"Whew."
Tamsin let out a small sigh of relief.
Soren had won.
Her organization's strongest mutant had secured the wager placed on his head, and now he wouldn't have to spend a single second with this mysterious organization and their blue-eyed angel of a man.
'What a relief.'
Tamsin's nerves were eased for a moment, and the blue-eyed angel noticed it immediately. Instead of acknowledging it or letting her bask in it, he chose to shatter it just as quickly with his "calm tone" and carefully chosen words.
"Congratulations, Lady Tamsin," he said smoothly. "You and your sister have done a great job training your mutant. A great investment you've made."
"Yeah, I know," she replied. "Can I go now?"
"Have you forgotten already?" He smiled. "The wager was between your mutants and mine. Seniors and Juniors. I'm sure the same investment you put into Soren was also put in the white haired boy, yes?"
It wasn't.
