Vera had originally thought Victor Morgan was only here to discuss their collaboration. When he specifically asked to see her, she'd foolishly wondered if he'd remembered something.
But who could have expected Victor Morgan's words to be so hurtful? It was only after daily discussions with the project manager from the Morgan Group that Vera had finally agreed to it.
It wasn't as if Vera absolutely had to work with them. But now Victor Morgan had come to terminate the agreement himself for one simple reason: he wanted to draw a clear line between them so Sylvia Schuyler wouldn't have to worry.
After listening to Vera's assessment, Victor Morgan nodded grimly. "That's exactly right. So, I hope you understand, Miss Warner. The collaboration is canceled."
When Vera didn't respond, Victor Morgan continued, "Of course, I'm willing to offer double the compensation for any breach-of-contract penalties this involves."
