It has always been my dream to become a pilot just like my uncle much to the dismay of my mom and dad who were worried for my safety, but I didn't care I was adamant about becoming a pilot despite their feelings. Unlike my parents my uncle supported my dream to become a pilot and even payed for some lessons that used hologram machines to simulate flight manuvers. That's when my uncle took me out to dinner one-day to meet a wealthy friend of his who had a kid who wanted to become a pilot,but unlike me the kid who was a girl my age named dawn had a more serious personality compared to my more carefree one so we didn't really get along well, but we ended up meeting eachother alot because of my uncle and her dad's friendship.
5 YEARS LATER
I stood infront of a large building with 3 stories above the entrance had a sign above that read "Gilbert's flight academy" I just stood there frozen but quickly started moving again when I saw dawn I quickly walked up to her and tried to make a conversation but was shrugged off as she had developed a hatred for me we quickly walked in through the double doors and headed towards the reception desk
"hello-"
"could you point us in the direction of the flight test?" dawn said interrupting me
"yes just down that hall to the left and into room 905"
us and a few other people behind us followed entering the large room I grabbed a test sheet from the stand next to the door before taking a seat 10 minutes later a professor came in and told us to start the test 30 minutes later most people had finished except for me as I was never good at written test though I was aiming for 60% then I could probably get anywhere between 70-90% on three flight test them I could pass after another 30 minutes I handed in my test. I entered another even larger room filled with small domes with sliding doors I quickly entered one of the domes It had a seat and a classic steering wheel that I had trained in for a large part of my life once I started it up I was quickly transferred into a field of asteroids I proceeded to make many fancy manuvers to hopefully impress the people over seeing and grading my performance. I quickly finished the test and exited the dome I had been beat only by dawn who always had been a little bit better than me. next the final exam that was filled with stuff such as rifle aim and other basic military exercises just incase you failed to become a pilot you could become a foot soldier,after doing all the tests everybody went home and continued my normal everyday activities until the next week when we went back to get a letter that would tell us where we would get in or not after entering the room I quickly got my letter and eagerly opened it
"dear Elijah Grace the results of your tests are written: 20% flight manuvers: 84% military:95%"
I stared in shock but quickly regained my Senses as I heard a snicker behind me
"aw guess you didn't make it huh" said a blond haired boy behind me I recognized him as someone I knew named Jacob who was known for using his wealthy parents influence as a way to always get everything. I quickly realized that he must have bribed the test markers to make my score 0% so he could get a spot in the academy before I could do anything he was already out of the room I stood there for a long time before leaving a few days later a officer showed up at my door
"would you like to become a guard for the military base?"
"yes" I responded if I couldn't become a pilot I'll atleast be part of of the military.
1 year later
I walked in silence like every other day toward the military base ever since I accepted that invitation I had to watch people go and live my dream every week as battles with the inimicus began and ended once I got there I put my uniform on and began my day of standing outside the entrance of the base for 8 hours when I noticed alot and I mean alot of space fighters launch
"must be a big one huh"
"yeah" responded the other guard about 20 minutes later a voice came over the radio
"any soldiers with flight experience come to the launch bay" what? But why was the attack really that large they need people who aren't even pilots to join?
"hey didn't you try to become a pilot"
"yeah"
"then what are you waiting for go already" I look him in the eyes eight before I decide to go the the launch bay
a woman greets me when aim come in
"what expert enc do you got"
"I tried to become a pilot ma'am"
"that's enough come with me." she then jogs to a nearby starfighter once we get there I just stand there in amazement finally I will get the chance to fly a star fighter
"what are you waiting for get in" the woman says
I quickly climb up the ladder with her behind me
"okay this pedal on the right fires your blasters and hold this pedal on the right to charge your shield when it goes down...if you aren't dead" she explains before closing the cockpit I'm quickly lifted into the air by the metal platform below me that Alinea me with a metal tube about a better wider the the starfighter a voice comes over the radio.
"launching in 3...2...1"
I'm quickly launched into the vast void of space with many others I quickly hear a voice over the radio
"Emergency any reinforcements pls come to these coordinates ***"
"on my way" I respond 10 minutes later I get close enough to see gun shots when all of a sudden a bright red light flashes inside the cockpit meaning I've been hit I quickly up my speed while do some fast turns to shake the enemy ship off my tale so I can get some shots in I quickly do a dive straight down before noticing an asteroid field where the bulk of the battle is happening I quickly do some twists and turns and luckily for me inimicus ships are quite thick making it hard for manuvers like this so it quickly crashes into an asteroid
"I've got 2 on my tail requesting assistance"
I recognized the voice could it be?
"on my way"
