Within the Chaos, there existed beings of incredible power and authority.
They could create worlds with a snap of their fingers, develop races and destroy them when they tire, and do as they wish with no consequences.
They were Creators.
The Creators were distributed between various factions. Those factions being the Light alliance, the Dark Council, the independents and the variables.
These factions were created based on the power they utilised to create life; The light alliance would use the power of Light to expand their galaxies and universes, gathering more and more light power through the souls of mortals. The stronger the Mortal or God created by the Creator, the more Light power they could utilise. Hence, growth of the mortals under the creators rule was of upmost importance.
However, there was a limit to their creation power. Eventually, they had to rely on their underlings to develop the universe and ensure more Gods were born and in turn, more Light power was at the creators disposal.
The Dark council utilised the power of Darkness in the same way. Instead of expanding their own Galaxy or universe however, they would invade other universe worlds or plains to take over the mortals there. Once the creator of that said universe had expanded his creation power and his Gods were slain, the universe would be ripe for the taking.
The Council was formed as typically numerous creators had to come together to efficiently take over a newly discovered world. It wasn't something one could accomplish on their own.
The Individual faction were comprised of those that had not utilised either light or dark power to improve their own strength, but invented a wholly new power to elevate themselves.
These creators typically would be known as geniuses, or had avid imaginations.
Tao Jue himself created 'Faith' to increase the strength of his subordinates and himself based of his previous life's memories, a benefit the other creators did not have.
Finally, the variables were creators that were for no better word, insane.
They would act as they wanted and would be difficult to approach or discuss matters with. If invaded, they wouldn't mind bringing the invading creator down with them by abandoning their universe and counterattacking their invaders, instead of defending. Hence, the Dark council usually left them alone.
Typically, these creators were well known with recognisable titles.
This meant the Dark Council could only try to find individual worlds throughout the Chaos, or invade Light based worlds. Reinforcements for the light based faction universes were the reason they didn't invade them unless necessary.
Further segmenting creators were the type of specialisation they lived by.
Some creators would develop worlds with terrifying creatures born for battle, others would focus on weapon smithing or agriculture, and others would choose niche specialisations as they could be protected by their respective faction; hence they could do whatever they wanted.
But Creators were not, in fact, almighty.
Above the Creators existed beings even more unfathomable, and above that, even chaos-building abilities could surface. Creators were sometimes known as lower-level Immortals.
In order not to gain the ire of these higher beings, creators would focus on fighting each other for territory, and not interacting with those terrifying beings that had their location known.
The Dark Alliance headquarters was actually a large world thousands of times greater in size than the Earth, and was desolate with the exception of a few elder creators currently in discussion.
In a hall at the centre of the world, a dark alliance creator muttered, "one of my underling Minor Gods has discovered a newly created world. It utilised an unknown power not seen before, by either the light or dark factions." He spoke in a crude low voice.
"Interesting, could it be one of the variables? You must be careful of this, we don't want a repeat of last time" another spoke back, recalling the suicidal variable creator that took down three dark alliance elders.
"Have no fear, fellow elders. From the information I have gathered, it is a new creator barely even a hundred thousand years of age" he said with glee.
Although they could create words and galaxies, they could only do so in their own respective universes. If conquered, another rival creator could take the power of the deceased and own two universes, with all the space that comes with it.
The Tattoos, or depictions of their creations, would also transform back to creation power and be given to the killer. This was the reason the dark alliance was created and was so powerful now.
If they could bully a newly risen creator with a few Supreme Gods, they could easily take more power and authority. Hence, the elder that found this universe was extremely excited and only called a few other elders of the Dark Alliance here to cooperate with an invasion.
The other elders were also ecstatic after finding out about the creators origins. They would make plans to invade the barely-founded universe as soon as possible.
——
Five hundred years have passed since the incident, and Tao Jue snapped awake.
Looking towards a direction on Earth's southern continent, he furrowed his brows and muttered, "They're here, huh."
