Rune and Trina moved forward with caution. As they progressed, the scenery of destroyed rubble gradually transitioned to one of opulence.
The buildings were made from the same white stone but were much more extravagant. They were trimmed in gold and accented with crimson gems. The district was lit by crystalline street lamps whose light practically banister the dark of night.
The quiet ruins grew louder the closer they crept, and looks of confusion swept over Rune and Trina's faces.
"Is this a festival?"
Indeed, it was as Rune said. A grand festival was taking place, but it was one unlike any he had ever seen.
Laughter could be hard amidst boisterous conversations, but the voice taking part sounded far too crazed.
Feasts were taking place but the dishes were all lumps of charred meat. The citizens of the Dragon Clan who took part ate voraciously. They tore into the meat, cramming it down their throats in great quantities–drooling and slobbering.
And it wasn't just the food.
