Thinking about it further, Isiah wasn't a hundred percent sure of what would actually happen after the ascendance of all the high-ranked mages and the Seventh King. He didn't even know if they were truly going to abandon them like Adelita had claimed. Lautner certainly wasn't a reliable source, and the events unfolding around them remained shrouded in mystery.
Isiah was beginning to question reality itself in this place, especially after everything Ethyl had said right before her departure.
Still, he didn't care about the people around him, nor did he care about the fate of Delwias Island. He only cared about his own existence. If he was going to live again, it had better be a comfortable, worthy life. The higher regions offered that, but if they intended to reject him and leave him behind, he wouldn't sit idly by and watch himself be crushed again. Not anymore.
