As much he felt to assist, Ezra would rather remain uninvolved.
At once the dormant array carved into the ceiling starts blinking a deep red, literally becoming a spotlight.
"I don't suppose that's a good sign?" Ezra speaks, eyes still on the array.
"For you? Definitely not" one of them replies, his gaze cold. "Get director Halden in here!"
Palming his face, Ezra sigh's, his annoyance bubbling inside.
'So many complications..!'
Director Halden arrives not a minute later.
The doors to the interrogation chamber slid open with a sharp hiss.
His silver insignia gleamed beneath the crimson light of the emergency array, immediately drawing attention.
The atmosphere shifted.
The officers who had been questioning Ezra straightened instinctively.
"Director"
Halden acknowledged them with a brief nod before turning his attention toward Ezra.
"So you're the witness"
Ezra shrugged.
"If that's what we're calling it"
