"You intended to take your own life?" Yogev asked quietly as he observed the boy slowly opening his eyes.
Heigl had not yet regained full consciousness. His vision remained blurred, barely taking in his surroundings, and Yogev refrained from pressing further, recognizing that the youth was still hovering on the brink of sleep.
As the minutes drifted past, the reality of his situation flooded back into Heigl's mind. He squeezed his eyes shut for a long moment before opening them wide, finally registering Yogev standing above him.
"What are you doing here?" Heigl rasped, his voice weak. "I assumed you were busy reveling in slaughter and inciting wars."
"It was indeed a magnificent victory," Yogev replied smoothly, his tone unrelenting. "And let me assure you, it was only made possible because of your guidance."
