alwin needed to be the one to be strict with Blanca, or else she would think it was alright to disobey their orders in the future.
