Havi carefully examined the people she had killed; they were all wearing Aesir armor. She pondered for a long time before deciding to gather the corpses into a ball and throw them through a teleportation gate for her beast to eat.
Having finished, she was about to leave when a gentle bite tugged at her tail. Turning around, she saw the small wolf cub clinging to her.
"What's wrong? It's safe now, you should leave," Havi said.
But the wolf grunted and shook its head, unwilling to leave. She sat down, and the cub lunged forward, nuzzling against her and barking.
"What a lovely creature. But it seems the Aesir gods don't like creatures like you, do you, Fenrir?" - Havi
The wolf cub's eyes looked at her with innocent clarity, but who would have guessed that this adorable four-legged creature was one of the key figures in the Ragnarok war and the one who had the glory of killing All-father?
Holding the wolf cub's paws, Havi gently squeezed them to feel the creature's softness. She bent down, placing her forehead on the wolf's head and murmuring softly, when a light flashed and then went out.
"What did you do?" - Fenrir
"Of course, I shared the language. I can't speak wolf language, so I had to use a trick to communicate." - Havi
"You understand what I'm saying?" - Fenrir
Havi nodded slightly, and the wolf cub snuggled closer to her, as if seeking comfort.
"Thank you for helping me, otherwise I would have been captured by those... gods..." - Fenrir
"Now you're alright, or rather, temporarily alright. They'll come back here to take you again, and not just you alone." - Havi
"My brother and my sister! I have to go home!" - Fenrir
"Where is your home?" - Havi
"Behind those mountains, there's a house—" - Fenrir
Putting the wolf on her back, Havi spread her feathered wings to take flight into the sky, Fenrir clinging tightly to the bird woman's shoulders to avoid falling.
Flying through the chilly clouds, carefully avoiding the mountains peeking out from behind the white clouds. Flying on until she saw a wooden house behind two mountains, however, there were soldiers in armor similar to those she had encountered, and they were surrounding the house.
"We have to go down there!" - Fenrir
"Not necessarily." - Havi
Tense the muscles in her body, the feathers on her wings hardened and became sharp. As soon as she reached the right depth, she flapped her wings forcefully, and feathers shot out like an unannounced rain, piercing the bodies of the soldiers.
Now the soldiers' bodies were a shapeless mass of flesh; those still clinging to life couldn't hold out much longer and died. Havi landed on the ground, and the wolf cub jumped off her back and ran into the house.
From inside the house, a little girl peeked out from behind the door. She had a rosy face and black hair, but only the right half. When she stepped out, the left half of her was clearly visible, resembling a corpse, with disheveled hair and decaying, rotting skin.
A large snake, bigger than a normal snake, hung around her neck, seemingly unaffected by her weight. The snake's eyes were fixed on Havi warily.
Fenrir howled, trying to indicate that the other person wasn't a bad guy, so they slowly left the house.
"Alright, you're home safe now. Goodbye" - Havi.
Just as she was about to fly away, Fenrir grabbed her tail and pulled her back, preventing her from leaving.
"What now?"- Havi.
"Please stay here" - Fenrir.
"I'm sorry, but this isn't a place I should be." - Havi
"Please~" - Fenrir
Fenrir looked at her with big, round, sparkling eyes. This was an advantage of small animals; they would use their adorable appearance to soften people's hearts. Havi, of course, couldn't help but be charmed by this cuteness.
So, she had no choice but to give in to this cuteness.
If this was a residence, it seemed more luxurious than a normal Jotunn house, which indicated that the owner must be someone of high status or a powerful family.
There were quite a few huge rocks here, with smooth, flat surfaces, probably cut by something, and on those rocks were completed drawings.
"These paintings are..." - Havi
"Those are what our mother would paint, please don't touch them." - Fenrir
"I won't touch them, I just think they're truly magnificent. I've tried painting them myself, but they're terrible." - Havi
She turned to look at the little girl with the two halves of a face and a snake still hiding behind the corner of the wall; they looked timid in the face of strangers, so she wouldn't disturb them.
"Then why do you want me here?" - Havi
The wolf looked up at her, its round, gem-like eyes staring at her.
"Just because... just because we're afraid those people will come back." - Fenrir
And that reason was quite true, because Havi remembered that when All-father heard the news of Loki's three children being born, he immediately ordered the gods to search for them to avert the future disaster.
Thinking this, Havi frowned at the way the wisest man in Northern Europe was handling things—an extreme approach that was tantamount to planting seeds of self-destruction.
Havi placed her left wing on the wolf's head and gently stroked it.
"If you're so anxious, I'll sit here until your parents return"- Havi
The wolf's tail wagged excitedly, and it snuggled against her. Then it ran towards the two figures hiding in the corner, slowly approaching Havi. She extended her right wing, wanting the little girl with the two halves of her face to touch it.
The girl, with one rosy cheek and a chestnut brown eye, but the other dead and green eye, looked down at the stranger's right wing. The wolf Fenrir nodded slightly, and only then did the little girl place her small hand on the stranger's wing.
"You don't need to worry about me being disgusted by your appearance, because appearance is just the surface; another part is your soul, Hel"- Havi
The little girl's two-colored eyes widened, a light flashing in them, and she immediately threw herself into Havi's arms. Despite her icy cold body, Havi wasn't afraid and embraced her.
And so, Havi agreed to stay there for a while, waiting for the children's parents to return.
