What had happened at this shrine had happened at all the others. It had taken less effort for them to fall. With Tera killing as many as she could at the shrine she was watching over, the death butterflies had needed to concentrate on that area more.
But the other shrines fell much more easily. Just a few death butterflies going unnoticed was all it had taken.
The butterflies were mindless creatures driven only by an instinct the gather where mana was most concentrated. Yet, despite this, the shrines all fell like it was a coordinated effort. One priestess became poisoned by the butterfly's scale dust and then all of the priestess became poisoned.
The power to the auxiliary shrines went dark and the flow of power to the barrier was disrupted.
"Get the power back online now!"
"The rest of you, kill these things!"
