Nathaniel Aldos stood by the tall window of his chambers, the pale morning light spilling across his skin like a quiet interrogation. His gaze was fixed on his hand, palm open, fingers slightly curled as though he expected something to emerge from them at any moment.
Slowly and deliberately, yet very cautiously, he turned his hand.
He saw nothing. No claws, no silver fur, no trace of a monstrous transformation, Just human skin.
And yet, he knew what he had seen last night, it was no dream or temporary madness, it had been as real as the sunrise.
Nathan flexed his fingers, his jaw tightening as memory surged back like a violent tide.The tearing of fabric, the crack of bone shifting beneath his flesh, the way his reflection in the glass had stared back at him, not as a man, but as something… animalistic.
