Chapter 18 - Chapter 18; The Truth

ediately looked at my damaged finger, which was also starting to heal.

"Oh, I'm okay, mom. The knife just slipped a bit," I reasoned and smiled to get rid of my mother's concern.

"Tamara, we healed quickly, but if our injuries are severe, it leaves a scar on our skin. I already told you that, but you still ignore my warning!" My mother continued to preach. I hugged her tightly to make her at ease.

"It's not that deep, so don't get mad. Promise I'll be careful next time," I state and kiss her on the forehead.

"Hmm, next time, I won't ask you to help me in the kitchen. Since I'm done, you can leave me now," I couldn't help but laugh as my mother shoved me out of the kitchen.

Since I had nothing to do, I decided to go straight to the side of the house, where there was a small hut to rest. It's a nice place to meditate because it's a bit far from home and not crowded with pack members.
