Chapter 380 - Chapter 389 Minerva Glass part 1

Paris, Roland Garros Stadium, the French Open is underway.

In the players' lounge, Minerva Glass changed out of her tennis outfit and into casual clothes.

Ring ring~

Her phone rang. Minerva Glass, having just finished putting on her shirt, went over and picked up the phone.

"Who's calling?"

Minerva Glass looked at the unfamiliar number on her phone, highly suspecting it was one of those reporters. After hesitating for a moment, she didn't answer but chose to hang up.

While packing her things, less than a minute later, the phone rang again. Minerva Glass picked it up and saw it was the same number as before.

"Hello, who is this?"

Minerva Glass frowned slightly but still answered the phone.

"Hello, my name is Aizen, I'm Japanese. Do you know someone named Ares Ashley?" Aizen's voice came through the phone. He knew, of course, that Minerva Glass knew Ares Ashley, but since he didn't know either of them, he pretended not to.

"Ares?"

Minerva Glass was startled, then said, "He's my coach. What happened to him?"

Aizen said, "It's good that you know him. I found your number on his phone. He was in a car accident and is currently in the emergency room."

"How...how is that possible?!"

Minerva Glass almost fainted upon hearing this. She managed to calm herself and asked, "Is this Mr. Aizen? Which hospital are you at? I'll be right there!"

Aizen said, "St. Mary's Hospital. You can contact me directly at this number when you arrive, and I'll come pick you up." "

Okay, I'll be there within thirty minutes."

Minerva Glass replied, then added, "If…if the emergency room closes, please let me know whatever the situation."

"Okay, no problem!"

Aizen responded.

"Thank you, Mr. Aizen, see you later."

Minerva Glass hung up the phone, quickly packed up, and left the lounge.

Outside the hospital's emergency room, Aizen closed his phone and whistled. Half the plan was complete. He didn't need to do anything else; he just had to wait for Minerva Glass to arrive.

Looking at the emergency room, Aizen's lips curled slightly as he sat down in a nearby chair. He knew very well that Ares Ashley was beyond saving. He had his mirror image clone do it, so he knew the situation all too well. Minerva Glass was Aizen's target, and in that case, Ares Ashley was the biggest obstacle, which was perfect for him to know. The bridge built by Minerva Glass was a kind of reused resource.

Before Minerva Glass arrived, the French police had already located Aizen. Fortunately, he had been a kind passerby who brought Ares Ashley to the hospital, so he only needed to answer a few questions for the police, who quickly left.

Minerva Glass didn't arrive within thirty minutes; forty minutes had passed by the time she arrived.

Aizen, having received a call from Minerva Glass, went downstairs to meet her.

"Ding! Host, please note, the host has detected target Minerva Glass. Please capture her!"

Aizen remained unfazed by the system's notification. Although Minerva Glass was wearing sunglasses, obscuring her full appearance, he knew her beauty from her posters; it would be strange if the system hadn't given a notification.

"Hello, I am..."

Aizen extended his hand to Minerva Glass.

Minerva Glass leaned closer and said, "Could you take me upstairs? I'm not suited to be in crowded places."

"Okay, please follow me!"

Aizen deliberately paused, then nodded to indicate understanding, gesturing for Minerva Glass to follow him.

With Minerva Glass in tow, Aizen returned to the emergency room.

Looking at the emergency room light, Minerva Glass asked, "How long has Ares been in there?"

Aizen replied, "When I called you, it was right after he was brought in."

Upon hearing this, Minerva Glass began to pray in the direction of the emergency room, clearly praying that Ares Ashley would be safe.

After finishing her prayers, Minerva Glass looked at Aizen, took off her sunglasses, and said, "Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Minerva Glass, you can just call me Grass."

"Hello, Glass."

Aizen nodded, surprised, "I didn't expect it to be you, Glass . I was planning to go to the finals the day after tomorrow to watch the match live."

Minerva Glass asked, "Mr. Aizen, could you tell me what happened?"

"Of course!" Aizen nodded and said, "I'm a tourist in Paris. I was walking on the street when I saw a large truck run a red light and hit Mr. Ares Ashley's car. Mr. Ares Ashley's car lost control. Because his car was parked not far away, I went over and rescued him. Mr. Ares Ashley was barely breathing at the time. I happen to know some medical skills, so I kept him alive and brought him here."

"Thank you, Mr. Aizen!" Minerva Glass thanked him, completely ignoring Aizen's words about using medical skills to keep Ares Ashley alive. She clearly doubted the validity of his statement.

"You're welcome. Since we've met, it's what I should do." Aizen waved his hand. He could tell Minerva Glass hadn't listened to him, but he didn't mind; he would prove himself later.

Minerva Glass gave Aizen a forced smile, then looked worriedly toward the emergency room, clearly concerned about Ares Ashley inside.

Seeing this, Aizen remained silent. He didn't care that Minerva Glass was worried about Ares Ashley. Ares Ashley was already dead, and he had no reason to be jealous of a dead man. Besides, he wasn't in love with Minerva Glass; he was only attracted to her beauty.

Ding!

The emergency room light went out.

Minerva Glass nervously stared at the emergency room door, her hands clasped in prayer.

The door opened, and a doctor in his fifties stepped out first.

Seeing the doctor, Minerva Glass hurriedly asked, "Doctor, how is Ares?"

"Miss Minerva Glass?!" the doctor said in surprise, clearly recognizing her.

But that made sense. It was during the French Open Grand Slam, and it was inevitable that many people would recognize the woman known as the "Grass Court Queen."

Aizen spoke up, "Doctor, Mr. Ares Ashley is Glass's coach. She's very concerned about Mr. Ares's condition. How is he now?"

"Sigh!"

The doctor sighed and shook his head at the two of them. "I'm sorry. I did my best, but I still couldn't save Mr. Ares Ashley's life."

"No!!"

Minerva Glass screamed, stumbling backward and falling.

"Watch out!"

Aizen naturally reached out and supported Minerva Glass. This time, he wasn't intentionally taking advantage of her. He figured this woman would soon be his, so there was no need to act frivolously and cause trouble later.

The emergency room doors opened on both sides, and two nurses pushed out a hospital bed. Ares Ashley lay on the bed, covered with a white sheet.

"Ares!"

Minerva Glass cried out and rushed toward the bed. Her body went limp as she knelt on the floor, weeping bitterly.

Aizen said to the nurses, "Please forgive us. The deceased was someone very close to her."

The two nurses nodded in understanding. This wasn't the first time they had encountered such a situation, so they stood silently to the side and did not stop Minerva Glass.

After sobbing for a while, Minerva Glass carefully lifted the sheet covering Ares Ashley's head. When she saw his face, any lingering hope vanished. Overwhelming grief replaced it, and she burst into tears again.

"Sir, we've been delayed for quite a while," one of the two nurses said to Aizen after some time.

"Thank you." Aizen nodded in understanding, then went over to help Minerva Glass up and gently pulled her away.

Minerva Glass clung tightly to the hospital bed, but her strength was no match for Aizen's, and she was eventually pulled away.

As the emergency bed moved further away, Minerva Glass squatted on the ground, continuing to sob loudly.

Aizen didn't stop her. After a few minutes, seeing her sobs subside, he said, "Miss Glass, I think we should contact Mr. Ares' family?"

Minerva Glass wiped away her tears and stood up, saying, "Ares and I are both British. His family is in England right now, but you're right, we should contact them first."

Minerva Glass went to make a phone call and returned about ten minutes later, saying to Aizen, "Ares' parents said they'll be flying over soon. Mr. Aizen, could you please stay here and help me with a few things before then?"
