Ciel was deeply upset by what Isiah had done to Lexie, and for the next half an hour he refused to speak a single word to him. Isiah simply sat nearby, his cold gaze resting continuously on the small body of the girl lying motionless atop the bureau.
At first, Isiah genuinely regretted the fact that he hadn't finished her off; however, as he kept watching her, he realized she had been crying during the entire struggle.
The fact that she hadn't offered a shred of resistance while he was strangling her was one of the primary reasons that fueled his curiosity about her. The sweet taste of revenge was never going to feel satisfying if the person he was executing didn't beg for their life.
Killing her under those conditions would have been nothing more than doing her a favor by mercifully ending her misery.
