In the Multiverse Defenders, Wanda's role was extremely crucial.
If Batman and Dr. Banner were the "gatekeepers," responsible for opening Dimensional gate, then Wanda was the "lookout," the one who could peer into the endless vastness of the multiverse and pinpoint the destinations they needed.
If Hughie and the others ever wanted to return to their home universe someday, chances were, they'd need Wanda's help.
Wanda smiled warmly.
"Seems like you're adapting to this new world rather smoothly?"
Maeve shrugged.
"Honestly, before I came, I thought this place would be an entirely different alien civilization.
But now… it feels like just moving from one city to another. Sure, some changes, but nothing insurmountable."
Annie and Hughie both nodded with faint smiles.
Wanda glanced at the video still playing on the screen and added:
"With more and more heroines joining our ranks, I think we should bond a bit more. I'm thinking of creating a 'Sisters' Club.' We could go shopping together, plan trips, just… relax. Would you like to join?"
"Count me in!" Maeve replied immediately.
Since her sexuality had already been publicly revealed, there was no reason to hide it anymore—she genuinely enjoyed spending time with women.
Annie hesitated for a moment.
"Will Diana be part of the club too?"
"I haven't asked her yet," Wanda shrugged. "But maybe you could help invite her? I doubt she'd refuse."
Annie nodded. "Alright."
At that, Hughie felt a bit awkward, realizing he was the odd one out, so he quickly shifted his attention back to the video on the light-screen.
Maeve's introduction video had ended. Now, it was time for the last member: The Deep.
In the previous quiz, footage of him abusing his position to harass Annie had been exposed. Since then, his reputation has plummeted.
Unlike Homelander, who despite endless scandals still retained supporters as the Seven's central figure, The Deep had always been little more than background decoration. Once the dirt came out, his career collapsed instantly.
Later, when Clark and the others clashed with Vought, The Deep was dragged along as cannon fodder and ended up getting pummeled by Aquaman. Now, he was locked in the Multiverse Defenders' special prison.
Though hardly innocent, The Deep's "villainy level" was miles below Homelander and Stormfront.
That said, his way of "relieving stress" was… truly one of a kind.
Thanks to his powers, he was far more attached to marine life than to people. After all, he could literally talk with sea creatures.
So, his form of stress relief was… intimacy with his aquatic friends.
On screen, The Deep was seen arguing passionately with Madelyn, demanding the release of a dolphin from a marine park. Judging from the timeline, Madelyn was still alive, meaning this was before Stormfront's rise.
Their conversation was almost comedic. Vought had positioned The Deep as a spokesperson for the aquarium, yet here he was insisting he needed to "rescue" one of the dolphins?
Naturally, Madelyn refused, scolding him harshly.
But The Deep decided to take matters into his own hands.
That night, he drove a van to the aquarium, broke in, and "rescued" the dolphin.
He placed his dolphin "brother" in the back of the van, happily chatting with it along the way. The Deep truly treated the creature as an equal, a sentient being, conversing with it fluently.
Outside the video, Tony Stark covered his mouth, laughing.
"Oh my God, is this guy seriously flirting with a dolphin? This is priceless!"
Even Erik chuckled.
"This is… astonishing. Wait—are dolphins actually capable of… that kind of relationship with humans?"
Tony waggled his eyebrows.
"Heh, Erik, fun fact: in some ways, dolphins can get a little too close to humans, if you catch my drift."
Natasha rolled her eyes.
"Enough, you two. At least he's… doing a good thi—"
Before she could finish, disaster struck in the video.
A truck swerved in front of the van. The Deep slammed the brakes, strapped safely into his seatbelt.
But the dolphin wasn't so lucky. It smashed through the windshield and went flying—only to meet a tragic, instant death.
The Deep's horrified expression filled the screen, while outside, the players erupted into laughter.
Bruce Banner shook his head with a wry smile.
"I bet that dolphin would've preferred to stay in the aquarium than suffer this 'rescue.'"
But the comedy wasn't over.
The video cut to a supermarket seafood section, where The Deep overheard the pleas of a crab. Moved, he tried to buy his "crab brother."
Beaming with pride at the good deed, he prepared to save another marine friend—only to watch the store clerk grab the crab, chop it clean in half, and toss it into the cooking pot.
Tony doubled over laughing.
"This guy's a walking joke! God, he's hilarious!"
Natasha pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Honestly, if he really wants to help his sea friends, he should probably stop trying so hard. He's doing them more harm than good."
The Deep's "relationships" with his aquatic companions were disturbingly close.
Even when alone with a woman, he'd bring along his octopus buddy, Timothy.
And when the footage showed him planning to include Timothy in a "multiplayer game"… the entire audience outside the screen erupted:
"He's insane!"
"He's too much!"
"He really plays hard!"
In the Eternal Space, Erik turned toward Homelander.
"Hey, pal, you're teammates with this guy. Did you ever expect him to be this unhinged?"
Homelander, brushing soot off his face, sneered with open disgust.
"Vile! Absolutely vile! How can you people laugh at this? Don't you find it revolting? This freak has gills on his stomach—I can barely look at him without gagging."
Tony only shrugged.
"Whoa, easy there, buddy. Personally, I find him way less offensive than you. Out of the Seven, aside from Maeve and Annie, he's probably the only one who isn't completely unbearable."
Natasha shook her head firmly.
"No, Tony. I guarantee every woman watching feels nothing but disgust and rejection toward him."
Tony held up his hands.
"Alright, fair point. But what I meant was—his threat level is low. Honestly, he does more damage to his aquatic pals than he ever did to society."
