Chapter 263 - I have been terrible to you, Isiah Duncan!

Eijar felt an overwhelming surge of shock upon witnessing Isiah's absolute persistence in retrieving Ciel. She had harbored the firm belief that he would simply abandon the boy upon discovering that Ciel had chosen to depart of his own free will.

Isiah burned with a dense, suppressed fury, though he displayed only a fraction of his dark wrath. Had it not been for his overriding obsession to reclaim the child, he would have fully succumbed to his monstrous nature and reduced the surrounding region to ash.

The lingering possibility of recovering Ciel offered him a brief, razor thin measure of stability. He maintained his auditory focus for several minutes before setting off on foot. He briefly considered summoning Jaffar to expedite the pursuit, but quickly dismissed the notion; the continuous beating of Jaffar's massive wings would unleash a deafening vibration that his hyper sensitive ears could not tolerate.
