He seemed to have been contemplating for an eternity.
Unbeknownst to him, she was holding her breath the entire time, her heart racing.
Finally, he bent down, extended his hand, and quite gentlemanly uttered in English, "May I?"
She smiled brightly, though her eyes were brimming with tears, and placed her hand in his palm.
Beneath the hazy yellow crystal fringe lamp, he embraced her, her hand resting on his shoulder, as they quietly danced, gazing deeply at each other.
She didn't realize she was so helpless…
As he held her and they wandered in the music, her tears suddenly became uncontrollable, falling drop by drop.
Thankfully, she leaned against his shoulder just in time…
He felt her trembling body and softly asked, "What's wrong?"
She shook her head, not daring to look up at him, her vision blurred by tears.
